You would have a better time watching paint dry. Or if you're interested in mormonism, there is a great PBS documentary you can watch online at their website.

It's a feature-length "I'm A Mormon" commercial to improve the brand image of the Mormon Church by making their members look super diverse, exciting, and fun. If that is what you like, go see this movie.

It really is nothing more than a multi-million dollar full length infomercial for the Mormon "Church". It's an extension of the 'I'm a Mormon' advertising campaign they initiated to try and implant Mitt Romney in the White House. This makes me wonder which 'White Horse' they're running for the next election?

There was another documentary called 'Meet the Mormons' earlier this year on Channel 4 in the UK. This one gave a much better perspective of what 'Meeting the Mormons' is really like, with a tiny glimpse at some of the incredibly creepy mind control tricks they use to control the Borg population.

Unlike this new version, the original version was well received by professional critics. I'm yet to read a positive review for this film by a single professional critic, yet the Borg army have been signing up anywhere they can on mass to give it their obligatory 10 star reviews. It's so obvious it really is very creepy.

I took my family to see Meet the Mormons last night and we loved it! In fact, we're going back the the theater on Monday night to see it again with some friends.
The movie profiles the lives of six devoted Mormons (four of whom are converts to the Church). They have very diverse backgrounds and life experiences, but they share a common devotion to God and a commitment to serve those around them. Instead of focusing on the LDS Church's doctrinal teachings, the movie explores how each person's beliefs influence how they conduct their lives. It corrects common misconceptions about Mormons that are often perpetuated by the popular culture (including movie critics).
Is it worth the ticket price (net proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross) to see Meet the Mormons? Absolutely! If you want to be inspired, go see this movie. This will likely be the most uplifting movie that you see all year.

"Meet the Mormons" is a funny, endearing, and authentic portrayal of six Mormons' lives. The"Meet the Mormons" is a funny, endearing, and authentic portrayal of six Mormons' lives. Many critics claim that it is merely a sugar-coated, proselytizing piece of religious propaganda, but this is a very shallow and cynical analysis. The stories in the film do not attempt to mislead or deceive the audience as true propaganda would, but simply attempt to inform, build, and uplift. The film makes explicitly clear that (at least) two of its featured individuals have close family members who do not belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The important differences of religion between brother and sister or parents and child are genuinely honored and respected, not bemoaned or glossed over as one might expect in a real piece of propaganda. The conflict, tension, and adversity experienced in the lives of these people is real, and the fact that they each face their demons with courage and inner fortitude does not make it any less so. At the end of the day, "Meet the Mormons" will inspire you to reach higher, try harder, and develop faith in the power of love, family, and maybe even Jesus Christ. Sadly, the majority of movie critics won't want you to experience that kind of spiritual positivity. Their industry thrives when people are angry, dissatisfied, and disillusioned, so they will give this movie an inaccurately low score. Expand

It's beautifully filmed and features great music, but the real reason it inspires is because it walks you through the lives of ordinary people who have accomplished extraordinary things. I loved this movie for the same reason I'd love to see films about converted Catholics, Baptists, Muslims, or Buddhists; people who understand and live the tenets of their faith accomplish much good in the world. Faith is a power that motivates billions of people throughout the world, and it's high time we see films like Meet the Mormons which celebrate our common interest in faith, family, and community. Incredibly moving, feel-good, faithful, true to everyday life...not to mention exceptional production and scenic quality. It literally everything Mormon and Movie critics will hate about this movie. Too uncontroversial; too little flash, sex, violence, blood, gay/marriage, polygamy, and scripture bashing. Ultimately, for anyone who has relatives, friends, work associates, etc. who belong to or joined the Mormon Church (correction, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) a perfect way to get to know what makes them tick as well as what they ARE NOT (rare exceptions noted) – ie. controversial, racist, practicing polygamists – and what they ARE (by and large), a people devoted to seeking and following Christian principles and doctrines for self, marital, community, and institutional improvement. I know the critics have been panning this film as an "infomercial", but how do stories of peoples lives that are currently and have historically had an influence for good rate as a commercial? It's not trying to convert anyone. It's just saying- "here we are and this is what we believe."

If you just curious about Mormons and don't mind a slightly cheesy, mildly religious, but thoroughly engaging and insightful video about a few different Mormon families across the globe, then this is a good choice. This movie really puts Mormons out there: it shows us the lives of people who we can all relate to in some way. And, most importantly, it really is a movie about love, service, devotion, and Christ-like qualities. Expand

A feature-length commercial for the LDS Church. Would you watch a feature-length commercial for McDonald's or AT&T? Because that's what this is, and it's as boring as it sounds.
