This movie is way too nice and way too complicated. A promising premise, and compelling start of an orphan struggling with adulthood, becomes marred by a plot about boring characters explaining things. The animation is fairly undistinguished, and there's no sense that any of these characters can get mad, downcast, ecstatic, or anything more than slightly annoyed. It's pleasant enough to look at, but if you already have Apple TV+, just watch Wolfwalkers again.… Expand

It's more than fine if you don't dig too deep. It's colorful, eye-catching and entertaining as it can be.

Funny at times, good animation, and good voice acting, but overall shallow and meaningless, with not a lot of charm. Watch it if you want something to turn your brain off to.

I know I'm not the target audience for this children's movie but it was semi entertaining at times with a beautiful 4k HDR presentation marred by the basic screenplay and uninteresting, unchallenging plot. A really fun and lighthearted movie. There’s not much “edge” to it that you might normally see in modern animated films, but it is very endearing and cute. It has a warmth to it that harkens back to older Disney films

This is the first animation guided by John Lasseter since his ouster from Pixar. The film's designers have created a beautiful environment with busy gadgets and lovely colors. That's a good thing, because so much of this film revolves around dialogue…at least there's something pretty in the background. While it begins enjoyably, the middle section drags tremendously with entirely too much talk, much of it repetitive and moralistic. The concept is more sophisticated that usual children's films, but the lack of fun supporting characters and exciting action drains any energy and minimizes its chance for a family pleaser.
