It was far too over the top to be grounded in any kind of reality or weight that the Jurassic Park movies usually present. The acting was campy, characters were stupid, the CG was average when used (although some noticeable practical effects were noticed and appreciated), and the story and ending were laughable. Not only that but the big bad dinosaur was nearly identical to the one from Jurassic World. This may very well be the worst of the Jurassic Park sequels, even besting Jurassic Park III simply because it was much longer... Expand

This movie could have been a lot better than what the Producers and Writers created for the audience. I'm glad I only rented it on Amazon and even then, I feel like I got cheated. The actors were great, the story line was garbage.

Maybe Hollywood needs to sit down for a moment and do some soul searching because it hasn't produced nearly the same volume of great movies it created 20-30 years ago. At this point, it's seriously safer to just watch a Bollywood Film. Hollywood needs to lay off the Medical Cocaine.

Liberal fantasy garbage. With what to them would be a happy and moral ending, but in reality would cause a large number of innocent deaths. A PETA wet dream.

Bayona. Before finalizing its drawn-out closing credits, I witnessed a thank-you line alone in the dark, with an exquisite composition in its very last seconds before the post-credits scene, a first name and a surname that encompass the most appreciable and single improvement that can be highlighted in the eyes of common viewers: Guillermo del Toro. In addition to their friendship and unbreakable 'orgullo'- written in Spanish, - they both share advice on the different audiovisual projects that they carry out, from the most imperceptible details to the most important ones, in this case: the stifling atmosphere that inundates the whole pic for everybody's enjoyment, Bayona' and Del Toro's imagery.

"Fallen Kingdom," always lewdly ruled by an unthinkable narrative incongruity and a soaring fandango in the devices used to move forward the plot, is a progression of varying-quality set-pieces differing from the increasing suspenseful anticipations from start to finish. Spanish filmmaker J.A. Bayona described the second installment of this new 'Jurassic' trilogy as the darkest, most gothic in the entire saga in the months prior to its release, and there's nothing more than truth in his words, at least, in most of the taut action sequences on the island and the mansion. Even with MPAA's PG-13 rating as a "restriction," Bayona and cinematographer Oscar Faura find ways to bath the film in an unco survival horror from the middle of the second act, and although it suffers from a wounding disconnection between the genres it handles, artistically feeds off the wonderful camera work, a wild color palette and Michael Giacchino's uncommonly weak soundtrack that gets its only point of glory in the variations of the original franchise theme. Having as basis the 2015 Hollywood prequel, huge surprises were predicted for this new entry, and although the writing was an unhopeful horizon, the visual potential was the main prey for depredators, but even with a fabulous crew, such hopes faded away once the movie is over. Relegating Chris Patt's natural charm to give the chance a "comic-relief" as clumsy as uninteresting is one of its biggest cons, fortifying it with the weak performances of the leading actors and some one-liners lacking in effect. The most discussed issue of the previous film was Claire's footwear, fleeing through a muddy jungle or the high-tech park, this time, naysayers will have reasons to criticize because she becomes the typical, currently unwanted damsel in distress that must be rescued by a man, displaying even an artificial and totally unnecessary "romantic" moment. Even coming from good actors, the performances are medium-quality. The leading actors, even more, their chemistry, the little spark from the first film. They intend to get it back by means of no-more-of-forty-second interactions. Many of the characters are deprived of their essence and potential on screen: Chris Pratt gives up his inherent comic-factor for being the hero; Daniella Pineda pretends to be the very first LGBT character but they are afraid to show it; Bryce Dallas Howard doesn't get a significant plot weight beyond being the target for deception; and Justice Smith is entrusted with a repellent, tasteless character, there is no force in performances or characters here; a really harmful feature.

