Now compare this with Joss Whedon's masterpiece, how well he introduced the characters, showed their adventures, separated in a battle and ended the Infinity saga in the best way.
Now, this damn Zack, you still haven't introduced half of your characters!!! Then you're going to make a group?! Just go and make a group on WhatsApp, it will cost less, by God.
It has only a few strong points: Ezra Miller's presence, Gol Gadot's presence (which has dropped drastically) and a sewer battle. That's it!!!!!!!… Expand

Most people problems with the movie is the comic accuracy which i have not known too well, the scenes that are left out which i did understand, and maybe the story editing for some people, while i am here as a defender because all you have toMost people problems with the movie is the comic accuracy which i have not known too well, the scenes that are left out which i did understand, and maybe the story editing for some people, while i am here as a defender because all you have to do is just enjoy it, it's a simple Superhero story fills with these badass superhero with badass power, performed so well by all the cast, also fills with great and very exciting action pieces, great villain, lot's of cool shot and great CGI (maybe one or two not so good one), it is entertaining, not cheesy, good soundtrack, couple of unnecessary or more of like slow scene but mostly it's just a straight up good time in my opinion, also Justice League is possibly have the best Henry Cavill's performance as Superman ever, he is more badass and cool and great in this one than in his own movie and Batman V Superman, it's 2 hours of fun intense superhero's fest and i really really enjoyed it and i really really love it.… Expand

Unlike Aquaman this wasn't dumb fun it was just plain dumb. MCU took its time to get to Avengers Assemble. DCU wanted the same pay off without any of the work.

What is certain is that this film thrives on a troubled production, with the passing of the baton practically in post-production from Snyder to Whedon. Which has practically reassembled the film from 0 and the results are clearly seen. Superman's mustache digitally removed, Steppenwolf being a figurine rather than a wounded general seeking redemption in Darkseid's eyes, the Cyborg character taking that out of the equation doesn't change the movie in the slightest. Did they really have the courage to pass it off as a film?… Expand

Very bad CGI. Very bad plot and forgettable mashup of heroes with no chemistry between them. Terrible action, even worse than Batman vs Superman. Very bad, not interesting villain.

Although it has major problems, 'Justice League' turned out to be better than expected. Contrary to the constant critic bashing, which to be perfectly honest has gotten out of control and extremely annoying fast for a while now, critics get a good deal of respect from me. Even when my opinions differ to theirs, which has happened a fair number of times, their appraisals and criticisms are very understandable and it is easy to see where they are coming from. 'Justice League' is a case of the film being much better than anticipated, considering the word of mouth and 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' being so disappointing. Is 'Justice League' better than that film? Yes, by quite a bit.

'Justice League' does have its problems. Although the CGI is pretty good on the whole, there is an over-reliance of it and it doesn't always add to some of the scenes. The story has its fun and excitingly compelling moments, but a lot of it does feel rushed, which does see too many abrupt tonal and storytelling shifts, and some of the first half has a cobbled together and rambling quality. Am usually not one to carp about plot holes, much of the time it is a lazy criticism to me, but one can fit the Grand Canyon through some of them and some border on the ridiculous.

The rushed pacing does come at the expense of character development, which tends to be rather flimsy. Particularly true to this is the villain, there is nothing menacing or remotely interesting about him, he's basically a very dull just there sort of character. Ciaran Hinds is completely wasted, while Ray Fisher is somewhat dull. Not all the jokes work, some feel out of place, while the final battle could have had more excitement and Danny Elfman's music score is uninspired and forgettable.

On the other hand, most of the acting is very good. Ben Affleck brings a brooding intensity to Batman and he didn't seem that bored to me. Other bright spots in the cast are Jeremy Irons' very amusing Alfred, Amy Adams' feisty if somewhat underused Lois Lane, Jason Momoa's beautifully judged Aquaman and particularly Gal Gadot's positively show-stopping Wonder Woman. Ezra Miller is amusing, if at times slightly too introverted, as Flash and Henry Cavill looks much more comfortable here than he did in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'. Diane Lane and JK Simmons are also welcome presences.

Visually, 'Justice League' is beautifully shot, far more cohesively edited and its boldly dark and gritty look fits very well within the story. The script is less clunky and dreary and lightened by some nice quirky humour and some jokes are amusing, especially the absolute hoot that involves the magic lasso. The action is mostly nicely choreographed and fun to watch, some of the characters are interesting and the chemistry is great.

