I really enjoyed Miss Americana. It offers an honest, vulnerable, relatable insight into Taylors life and shows how her struggles, fights and also her success transformed her into the woman she is today. At this point and with this film II really enjoyed Miss Americana. At this point and with this film I don't understand how anyone still could think of her as a greedy, always playing the victim kind of woman. The topics covered were clearly discussed, old interview parts as well as a lot of old footage were used to build understanding about what happened in recent years and why she went "missing" for a while. I've always been a Taylor Swift fan but it's really great to see her be so honest and upfront about how events throughout her life have affected the way she thinks about things. She gets a lot of hate for speaking up (or not speaking up),I've always been a Taylor Swift fan but it's really great to see her be so honest and upfront about how events throughout her life have affected the way she thinks about things. She gets a lot of hate for speaking up (or not speaking up), dating people (or not dating people), and "playing the victim" but this movie really reminds you that she's a human being just like the rest of us and she's allowed to have valid opinions and feelings about things. I applaud her for allowing such a deep look into her life and her personal values and I hope that her bravery will inspire young people to be more authentic and bold in their lives, as well.… Expand

Brave and vulnerable and important. With themes like body image, self esteem, self empowerment, loneliness, and sexism, this is an important story. You see her empowerment, but also you see how she still struggles. She picks herself apart asBrave and vulnerable and important. She picks herself apart as she watches back takes of her video. Not getting an award nod for ‘Reputation’ (a great and very real album in my personal opinion) makes her discard and discredit it saying, “l’ll just have to make a better album”. So insecure, but so powerful. As we all can be. Especially when coming into our own. Growing comes with pains, and waking up can feel like pins and needles. But they are part of the journey that does grow you, that does... wake you up. I saw a girl, a woman, learning how to find herself and unapologetically own and love who she is after a life in the music industry and spotlight, which is not the normal way one matures - or rather, not the ‘normal’ environment someone learns to adapt to the world in. She is starting to claim herself, and crack open. And I can see she has more bursting open to do. But she is starting the the process of stripping away everything she isn’t, to find who she is. I am happy she is sharing her struggles with the world. Especially her stories about body acceptance and a women’s timeline in the industry. About sexism. About the overarching influence of and acceptance of men versus women. She struggles with a desire to stay relevant, but also stay true to who she is. My hope is that she will learn that by being your very raw and authentic self, the rest seems to fall into place. That she doesn’t need to fight to be relevant. That she can just... be. And that the right people will all be there for her waiting. It is impossible to continuously dominate and climb. Everything must ebb and flow. Very well done. Bravo.… Expand