It's not possible to disclaim the amazing cinematography and certain high-tension set-pieces that give you goosebumps in "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" by J.A. Bayona, in the same way, it's fair to appreciate the neat construction of some atmospheres brimming with suspense and mainstream-horror-genre tropes that embed their claws with intolerable tenacity. Although moderately efficient and unusual by the "Jurassic" franchise, the darkness and drama the director intends to endow his story don't get a truly effect due to, first of all, the PG-13 barrier between its purposes, and secondly, the discrepancy between the menacing pictures and the frightened script that obviously prevails when it's evaluated as a whole. The fingers of one hand can be useful to count the qualities in favor of this uneven, disappointing sequel, a movie that opens the way for the upcoming, barnstorming cinematic climax. Once more a blockbuster with little soul and a lot of pyrotechnics that will surely be an overseas summer box office smasher thanks to an instinctively striking, aggressive mise-en-scène and the hook provoked by the magnetic leading duo - Pratt and his lizards - however, it will sink in with respect to the summer competitors due to unfunny, medium-quality performances, a short-of-innovation soundtrack, and a simply poor, disjointed narrative and storyline. All this coming to the conclusion that the worst sin committed by this film was to fetter freedom to an artist, in every sense of the word. J. A. Bayona was able to achieve big, praiseworthy things, such as taming the wildest beasts of entertainment.

The change of scenery was refreshing and the embracing of both the horror elements and the B-Movie qualities that the previous sequels refused to embrace worked surprisingly well. That said, copying the idea of the setting from one of the worse sequels, the Lost World, is not necessarily the best idea. The creature effects don’t work very well and the characters are weak as hell. All in all a bland sequel. Expand

Because people will kill these dinosaurs roaming free like that at the end of the movie. Hunters will kill them all. And also because if they kill humans, they will be killed. Did this idotic writer think the average audience member's general IQ was in the sub-60 range? Bad news, the average is 100. This line was quick followed by DNA research as being claimed as programming a dino to obey human command. The people beind this were clearly in the 10-point range (animal intelligence), as this would mean that ANY species could be modified to be commanded, even people. This was a cash grab on the title, nothing more. The rest of the movie is equally vapid, and not worth talking about. The only highlight was the ass-shots, and covered breast shots that were painfully obvious. This should have been a made for TV movie, not cinematic. The second most incompentent line is about 10 minutes later (half-way through this thing), when it is claimed that the familial mother will activate the genetic code of the offspring. Not due to even more DNA magic, but because that is how the world works. Hell, even the CG/Amimation is terrible at times. For a movie where hald the cast is CG, that is quite pathetic. Finally, there is a scene that I will not spoil except to say the pricing is so juvenile that it proves this was written for chidren, under the age of 10. This should have been tossed into the vault and never seen the light of day. Just like the writer & director. Razzies, do you worst. Expand

This movie assaulted you with moments that even with an elementary level knowledge of things like blood would make no sense. The first chunk of this movie was a play by play duplicate of The Lost World, had idiotic things happen like lava falling on a dinos head and he just shook it off like it was hot water.

The ending of movie goes so far into la la land that by the end "twist" your eyes will roll so far in the back of your head you will be able to watch your brain rot.

It will take one hell of a movie to be unleashed upon the Earth to take this movie's spot as my number one Worst movie of 2018.

It is preposterous, and there are huge logical inconsistencies and plot holes, but because it embraces its place as a lean, B-caliber monster movie, Jurassic World 2 doesn't get the deservedly unkind comparisons to Spielberg's work in the series.

Now in saying that, it's a huge disappointment because it's an alright follow up to the amazing classic that is Jurassic Park. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is one of the better sequels in the Jurassic Park series, then again the only movie it beats is Jurassic Park III, which isn't saying much. All the gripes people had about Jurassic World are back again, but this time much MUCH worse! Could we please be done with the weaponizing dinosaurs and genetic engineering sub-plots?! They weren't good the first time around and now they're even worse. These movies really need to learn how to handle their characters. There's no character development. Every character is the exact same from the last movie. Also, quit turning Jurassic Park into a monster movie franchise. Not one scene in this movie wowed me either, which is extremely unusual for a Jurassic Park movie. The shock and awe are apparently gone. It also doesn't help that you saw the whole movie in the last trailer. But aside from all of these negatives, ultimately you can go to this movie and be entertained for 2 hours. It also has a pretty interesting moral dilemma and does something at the end of the film that I'm really intrigued to see where they take it. So, yeah, it's a stupid monster movie with a lot of flaws, but it's entertaining. Is it worth the ticket price, well that's up to you? C- Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Although it lacks the mystery from the original, it's still a fun, action-packed Dino movie with thrills that takes the franchise to a whole new direction. Most scenes have a familiarity aspect to them. Better than The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 in my opinion. Not better than Jurassic World though. The climax did not live up to the one from the first Jurassic World. Expand

