Simply superb in virtually all phases: acting, scene orchestration, directing,, etc. captivating throughout, unpretentious, with unusual depth & perception in evidence. thought provoking.

I admit that I felt a bit cheated with this dramatic thriller because it used a death that is implied to be murder as a catalyst to develop a plot that has more to do with marital and extramarital affairs than a real search for the truth.I admit that I felt a bit cheated with this dramatic thriller because it used a death that is implied to be murder as a catalyst to develop a plot that has more to do with marital and extramarital affairs than a real search for the truth.

Now, what it actually does in terms of that is actually quite good, and its intrigue and drama are more than substantial to keep you interested and entertained. Yes, with some pace drops along the way, but it kept my interest and also he mystery of that death is still one of the driving forces of the narrative, and even though it may seem inconsequential outside of the other plot lines, the answers it provides were necessary to its functioning and to round off the whole ordeal.
I think this is a good movie.… Expand

One of the great Australian movies.
This movie is as much a study on relationships as it is murder mystery.
