He has some sort of midlife crisis after 700 years of being a Vampire. Also the communist party wants to make a training camp for athletes out of his castle. Because he adores an American fashion model and the US lifestyle of the seventies has much to offer he chose to move to the USA with his loyal servant Renfield. This is the set up for the story. I would describe it as comedy love story with a bit of horror. It has elements of classic horror movies, culture shock, a buddy comedy and love story. The characters / actors enhance the story and deliver a memorable movie. The humor works really well especially compared to the weak modern spoof movies. I cared for the characters and was entertained. This is for me the hallmark of a really good movie. Like I said the actors deliver and I praise the whole cast. The writing is clever and entertaining for a comedy. Right mixture of humor and seriousness. Overall this is a forgotten gem I almost forgot existed. Would recommend it for comedy fans and fans of classic movies. Expand