It is one the worst movies I've seen in a long while. It's so bad that it made me sign up for Metacritic to post a review and rate the movie. The plot is ludicrous, the villains are caricatures, half the directing is ham-fisted, and the score is as manipulative on your emotions and nostalgia as it can be. It completely and totally squanders everything that makes Jurassic Park interesting, compelling and clever, and dumbs it down into a Saturday morning cartoon. That's not to say the last 4 haven't done that in various ways, but this is just too much. The reliance on and freedom of CGI these days is truly ruining movies. It starts off fun and even kind of funny, and then it just nosedives until it can't dive anymore. I give it credit for two things, and that is the animatronics used for the more still dinosaurs (Blue the raptor and T-rex) and for not over-saturating the hell out of the color, like the previous movie did. It was still very cheesily bloomy, but at least it didn't look like a TV in Best Buy. Even if you're just trying to watch this for fun, like I was, knowing that Jurassic World was a travesty in comparison to the original, it's just honestly insulting and dumbfounding at how bad it is at a certain point. With such money being spent, you would think the heads of studios, directors or writers would be the best of the best, but it just goes to show they really have no idea what they're doing, even at the top of the game. This movie does have some big noticeable flaws but is still entertaining. I'd rank this as the second-to-the-last film in the franchise rankings.

The main problem is the villains. Their motivations and actions seem to exist to further the plot rather than come off natural. This especially feels odd considering how straight murdery and cartoonishly evil they are. In the previous films, the antagonists were usually more nuanced, amoral and sometimes acting within legality. None of them were out to murder the protagonists. The severe switch in tone leaves the distinct taste of disconnect. The main antagonist is especially muddled in his or her execution. (The villain's identity is easy to predict, but since it is a reveal in the movie, I'll respect it and keep mum on details.) A lot of his dialogue is just exposition, including one reveal that comes off at the oddest moment in the film. Plus, the villain appeared to have access to other streams of revenue; he/shedidn't seem to need to take the risks of managing dangerous dinosaurs for profit.

There are also a few other plot issues: Hammond having a business partner and fellow misguided visionary no one's ever mentioned before, one character just abruptly disappears from the film in the third act, and the supporting protagonists are separated from the leads for way too long.

Still, there is a lot to enjoy. Pratt and Howard are both charming with some great lines. I thought the child actress did a pretty good job. I liked the nerdy guy who mentions the logical point throughout that they'll probably die. Even the villain does have one good scene with Howard and Pratt where he/she makes one sound argument.

The film looks and sounds pretty good. Director J.A. Bayona has a knack with visuals and there are some nice shots in this. The mansion that takes up a good portion of this film, which is part gothic residential quarters, dinosaur museum, and underground lab, is a really impressive setting. The music really sets a tone, including a dramatic spooky choral piece for the most dangerous dinosaur.

You've seen this film before. It is every action film where a handsome guy gets pulled out of his newly found calm life by a beautiful woman who needs his help. But with dinosaurs.

With that being said, I'd totally watch the film I just described above, if it wasn't intently marketed to children, and by doing so, removed itself from being able to do anything interesting, controversial or original with that concept. Jurassic Park unfortunately falls short of being anything besides a formulated cash grab, because its an ip that audiences are still unfortunately interested in. It really could be turned into something amazing, like the Mission Impossible franchise, or at least more fun like the Fast and Furious franchise, where they clearly have a self awareness of how ridiculous their premises are. And in doing so, have become far more enjoyable to watch. But no, we're forced to take a 6th installment of the same dinosaur franchise very very very seriously, and suspend any disbelief of modern society immediately terminating any and all discussion of yet another genetically modified super dinosaur. Which, in some ways is a metaphor for the film itself.

