An unusually low key Tom Hardy does well in the lead, even if the Welsh accent was maybe a mistake, but better are the actors on the end of his ever ringing mobile, who include Ben Daniels and Olivia Coleman. In the end there really isn't enough drama to sustain this to the end, unless you have an unhealthy interest in concrete Expand

The writing however was just boring and unrealistic, Tom Hardy's character just throws away his life in an hour with little explanation. Expand

And it is all because that he believes he is correcting his wrongs by making the right choice, even the risk is that he will lose everything he has, a well-paid job, a rosy career and a perfect family.

Yes Hardy's acting is excellent but there is absolutely no visual interest in the film - just endless shots of a man driving a car, talking about concrete and complex relationships and the odd shot of the M1 (motorway).
How can anyone in their right mind give it 10/10? @Thegodfatherson how much did they pay you to describe a file about a man driving a car, talking about concrete and complex relationships a " gritty, hard hitting"?
And @matteo " inspirational, tense, and unique..." WTF! Why can't people just be honest for once

Hardy has the chops to keep us intrigued for a bit, but that bored feeling does come in from time to time. He talks to himself, betweenst talking countless other times. Before viewing, I perused the reviews where it seemed the main concern was that it was boring. In the same scope as Buried, I optimistically expected to make it halfway through the movie. At no point was I bored, rather enthralled. Hardy's acting is perfection, creating a tangible character aided by the voice of an excellent Adam Scott. The story won't change your life, but it was an entertaining movie to watch, done well given the style, and though the ending was somewhat obscure, you don't leave disappointed. The character, at times, seemed frustratingly cavalier, but perhaps differentiating from the audience expectation is part of what made Ivan Locke appear more real, making the story more intriguing to follow. While I found the story itself to be a little meh, this is an absolute acting clinic by Tom Hardy. He literally carries this entire film on his shoulders.
