Man Bites Dog is a dark, comedic and twisted character study about a Belgium serial killer in the style of an amateur documentary. In the vein of Nightcrawler, Benoît is a fun and gripping presence on the screen which makes the murder scenesMan Bites Dog is a dark, comedic and twisted character study about a Belgium serial killer in the style of an amateur documentary. In the vein of Nightcrawler, Benoît is a fun and gripping presence on the screen which makes the murder scenes either that much more entertaining or straight up horrifying (more horror comes from when he gets the crew on board to join him in his wicked acts). As a teenager learning about the film industry and hoping to one day have a career in filmmaking, I find this film utterly inspiring with such a low budget and yet all that’s needed is the character interactions to keep the story going. I would put it in the same category as the original Blair Witch Project in that department. Defiantly a big recommendation to aspiring filmmakers and film lovers in general, get amongst it!
