Alan J. Pakula directs with an aptly chilly eye on blue steel and grey walls, favouring whirring tape recorders and silently lurking voyeurs. Maybe it's biggest curse is being a thriller. And everything else that this film does so beautifully, is enough to lift it.

Le seul intérêt de ce film miteux et calamiteux, c’est bien sûr la si jolie et si sexy Jane Fonda qui incarne ici une call girl pas bégueule et pas farouche… bien qu’elle soit coiffée bizarrement, pour ne pas dire n’importe comment (on dirait une perruque !) mais c’était la mode, je suppose,Le seul intérêt de ce film miteux et calamiteux, c’est bien sûr la si jolie et si sexy Jane Fonda qui incarne ici une call girl pas bégueule et pas farouche… bien qu’elle soit coiffée bizarrement, pour ne pas dire n’importe comment (on dirait une perruque !) mais c’était la mode, je suppose, en ces débuts des années 70.

La mode aussi du féminisme (à ce qu’il paraît) et donc… les nanas brûlaient leurs soutifs (en signe de protestation contre le patriarcat) et c’était une bonne et chouette idée… même le réalisateur endormi l’a bien compris, lui qui filme Jane en pull en train de marcher dans la rue ou bien en débardeur à une soirée… sus aux soutifs !

Donald Sutherland tente bien de rester stoïque mais c’est difficile… même pour un détective privé comme lui, très professionnel. Mais après tout, elle aussi est une professionnelle… Quoi qu’il en soit, le couple improbable fait la paire afin de retrouver un blaireau disparu.

Une enquête qui tourne court (le spectateur s’endort) ou plutôt qui tourne en rond et n’en finit pas de se traîner comme un hamster mort. Dire que le film a deux de tension, voire beaucoup moins, c’est rester très loin de la vérité, malgré Jane, ravissante évidemment ! le scénar est celui d’un nanar pas frais boulotté par un alcoolique tombé dans le coma (éthylique) : forcément, alors qu’il regardait ça ou tentait de regarder ce film de merde, le hamster s’est pendu dans sa cage, juste après avoir écrit ‘va chier, film de merde !!’… Expand