In summary, could have been much better but to me it wasn't that bad. 5.5-6/10 Bethany Cox… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a very sad movie. Batman snapping his fingers to reverse Aquaman's existence causing Batman to sacrifice himself was truly sad. The Black Panther coming in through a nonexisting portal from the movie 'chaos' was truly a sad time as Chadwick Boseman died of cancer before he could actually play the part of Black Panther in the justice league. I did enjoy this movie because after watching it I gained powers such as laser eyes and ultimate kryptonian farts. This is truly the best drama movie to watch. But this is a terrible example of company greed, first off the first scene is of Superman with a CGI mouth just from that alone you know it’s going to be a train wreck. It just doesn’t get any better from there, the acting is just so plain Wonder Woman came out months before this and she was great in this movie here she’s just giving a dull performance and it shows. Can we just mention the CGI good lord it’s dreadful Steppenwolf looks god awful and so does Cyborg. Overall this is a huge mess and thank god Zack Snyder got to do his cut. This movie was not made by Zack Snyder at all. Give special effects to tasteless jokes and bad characters. Steppenwolf's character is extremely obnoxious.

Ok so I'll admit, first off, that I'm not an expert in any way when it comes to DC/Marvel stories, so I watched this film going in blind, as it were. There is, unsurprisingly, plenty of action and good CGI visuals to keep you entertained. Well, considering that Joss Whedon made extensive changes to this movie after Zack Snyder left the project, I’m pretty unimpressed by what we got in Justice League. This first big group movie for the DCEU brings together 6 superheroes, similarly to The Avengers, to help face a world ending threat. On the surface, with Joss Whedon working on it, that all seems like a great idea considering how good the first Avengers movie was. Unfortunately, when you look at the fine print, this film doesn’t live up to any of those expectations and is a huge letdown in a lot of ways. The acting is decent but the movie doesn’t make great use of it’s A-list actors, which it has a fair amount of. The story is nothing new and the script is pretty lackluster and doesn’t really give any characters moments to shine or do something memorable. The scenes aren’t quite as bad as they were in Suicide Squad, but they only rise above them by a little bit and don’t really earn redemption from the two terrible movies of 2016, Suicide Squad and Dawn of Justice. The dialogue is weird and awkward at times which makes the movie’s attempts at humor feel iffy and come short and even a lot of the serious scenes don’t work too well either. This movie doesn’t flow smoothly in the way that The Avengers did, making it feel like a drag and be unenjoyable at times. The heroes themselves are a big problem. They are thinly written and given little backstory, so we don’t learn too much about them, which is an issue because we’ve seen very little of some of them before the movie. Only half of the heroes had substantial appearances before the movie and they needed a lot more context and screentime to work and be effective in the movie. They feel underexplored both before and during the movie, which sucks because many of these characters are iconic and well known in the DC universe. So, we have missed opportunities there. The final fight of the movie makes Steppenwolf, the villain, feel really underwhelming and doesn’t make him seem powerful enough to be a worthy adversary to the Justice League, which lowers the stakes of the movie a bit. The end of the movie is predictable and cliche and doesn’t leave any surprises or twists waiting for us. My best description for this movie that it’s a poor man’s version of The Avengers and I wouldn’t recommend watching this movie to anyone who expects the big group film quality that we’ve seen in the MCU.… Expand

After the huge success of Disney and Marvel Comics’ The Avengers on the big screen in 2012, Warner Bros. and DC Comics make their own team superhero movie for the fifth instalment in DC Extended Universe featuring iconic DC Comics superheroes teaming up together for the first time on the big screen.

After the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the world still mourns Superman’s death and humanity now fear something bad will happen soon now that their saviour is gone for good. They are correct. Steppenwolf (Hinds) and his army of Parademons from Apokolips have begun their invasion of Earth and successfully retrieve one of the three Mother Boxes guarded by the Amazons in Themyscira.

After learning that Steppenwolf have return to Earth from the Amazons, Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gadot) meets up with Bruce Wayne/Batman (Affleck) about his recent invasion and told him the history of Steppenwolf’s first invasion of Earth and his first defeat at the hands of humans, Amazons and Atlanteans. After his first defeat, the three Mother Boxes which originally belong to him were left behind and each was guarded by three factions. Batman himself has encountered a Parademon back in Gotham City.

Not powerful enough to stop Steppenwolf and his Parademons from retrieving the remaining Mother Boxes, they recruit three metahumans with superpowers which consists of Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Victor Stone/Cyborg and Barry Allen/Flash. With five of them together as a team, they must stop Steppenwolf at all cost before it is too late.

To be honest, I was kind of disappointed how the movie turned out to be. First of all, many scenes which were shown in the trailers were not in the movie at all. There are some exact same scenes from the trailers but they were replaced with different dialogues in the movie which I find it very ridiculous. Reshooting the exact same scenes just to replace with different dialogues is really wasting time, money and efforts. Those scenes from the trailers should have kept in the final cut.