The unique selling point of this movie is that there is a genetically modified dinosaur, just like the last movie. This GM dinosaur is smaller, so that they can set the climax of the movie in a house. This makes the movie a re-tread of events in the last move, albeit with a smaller scope and cheaper sets. Chis Pratt has stopped working out as much and looks a bit fatter than in the last movie. There also seems to be this weird phenomenon in which a dinosaur is friends with Chris Pratt and keeps risking its life to protect him. Why does this dinosaur love Chris Pratt so much? Extensive animal training? No, there is no reason whatsoever, in fact this dinosaur has been left to it's own devices, abandoned since the last movie. There is fun to be had if you leave your brain at the door and enjoy the serviceable CGI. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. ‘’We cannot let them die"

Of course you can not let them die, they would run out of business.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is probably the most disjointed sequel I've seen in a long time, not only the story is incredibly simplistic, the succession of events is laughable and ridiculous.

The script? An absolute disaster full of plot holes that they patch with what they have at hand and what is coming out.

They take Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) back to the island to open a door and activate a tracker.
Owen returns to the island to tame a dinosaur and then they shoot him with a tranquilizer leaving him at the mercy of a volcano and other dinosaurs around and yet Dr. Zia Rodriguez who left him there is surprised that he is still alive after she abandoned him in such a way. Yes she was being threatened but for God's sake.
From that on both characters couldn't be more stupid and disposable.

The rest of the plot handles a good theme but it's evident the repetition. Seriously, the climax of the film is an auction that goes out of control?
The Indoraptor is a ridiculous creation just like the Indominus Rex designed to be the villain of the moment and it's amazing how its size fits perfectly for any place it appears within the Lockwood Mansion.

The clone girl? Irrelevant in every sense and its narrative arc only serves for the decision she takes at the end.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a mess that tried to mix everything possible in the most simple plot that could have established, besides spending what could have been the perfect end to the franchise: the dinosaurs falling victim once again to extinction. That scene of the dinosaur being swallowed by the smoke and lava of the volcano was the most redeemable thing of the film because it was a truly dramatic moment.
Adding the good visual effects and a more inspired score by Michael Giacchino compared to the one of the previous film are among the few things worth noting about Fallen Kingdom.

Worse yet the ending is so open that feels clumsy and forced and even problematic because what it seems to indicate sounds more like an eventual Planet of the Dinosaurs than anything else. Time will tell, after all Jurassica Park remains a good business, but it needs to be a better business.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the dumbest film I have seen in a while. I'm not saying that it is a horrible film, I wouldn't even say that I hated it, but I feel as though that is only because I was laughing at how unbelievably stupid it is. For the first 50 minutes, (from the opening to the part when they jump that truck onto the boat) the movie was fairly OK. However, once they get onto the boat the movie crashes harder than the Titanic. For some reason, the filmmakers thought it would be a good idea to set the second half of their Jurassic Park movie in a big old rich man's mansion. Even though I enjoyed the first 50 minutes, they were far from perfect. They split Owen and Claire up in this movie just to have them come back together again. Ian Malcolm was completely wasted and contained no importance to the plot and was merely there for fan service. Two of the new characters are Zia, a doctor for dinosaurs who has actually never been in person with a dino, and Franklin, and annoying tech guy stereotype who screams annoyingly and is scarred of everything. The villains are complete and total cartoon characters. Toby Jones plays a Donald Trump lookalike who is nothing but a stereotypical jerk businessman who is a jerk who just wants to sell dinosaurs for money. Rafe Spall plays an idiot who is in charge of getting the dinosaurs off the island and to James Cromwell's mansion where he can sell them. And Buffalo Bill is just the worst. James Cromwell is good but he's wasted in the film as discount Hammond, Chris Pratt is Chris Pratt and as usual he is likable, and Brice Dallas Howard is actually much better this time. Even the kid who plays Maisie is pretty good, even though the big reveal of her being a clone is the stupidest thing ever. Actually second stupidest. The stupidest thing ever is the scene where Buffalo Bill can't stop his obsession of collecting teeth. In the chaos of everyone at the dinosaur auction being attacked, Buffalo Bill decided it’s a great time to go in the mansion and ask for his money while countless people are running from the building in terror. He sees the Indoraptor (the custom genetically altered dino in the movie) in a cage and decides he wants one of its teeth for his collection. So he shoots it with 2 tranquilizers and it falls over. He opens up the cage and walks in leaving the door of the cage open. It turns out the Indoraptor was pretending to be tranquilized, so it smiles and winks at the audience. Buffalo Bill then gets eaten and the dinosaur is now loose. And that's how the final Battle starts. Great name by the way, Indoraptor, such a different and more inventive name than the Indominous Rex, the genetically altered dino bad guy from the last movie. Though this movie had great visual effects, some solid performances, and an enjoyable 1st act; the film is a failure on every other front, though it is an entertaining failure. Oh how the Kingdom of the once great Jurassic Park series has fallen. To quote Dr. Ian Malcolm in the first Jurassic Park: "I'll tell you the problem with the scientific power that you're using here, it didn't require any discipline to attain it. You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now, you’re selling it. You’re selling it. You’re selling it. Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." Expand

