There are some funny moments scattered throughout Mascots, and some of the performances are pulled off nicely (Parker Posey), but overall this formulaic Chirs Guest mocumentary is mediocre at best. Honestly, this isn't the best Christopher Guest film but it does have a lot of heart, humour and is original in its own way. It kind of reminded me of the move "Best In Show" about the fanatical lives of show-dog owners and their competitive streaks. This movie was funny and entertaining. Parker Posey was absolutely delightful especially in the scene where she almost got disqualified from the show through no fault of her own. See this one if you want a smile on your face all through the movie. Expand

Probably Guest's worst movie. A format that is starting to look pretty tired and needs a shake up. Shame.
