Macy also play married couples having an affair. The daughter of one of them (Emma Roberts) and the son of the other (Luke Bracey) decide to get their parents together and guess what happens? Even though the musical beds play across both couples, this isn't a sex farce. There are some amusing moments, thanks primarily to the top notch cast, but this is mostly a heartfelt look at marriage and long-term love. With the endless dramatic encounters and monologue moments, it's obvious that this was adapted from the play by writer/director Michael Jacobs. While the potential for wacky fun could have been realized by this cast, they instead deal (effectively) with sincere emotions. (One weird note: All 4 of these parent actors are in their 70s, which is a bit weird since their kids are in their lower 30s.) Expand

In this movie, Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey constitute the least significant aspect of the entire ensemble. Their portrayal of romantic drama comes across as uninspiring and mediocre.

What's amazing is that even though they've gone a few decades without doing anything noticeable, the director/writer displayed minimal imagination by assigning such inconsequential roles to four accomplished actors of the stature of Susan Sarandon, Richard Gere, Diane Keaton, and William H. Macy. I mean you have them in your movie, make them do something more interesting.

But I suppose that reflects the result of exclusively pursuing projects for financial gain and mere complacency.
