Maze Runner:The Scorch Trials exceeded my expectations by far. 1) in my opinions, is better than the original 2) No maze at all 3) Much scarier than a I thought and 4) The best dystopian film this year. The film had very strong and thrilling beginning. Way more action packed and surprising touching at the end. Tons of jump scares, this reminded me of World War Z. Though lagging towards the end and a bit too long, I still am satisified and my audience seemed to like it too. Most of you who rated this like a 1 or 2 basically did not see the movie, read the critics' comments and combined them for your bad review. This movie was good and I am anticipating for the third one.

I am a fan of the books, and I fully expect Hollywood to intervene with movies and change it up sometimes. I'll even admit the changes that are made are often for the better. However, this diverted from the source material so harshly It should not even have the Maze Runner tag attached to it.

This movie took an established and original story set to a admittedly generic concept and made it even more generic. This movie is truly just a generic post-apocalyptic zombie movie, which the source material is not. But I'm not just a **** fanboy, I can see what they were trying to make a movie that would more than likely be appealing to a wider audience, but while they set out to make that kind of movie, they failed at even doing that.

The cinematography is horrible, the dialogue is horrible, the story they tried to make is riddled with plot holes and pure exposition, the action scenes are not intense in any way, and the final act is 15 minutes too long. The first movie gave me a shimmer of hope because, even though it diverted heavily from the book, the story it told still had some appeal to it. They have now come to a screeching halt on that account.

If I'm to give this movie a pro? The acting is not half bad. Dylan O' Brian impresses, and his supporting cast is quiet good with a few useless characters strewn throughout. Honestly that's it. I truly can't think any ANYTHING else good to say.

A lot of other movies came out this weekend, like that one were Johnny Depp is actually good. Go see that instead.

The jump scares were effective and put to good use. Only problems I can see were it could be a little to cheesy and predictable at some stages but the ending has a interesting twist and puts forth a very interesting morality question that I seriously hope they will dive deeper into in the third film. Overall not the best film I have seen but still a very entertaining watch and I would go and see it again without complaint and anything I do with that with is a very good film indeed x Expand

While it lacks the humor and fun of the first movie, Scorch Trials is a wild ride.

The movie builds on an interesting, if not unique, Young-Adult-Post-Apocalyptic world. Its got all the hallmarks of this dystopian future, crumbling buildings, a vast wasteland replete with zombie-like plague victims and the Hollywood-Standard "Evil Corp" military-industrial complex baddies.

Lots of explosions and good guys running from bad guys makes for a good, but not great, theatre experience.

This sequel picks up as they find themselves with a new set of challenges in a perilous "scorched" landscape. They spend most of the movie running from the evil military scientists, zombies and miscellaneous rogue outliers. Although action is plentiful, not much of it is particularly memorable (the slanted skyscraper is the only exception). There are also mysteries to unfold, which add more questions than answers. For those who've read the novels or enjoy seeing plucky teens fight for their lives, there's an adequate amount of activity. Expand

The sand castles of mazes.

The story in "The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" is about the Gladers who have successfully left the Maze behind them, but escape is only the first step on their journey. Now they find themselves in the Scorch, a desolate landscape where unimaginable obstacles await. The powerful, mysterious group known as the WCKD seems to be behind it all - and, joining with a group of resistance fighters, the Gladers look for clues behind this sinister organization.

So I just seen "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" and it was pretty average. Theses a lot of things that I liked in the movie and these a lot I didn't like. Dylan O'Brine did a decent job playing the main lead in the movie, as he basically carried this whole movie just like in the first movie. The first 20 minutes of this movie was pretty dam good and I was very engaged on what was happening on screen. The action scenes and the cinematography in the movie was pretty damn good. This is a good looking but at the same time cruel looking movie.

Now for the bad: The movie is a bit predictable at times even in it's action scenes and the story itself. The movie dose feel rushed at times with are main characters quickly going to one place to the other just like that, and I think it's something to do with it's pasting as it jumps ahead a lot.

I didn't mind some of the CGI when it was used best in the backgrounds of a clear view of the waste land, but the cgi used on the creatures looked extremely fake and completely took me out of the movie. Of course the movie ends on that 'you got to wait for that third one', dick tease that everyone doesn't question why movies have to end like that.

Overall Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials was a decent watch. It wasn't that bad as some critics have been pointing it out to be. If you have interest in seeing the film I say "see it", if not then "skip it".
