This man was always intriguing to me. Refn is the mastermind behind Drive and Bronson, and to see this movie was a joy. My Life Directed By Nicolas Winding Refn is a gentle example that explores the making of Only God Forgives, his worst film. Refn deals with the fear of his film crashing with critics and at the box office. The film psychologicaly torments you with the consequences that he deals with, like his family for example. His wife, Liv directs this interesting movie that is a message to the pain of her husband. This is truly a watch for Refn fans and for moviegoers in general. It is haunting, you can feel it but not see it.… Expand

'My Life Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn' unfortunately confirms my biggest issue with 'Only God Forgives' and that's Refn had no idea what he was doing while making the movie. Even then, I still sympathy with his struggle as a film marker to communicate his vision and ideas to the screen.

The documentary is a little short, 58 mins, and it's simple to follow where nothing too crazy or chaotic happens. So it's no movie making documentary like 'Hearts of Darkness' or 'Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau'.

Sorry Nicolas, but 'Drive' is better.… Expand
