Knightly and Worthington are excellent, as is Knightly's old flame Guillame Canet. In a much smaller role, Griffin Dunne is extremely effective. He seems a little slick and libertarian, but offers the most unexpectedly "moral" perspective of anyone. The film focuses on the "big" issues and doesn't dwell on the petty issues of getting caught like most movies of its ilk generally do. The ending is excellent... Expand

All the characters seemed real and interesting, with the exception of Sam Worthington's, who lacked some depth. The idea that the film isn't sexy enough is missing the point; its not about sex but about relationships and how to juggle them when you care about two people who wants and needs conflict. It successfully portrayed how appealing an affair can be but also how much meaning a marriage still holds. Expand

Knightly and Worthington are completely wasted in this drivel. Although it was good to see Worthington in something else besides ancient armor it didn't help. These were the most unsympathetic characters I've see on film in a long time. There is no exploration of any consequence of the characters. It seems as if the intent was too produce a "see what happens if you cheat" movie and then the writer got lost trying to bore us to death. Expand

Yes, this premise has been touched on in dozens of films. What Last Night manages to achieve is a deeper and more intimate look at relationships. Side note: Keira Knightley is amazing.

I might have wanted a little more from Mendes and Canet. Good character piece. Expand

I thought it must surely be based on a play but when I looked it up online, it seems it isn't (or its not mentioned on IMDB in any case). The performances are ok but its not exactly a memorable, certainly not a stand out, film and overall I'd say its ok but no more. I wouldn't go out of your way to see this, perhaps unless your a particularly big fan of Keira Knightley perhaps. Eva Mendes is ok in it too but there's little else that especially appealed to me. Its very much a film that I felt was/is aimed at upper middle class people, which is centered on morality. It made me think somewhat of the film Closer, starring Jude Law. Its not an awful film as such but its just not particularly...good either, so I wouldn't especially recommend it as such, no. Expand
