What I can add, and what the less favorable reviewers miss, is this is a film by for and about intuitive feeling; it's for iNtuitive Feelers. It will have less relevance and meaning to those who strongly prefer Thinking over Feeling. The story breakthru came from Selma Hayek. Throw out the vague story of the book; throw out the story of Gibran's own life. Write a new story more mythological and more ordinary; tell it from the viewpoint of a young child. Genius. Narrative gold. Production values are at 100%. On the DVD you can view the complete animatic, where the Disney-level imagination and visual compositions are already evident. Expand

The whole thing is tied together by a family friendly story about a poet under house arrest, the woman who cleans the house, and her mischievous daughter. Expand

Such a beautiful spiritual movie that differs radically from “12 years or below” animated movies out there (Minions, Frozen, Shaun the sheep movie...). Something that an adult can watch without falling asleep.
Definitely the best animation

Definitely the best animation film of 2015 considering that it had a budget of just 12M $!! (Frozen for example had more than 12x the money at 150M $).

Another animated film for 2015 and didn't end up being one of the best, but still works in any way. The Prophet will leave you wanting more and more after watching this one.
