I wasn't sure what I was going to see and I think that somehow helped me not to have any kind of high expectations, but I certainly think this movie was too soft in almost all its aspects, even in the comedy, so the horror moments also sufferI wasn't sure what I was going to see and I think that somehow helped me not to have any kind of high expectations, but I certainly think this movie was too soft in almost all its aspects, even in the comedy, so the horror moments also suffer a lot, especially because the moments in which it seeks to use that resource fall quite short, even in its confrontation and final act in which the boring and unexciting exorcism of the title takes place.

I had thought about buying the book on which this movie is based, but now I can only say its results have taken away all my desire to do so.… Expand

O filme até que promete no início, com uma trilha animada (tem até A-ha) e uma vibe meio "Menina Malvada", e a construção dos personagens é boa o suficiente para manter o interesse.

Mas aí quando o filme inventa de falar sobre o exercismo em si, se perde geral. Se perde feio na verdade. é preciso de muita competência para criar a atmosfera necessária para migrar de gêneros tão distintos entre si. Veja, o problema maior não está na escolha dos gêneros, mas na transição e na construção da atmosfera. Acabou soando muito falso, e a simpatia pelas personagens logo se esvai, se torna um filme aborrecido, chato mesmo.
Veja por exemplo o filme "A vida depois", que também começa good vibes e consegue com maestria inserir um drama pesado. Aqui a confusão que há entre um filme de colegial e um filme que fala de magia e exorcismo, simplesmente não decolou, é como se o roteiro não soubesse o que fazer. Para piorar, tudo soou genérico demais, se ao menos o problema se restringisse à transição, mas no caso o problema persiste, o padre por exemplo é de uma caricatura preguiçosa, o desenrolar todo é ruim.
Em resumo, você pode assistir aos primeiros minutos e ir ver algum filme da saga Crepúsculo, que talvez se divirta mais.… Expand