PastWhen the first details of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's story were published long before the film came out, it didn't exactly give me hope for the quality of the film. The concept of Jurassic Park/World is fantastic, for one movie. Past that, it gets a bit hairy and it has always seemed like that they weren't exactly sure how high quality the sequels would be, but they knew they wanted to make money. Fallen Kingdom falls into that same rut. The premise of the story isn't that bad: Owen and Claire agree to go back to the island to rescue some of the dinosaurs because the volcano on the island is about to erupt. But, inevitably, the film quickly disposes of this premise and moves on to a different storyline that I would call "Jurassic Mansion". I really couldn't believe that the rest of the movie took place in one location, a mansion. Sure, it's large and everything but...I wasn't a fan of this choice at all. Not to mention that the story really loses steam once they reach the mansion and falls into the common tendencies of previous Jurassic films. Lots of dinosaurs escaping, killing people, and almost killing main characters but somehow failing to do so. There is about eight metric tons of fan service in this film as well. It's basically projected to the audience to think "Hey, that reminds me of Jurassic Park! Hey, that reminds me of The Lost World!" during certain scenes because it's so damn similar. Typically with films like this I don't go in expecting a masterpiece, but I expect to have fun and be entertained. With Fallen Kingdom, I was entertained at times, and I had fun at times, but it was never consistent. The production and acting of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard (not the nerdy computer guy and the female doctor...I found them to be incredibly annoying and unnecessary in many of their scenes) is top notch, as expected, but ultimately Fallen Kingdom failed to reach even a satisfactory level of entertainment. Full disclosure, I slept on and off throughout the middle portion of it, perhaps for 10 or 20 minutes total, so it might actually be worse than I'm aware of. Every single character managed to do or say something breathtakingly stupid and the entire plot repeatedly depends on these acts of inexplicable idiocy, making it perhaps the finest example possible of an "idiot plot". I found myself repeatedly thinking, "why the heck would they ever do that?" or "why on earth would that ever happen?" or "why would anyone ever possibly think that?", and the answer was always supplied shortly thereafter by the story going in some stupid direction that it couldn't have gone in without the initial stupid thing happening. I can shut myThese movies are supposed to be fun, or, at the very least, entertaining. But this is a mess and suffers from a lot of the problems the previous sequels did which was "we need to find a way to get people back on the island!" I can shut my brain off and live with watching a popcorn flick that is generally absurd, but there usually has to be some fun or thrills involved. This had none. Everything was totally predictable from and completely telegraphed from start to finish and even with that, how they pulled it off was lazy at best.

The other thing it suffers from is the entire movie is a snowball effect onto itself. Every time something goes wrong, something else that's equally dramatic or more-so goes wrong. And this continues through the entirety of the film. There's no chance to breathe and start to react to what happened. You're just continuing to be flooded with disasters and unfortunate events even up to and through the end which is another issue... this movie has no real ending, rather, it's a lead up to yet another sequel (which, I'll be honest, I'm more excited about that than I was at any point for this).

Another issue is the characters... you're normally supposed to have strong feelings for or against a character, but in this film, they are so surface level and boring that you don't feel anything for them. They have very little motivation, and even what little motivation they do have is so contrived and forced that it makes you care even less. It's entirely exposition (go here to do this, then find this thing and then do that, then go here so we can do this, all the while having someone overly explain everything that's going on).

Is it my least favorite Jurassic movie? No. That still belongs the JP3. But this is not far off. If you haven't seen this, I wouldn't bother going to the theater for it. I wouldn't even waste a Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu subscription on it because, trust me, your time is more valuable than watching this. Unless you literally have two-and-a-half hours to sit and veg out... no, even then I'd say to find something else to watch.