The movie runtime, 120 minutes, is totally not enough time for team superhero movie. If it is a solo movie, that is acceptable but not a team movie. With that amount of runtime, there were not enough time for character developments especially for Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash since they lacked their own solo movies. With no backstories for them, they become uninteresting characters. Even Steppenwolf lacked character development for a villain, which made him the weakest villain in the franchise.

It is also fine for the movie going for a lighter tone since the previous instalments were darker tone but it also caused some inconsistency for the movie. Despite being directed by Zack Snyder, this is not exactly Zack’s movie because the tones are not exactly matched his directing style and it is more to Joss Whedon’s movie, who directed the reshoots after Zack left production due to personal tragedy. I felt that the movie should have been delayed instead of finding another director to finish the movie.

Some of the CGIs in the movie were really terrible especially for Henry Cavill. The actor has grown a moustache for his other movie role with another movie studio and was contracted to keep the moustache. Due to his contract, he was unable to shave and was forced to digitally remove the moustache which ended up much worse than I thought. It was really disgusting and odd when he smiles in the movie. It was also another reason why the movie should have been delayed.

The performances of the cast are great especially for Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Gal Gadot but their performance are not enough to save the quality of this movie. In addition to the quality, replacing Junkie XL with Danny Elfman as composer by Joss Whedon is a totally bad move because Elfman ended up not composing any memorable scores for the movie. If you are hoping for Director’s Cut, you might as well forget about it. In case if you are still interested, stay back for a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene.… Expand

El universo creado por Zack Snyder iba a ser mucho más espectacular y exitoso que el que están estableciendo. La acción, las escenas de acción, son muy muy pochas, tienen poco dinamismo y no aportan nada, y no voy a hablar de la cámara lenta, porque en esta película aún lo soporto, pero no demasiado.
Los personajes tienen muy poco trasfondo, no se saben bien sus motivos, ni sus miedos, ni nada, todo metido con calzador, no puedes hacer una película sobre un grupo de superhéroes con personajes tan carismáticos sin antes haber hecho, mínimo, una película de cada uno para presentarlos individualmente, porque no puedes plantear mitad de esta película en presentar a los que aún no se habían presentado, eso no se puede hacer, vaya.
No entiendo el porqué de pintar a Flash como si fuera tonto, como el graciosete del grupo, el humor que manejan, es muy muy penoso, se les descontrola, lo introducen en momentos en los que no podía estar.
Y bueno, no quiero hablar del villano, qué pocho la madre que me parió, motivos, ninguno… Expand

This movie left me confused. No motive from the horned guy antagonist, lack of character setup (how much can you really cram in 2 hours), no real story. It seems all the fun materials are those that are in the trailer.

If you are any kind of fan of comics or the cartoons you will enjoy this film. The humor is different than that of Thor Ragnarok. Not to say that films humor was bad, but its different. If you are worried that this film is too dark like some people were complaining about Batman vs Superman, Its not. The flash is the humor in this film and its rightfully so. Very entertaining, very fun, lots of easter eggs and fan service here. Stay through the entire credits. Honestly I think by now its obvious that the critics are either biased or tainted or both when it comes to super hero comic films. I think that they think the standard should be set by Marvel and any more that doesnt follow their formula is not good enough. Its seems obvious that most of the fan base enjoyed or enjoys this movie (just like with Batman vs Superman) and most critics either didnt or are so so about this movie. (POST EDIT) After watching infinity war I had to lower the score here to a 6 after rewatching. EDIT: After watching The Snyder Cut I had to lower the score again. While I enjoyed the theatrical cut, the sSnyder cut is 10X better. The Snyder cut had scenes that didnt need to be there but overall, it was a much better thought out movie that gives most of the characters their due.… Expand

The first Justice League "team up" style film felt a bit rushed. We didn't get a solo Batman, Cyborg, Flash, or Aquaman film before the team up happened. The release of the film wasn't the only thing that was rushed. Because the majority ofThe first Justice League "team up" style film felt a bit rushed. We didn't get a solo Batman, Cyborg, Flash, or Aquaman film before the team up happened. The release of the film wasn't the only thing that was rushed. Because the majority of the main characters hadn't been introduced to the audience, the movie wasted a lot of time with drawn out set ups before the plot really got to take off. When the action ramped up though, it was damn exciting. The fight choreography for Batman particularly was excellent. Better Batman action, in my opinion, than the Christopher Nolan directed Batman series of films. Justice League's Batman made excellent use of stealth, gadgets, fighting technique, and his fear factor. One scene of Affleck's Batman felt more authentic to the character than anything I saw in three Bale performances. The writing for Justice League is again, rushed. Conversations happen really quick, and although the action is shot well, it still goes by in a flash. Speaking of, Flash as a character was well portrayed by Ezra Miller. Although Miller wasn't a very apt casting choice, he still did a very good job just by the merit of being a great actor. His character gets very little time to shine, but was still enjoyable.
Cyborg's time on screen is equally short, but I thought equally enjoyable. Ray Fisher played a convincing Cyborg and portrayed the humanistic struggles of the character well. Obviously this movie does not compare with The Avengers and the MARVEL franchise of films by any metric, but it does make a good effort despite the studio rushing it out into theaters a few years ahead of schedule. If DC and Warner Brothers had taken their time, and made Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg, and Batman films before releasing Justice League, I think this series would have been on par with their comic franchise rivals.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Back when I saw this movie, I was really confused. Most of the logic in the film made no sense:

