Although their timeline is covered, the majority of this doc is about the duo that managed them. Chris Stamp and Kit Lambert wanted to be filmmakers, so they decided to find a music group for their subject. This grew into a very influential partnership with the band. This film's biggest flaw is the lack of editorial judgment. Almost every quote goes on too long. After the point is made, they stumble on, repeating themselves. It is crammed with frantically edited footage of the band from all stages (on and off), but the focus is on the titular characters, who drone on in endless soundbites. For hardcore fans of The Who or lovers of rock history sidebars. Expand