'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' on the other hand, isn't just dumb, it's actually poorly written, unevenly paced, uses visual nostalgia nods that feel forced rather than organic, and our two main characters, for some reason, don't feel the same as they did from the previous movie. Not that it matters too much since they are bland, which pains me to say that, since they are played by usually talented actors. We see Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) is given a task by Eli Mills (Rafe Spall) to head back to Isla Nublar (where the Jurassic World incident occurred three years previously) to retrieve some of the creatures, as he promises her that they will put them in a new home island where they can be safe. They also suggest that she recruits Owen (Chris Pratt) as he raised and trained Blue, the one raptor who always followed his command as we saw in the previous movie. As they arrive on the island, they encounter many dangerous and near-death experiences to which they all manage to escape. However, if you know anything - or too much - about volcanic eruptions, and the consequences it follows, you will be questioning if the filmmakers have done their research. The entire second-half of the movie is where the film really drags itself to the ground. Without giving away too much, let's just say that the villain does reveal themselves, they host an auction of sorts to sell different creatures to the military, and there is another plot twist revolving a supporting character that is so incredibly far-fetched and stupid, I cannot even begin to tell you without spoiling it. You can have fun with this film, but I think it's very clear that 'Jurassic Park' (1993) should not have been a franchise to begin with. John Hammond (who was played by Richard Attenborough) wanted to test out the park before it opened, too many people were harmed and killed in the process, so he decided to close the door on his dreams. Why they opened Jurassic World around 20 years later, I don't know. There is pretty much no more reasons for these sequels to carry on. 'Jurassic World' (2015) would warrant its existence if it was a reboot. Expand

Enjoyable movie with amazing ending. However, the story gets slower when they get out of the island.

When a massive volcano erupts, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard set out to save the dinosaurs from extinction…again. Of course, nefarious forces are out to make a profit. This follows the typical formula: almost non-stop action with people in peril, rescues from unrealistic situations, a child in danger and Pratt's comic charm. There's plenty of outrunning trouble and plenty of PG-13 rated violence. Nothing new here, but the dizzying chases and ample dinos keep it from ever being boring (even though you may roll your eyes at some of the over the top moments). Expand

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Review

Cinematography: 8/10 Jurassic World flows and looks well with what is.

Costume Design: 7.519/10 There are films that place heavy emphasis on attire as a part of intentional design in elaborate ways. I'm becoming stricter with ratings here because attire really creates and contributes to different depths of understanding in certain films. It's not enough to dress a character like Indiana Jones or Wonder Woman then expect everyone to immediately accept them as adventurous or heroic. This adjustment will better help my developing understanding of storytelling as well.

Film Editing: 9/10 Film editing really helps a film become so much more of its intentional design as a complete project especially in a film with so many visual effects.

Make-up and Hair-styling: - /10 This area is tough to analyze when each area isn't so blatant. I'm going not applicable here. But - I will say, I feel as though each character interacting physically with the dinosaurs should be dirtier. Hey, I don't know dinosaur hygiene.

Sound Editing: 8.151/10 The sounds of the dinosaurs are on point. I want to experience the theme park for a more surrounding-wholesome experience.

Visual Effects: 9.491/10 Name another film with realistic dinosaurs living within realistic jungles about volcanic terrain.

Story: 8.959/10 The conversation of genetic manipulation is a touchy though important topic which is backbone to the Jurassic series.

Acting: 8.339/10 The acting works well with the film though the initial scientist with the remote in the beginning makes me question how the acting will be throughout the rest of the film. Talk about having the characters take turns. Not one character seems to have more over the other: there seems to be a balance of dialogue which I find interesting. I think Jurassic World does a good job of putting everyone under a spotlight whether in the depth of their role on a purposeful level or through dialogue.

Personal: Yes, I'm well aware franchises are not always looked upon with the greatest light. Still, I like dinosaurs and I've seen no other films which brings dinosaurs to life other than the Jurassic series (Please -  leave the Land Before Time series alone). There's a theme park which is the next step from the Jurassic films so people can have the Jurassic experience for their selves in real life. All the Jurassic series needs to do now is add a discount coupon to their theme park for everyone that watches their films. Seriously, I'll have more of an inclination to with a reminder. I'll always have an appreciation for the Jurassic series even with other dinosaur films within the field to appreciate.