1. Superman is better than the entire Justice League combined. Then why does Justice League even exist when Superman can do everything alone, this film will never explain.

2. Superman is equally fast, if not faster, than Flash. Then why is Flash even a thing, this film will never explain.

3. Cyborg is good enough to be in Justice League, but Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter don't even exist. Why, this film will never explain.

4. Steppenwolf's army is so weak, even the warriors of Amazon and Atlantic people can beat the hell out of them. Then how are they even a threat, this film will never explain.

5. Superman blows out of his coffin because of which his shirt and coat get burnt away, but his pants are still on, showing him shirtless. Will the same thing happen with Wonder Woman also, this film will never explain.

And most importantly,

6. HOW ON EARTH (literally) IS AQUAMAN FIGHTING OUTSIDE WATER, AND THAT TOO WITH SUCH PERFECTION!?!?!

The only good scene in this whole film was when Superman was fighting with Flash in slow motion (or rather Flash was just trying to run away from Superman) for 30 seconds. But you can just watch that scene on YouTube. And it will seem even more entertaining without any context.

But later on I learnt about how Warner Bros had brought in Joss Whedon to finish the movie while Zack Snyder had left for his daughter's death and that completely butchered the movie. And after having watched the Snyder Cut I realised this movie was even worse than what I remembered. Although I don't hate Joss Whedon the way all these toxic Snyder stans do, he did a pretty terrible work here. He literally had just one job - consult Snyder and ask what has to be done, and then add CGI to the rough cut.

I think I will rewatch this movie one more time sometime in the future, when I have nothing better to do. Then I may even reconsider adding some more points in this review that I may have forgotten to write now.… Expand

Remove the slow motion scenes and this movie would be under 3 hours and 30 minutes. The movie spends a lot of time building up a better background for each character, and that's probably the best part. Ray Fisher actually seemed likeable this time around, whereas his character was the worst in Whedon's version. Ezra Miller is still a trash actor trying his best to be Tom Holland, which isn't someone I'd aspire to act like, at least not his version of Spiderman. They both lost their ADHD meds and took cocaine as a substitute. At least in the Flash's case it kind of makes sense, but it is still annoying and does not make him an endearing character. If you were looking for an amazing film, you're not going to find it in this cut. If you were looking for a slight improvement with much more background, you will find that. If you love really bad CGI, they swapped out awful Superman for awful Steppenwolf, so you won't be disappointed!

I'd like to add that I believe D.C.'s characters other than Batman do not make for good film making. They are often overpowered to the point that all of the tension is removed as you know they will never be harmed. Even Superman's death was always known to be a joke. D.C.'s villains have very similar issues as well and them losing always seems so contrived, pathetic, and campy, just as the final few blows in the fight with Steppenwolf were.… Expand

I won't say cut, because this film is more than just a shorter theatrical version, at least half this Whedon movie wasn't in the real director's final movie, and much that was felt completely different through different framing, tone, music, dialogue, lighting, coloration, cgi, etc... and again all of it worse in this version. So as I said, in a vacuum when it came out, this was a meh maybe 4 or 5 rating. But now it lives in a world where the real movie was released, and this store brand version was revealed for the lame attempt at the same story it really was and that it really should never have been made...… Expand

This movie isn't terrible although the CGI and the villain aren't great. After seeing WW84 and WW again I watched tJL and figured out what I don't like about the WW movies. Why do the bad guys want to destroy the Earth? Who knows? Nobody ever justifies the choice of Earth over the trillions of planets in the Milky Way. A lot of rather pointless fighting. I'm a big fan of superhero movies and I had fun watching Justice League. It's not a perfect movie, but I enjoyed seeing my favorite DC superhero team up to defeat the big bad villain. I was excited for this movie. But I came out a little disappointed. The dialogue was cheesy, the CGI was rather mediocre, and it could have been done a little better. 5/10.
