I love this movie, Best movie Robin williams has ever made and the supporting cast is wonderful, particuarly Sally field. When you think of the name Robin Williams, movies like this come to mind, because without him, a film like this would never be on the radar. Williams is classically funny in a way that no one else is and he shows again in Mrs. Doubtfire.When you think of the name Robin Williams, movies like this come to mind, because without him, a film like this would never be on the radar. Williams is classically funny in a way that no one else is and he shows again in Mrs. Doubtfire. Separated from his children in a divorce, he needs a way to see his kids every day, and the idea of Mrs. Doubtfire is born. The cast is a mix of veteran comedy actors and young kids and they all do a phenomenal job. Williams of course is genius and makes the film, in a role that is clearly written for him. On the surface it seems like a kids movie, but it's not. There is a lot there for everyone and even thou it's only a PG film, it is genuinely funny.… Expand

This movie allows for some seriousness along with some of William's comedic abilities. The movie has one overlying theme: family. Robin Williams leads an exceptional cast for this hilarious comedy about a divorced father desperate to spend more time with his children to the point where he is willing to dress up as a sixty-year-old nanny.

Classic and brilliant comedic performance by the good and charming Robin Williams, that we all entirely love and miss.. Look... if you love Robin Williams's work (like I do), you will love this movie. Williams is at his very best in 'Mrs. Doubtfire'... every scene he's in will bring a smile and a laugh to your face. Robin Williams plays a 60 year old nanny with a soft Scottish accent. There's literally no words to describe this. I'll just um give it a 10.

Robin Williams' portrayal of Mrs. Doubtfire is one of the greatest comedic performances since the beginning of film. The film brings you through the laughs and the cries of a dysfunctional family--hitting home with each punch. It's magic!

Mrs. Doubtfire was actually a great movie. Don't listen to the critics when it comes to this, they don't know what they're talking about. What a thoroughly enjoyable movie. I really like Robin Williams, an actor that is I personally don't care for him that much as a comedian, and the roles of Daniel Hillard and Mrs Doubtfire were perfect for him. I really like Robin Williams, an actor that is I personally don't care for him that much as a comedian, and the roles of Daniel Hillard and Mrs Doubtfire were perfect for him. While he was fine as Daniel, it is his tour-de-force performance of Mrs Doubtfire that drives the film. Plus the make up used on him was fantastic. Also worthy of credit is director Chris Columbus, who nails the use of Williams's exuberance and quick-fire personality, and because of this every gag hits the right buttons. There are cracking set pieces such as the make up experiments and the series of table hopping quick changes. And I for one liked the routine with the dinosaur, it wasn't one of the better gags but it was funny. Pierce Brosnan also does surprisingly well as the bachelor looking for a ready-made family, and Mara Wilson gives one of her better performances as Natalie, very delightful and charming her performance was. The script is also funny and touching, the score is warm and sweet and the film is very nice to look at. Some people didn't like the ending, but I had no real problem with it personally. My only complaints are that the film is a little too long and Sally Field overdoes the exasperation slightly as the mother, but overall this is a delightful film, no matter how many times you see it, you are likely to love it every time, whether it is Williams, the gags or Wilson. 9/10 Bethany Cox… Expand

Every frame is dripping with humor and heart, and it doesn't shy away from the emotional weight and trauma thatMrs. Doubtfire is without a doubt one of the funniest movies ever made, as well as possibly Robin Williams' finest performance. Every frame is dripping with humor and heart, and it doesn't shy away from the emotional weight and trauma that effects a family undergoing a divorce. Sally Field also gives an incredibly underrated performance that is one of the most dynamic I have seen on the screen in a long time. Robin Williams is hilarious, absurd, crazy for his kids, and deeply vulnerable. The insanity of his plan to dress up as a 60+ year old woman his ex-wife hires as a housekeeper is hysterical. The balancing act the movie undertakes of managing all the spinning plates of a single father, a professional trying to make it in television, and a nanny is such a wonderful sight to behold. This movie is heartwarming and melancholy all at once. You're missing out if you haven't seen it.… Expand

Reviewers really annoy me... This is a great, funny film. To think that this was rated lower than all the overrated crap like Star Wars and lord Of The Rings really annoys me. Robin Williams is great in this, go watch it.

Thankfully, he finds out that his ex-wife Miranda, played by Sally Field, is advertising for a housekeeper. Seeing an opportunity, he, along with his brother Frank, and Frank's lover Jack, creates the character of Mrs. Doubtfire. Watching Daniel try to keep his true identity hidden is a scream! I don't think anyone could have played the role of Mrs. Doubtfire any better than Robin Williams.… Expand

Mrs. Doubtfire is a really funny and enjoyable comedy that people of all ages can appreciate. Robin Williams did an excellent job in the leading role and I also liked the kid actors.

Mrs. Doubtfire Mrs. Doubtfire is a plot driven comic drama about a guy pushing his boundaries in order to mend his broken marriage. If the jokes are funny it's because of the comic timing of the cast, it's dramatic because of the performance and it works throughout the course of it despite of having plenty of ups and downs, because of Williams's charm that enlightens each frame. It hits few notes so correct that one gets its hopes high only to fall flatly on face so badly that it strikes down all the earned integrity up till then. In fact, its last act is so sloppy and blunt that it aches you to watch such a talent go waste by on something so redundant and juvenile. The writing gets frizzy, daft and cheesy as it ages on screen, with emotions shallow and logistics thin as wafer. The makeup designing is finely detailed, but it is short on technical aspects like typical background score, cinematography and amatuer editing. Williams is a revelation in here, his electrifying performance makes the heart pump faster and harder than ever where he is decently supported by Field. Columbus's execution still needs few better ticks and notions to nurture such a concept, either you go all sketchy and wait for the thrills and laughs or you go pragmatic and breed it sensibly and slowly to create the anticipated impact. All the husbandry gags that it is brimmed with no matter how sketchy and animated, the laughs pours out from the screen and the responsible man to contact in here is no one but Williams who is delivering some of his finest work of his career. Mrs. Doubtfire has the heart in the right place, but there factors lots of aspects in a feature than a mere concept and it is that puzzle that the makers fail to solve.… Expand