Overall: 8.494/10

I'have seen Jurassic World and I didn't like it one bit...dull , predictable and un-necessary but this one surprise me. It is full of action, fast paced, over the top...you will not find a realistic movie of course..it is most like a "fast and furios" with dinosurs: it deliver a good entertainment.
It cointains a lots of references from the first film Jurassic Park from 1993.
I'll wait for the next one for sure!

Pretty much your standard big blockbuster film. It's the same relatively safe mix of humor, action, spectacle, and some cashing in on our nostalgia that's been popularized by modern superhero flicks. Unlike it's peers however, Fallen KingdomPretty much your standard big blockbuster film. It's the same relatively safe mix of humor, action, spectacle, and some cashing in on our nostalgia that's been popularized by modern superhero flicks. Unlike it's peers however, Fallen Kingdom lacks the lovable characters that make us sit on the edge of our seats during the bigger set pieces even though we know they aren't actually in any real danger. Pratt and Howard return in the lead roles and they are just as bland as ever. Justice Smith is nothing more than comic relief as all he's given to do is freak out and scream anytime something happens. Daniella Pineda is barely in the movie at all.

The dinosaurs are the real stars. Not only is the velociraptor "Blue" better written than any of her human counterparts, but I was surprised to find that these prehistoric beasts are also capable of invoking an actual emotional response from the audience. I'm not lying when I say that there's a scene involving a Brachiosaurus at the end of the movie's explosive first act that almost killed me. Initially I supported the idea of leaving them on the island to die as they are dangerous animals that already went extinct once. Something changed in me upon actually seeing it happen. The movie could have used this to say something incredibly poignant, but just doesn't. Although I'm fairly certain it thinks it does.

Director J.A. Bayona got his start with the well-received, Guillermo del Toro produced "The Orphanage" and that influence can definitely be felt here. There are times where he shot this like a straight up horror film. Particularly whenever the new hybrid dino is onscreen. It's probably my favorite aspect of the movie. I want to make it very clear that none of Fallen Kingdom's issues have anything to do with Bayona's directing. They all stem from Trevorrow and Connolly's script. The duo were able to come up with plenty of exciting scenarios. They just weren't able to fill them with interesting people.

I absolutely love the way the movie ended. It sets the sequel up to go in an incredible new direction and I really hope they just go full dinosaur apocalypse on us. No matter what they choose to do though these characters will need to be reworked. They were able to get away with the underdevelopment of the protagonists last time thanks to the sheer excitement of the series being revived, but Fallen Kingdom has really suffered because of it. This is still a fun time at the theater, but it's also the Jurassic film with the least amount of substance thus far.

Don't get me wrong, I do like Chris Pratt and I admit Bryce Howard is a cute girl and a seemingly talented actress. However I'd have to say if you saw the last in the Jurassic series... you've pretty much seen this one already. However I'd have to say if you saw the last in the Jurassic series... you've pretty much seen this one already. At least you've seen the effects, the frantic chase scenes, a young child thrown into the mix, and the inexplicable habit of the large carnivorous dinos when they see a camera to turn to their best side and let out a moaning roar for the audience. This series has truly run its course, I knew it was below average when I had pretty much forgot all about it by the next day... Expand

This movie is very predictable and shallow. If Netflix and any other form of entertainment is unavailable, then see the movie. Otherwise, wait until it hits Primetime TV.

I really really liked Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. Kept waiting for it to stumble. Extremely entertaining. More horror than action/adventure.

Bad/unoriginal plot, stupid setup for a sequel, weak dialogues and disrespectful to dinosaurs. The movie looked good though.

A story that doesn't make any sense, it's boring, no content at all. Already didn't enjoy Jurassic world, but this took my love for Jurassic Park series to the next step: dislike.

Sloppy. Not as entertaining as the 2015 one. The dinosaurs in this one are almost harmless.

Good movie, not the best as Jurassic park, but not as bad as the JP3. VERY predictable, and a lot of what the heck moments. That one scene (we all know if you seen it) was so sad. Must stay for the post credit scene.
