The film is beautifully shot, from great locations to great camera angles and placements.
> 2. This is Part 4 and the storyline is still good. That's a rarity. Even the Toy Story franchise could not do well past Part 3.
> Negatives:
> 1. With 77, 128 and 94 kills in John Wick 1, 2 and 3 films (Screenrant.com), and even more in Part 4, it was and still is a bit ridiculous. It is impossible to have so many hitmen in each of the cities covered, in reality. (Two other groups are killing each other in this Part 4 and so more had died outside of John's hands.)
2. There was no accounting for the number of rounds of ammo John used. I had watched Mission Impossible 5 yesterday, I think the best of the series. There, the number of rounds were well accounted for and I like that realism and the need to switch to other solutions instead of continuously firing your fantasy pistol.
3. We should stop the stupid trope that a blind Donnie Yen can be that good at killing. It utterly unrealistic.
4. It's a fact that this film glorifies violence, no other way about it.
5. It is ridiculous that there had been that many killings in this series and there was no involvement of the police?
6. One cannot jump out of the third storey, fall horizontally onto a pickup, denting it significantly and then walk off as if you are still alive. > How would the different age groups rate this: > Children: Not rated for them.

Las actuaciones de los personajes secundarios de primer nivel también Excellent ending for a great saga! very emotional.
Combat scenes are amazing as always, great effot and acting by Keanu Reeves, considering he is 58 years old! If you are a fan of the series, I highly recomend you to watch it, you wont repent, I watched it at a cinema, I strongly suggest you do the same, for honor and respect of this great movie series.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is a vivid example of how to regain confidence in the series. John Wick: Chapter 4 is an illustrative work on your mistakes. John Wick: Chapter 4 is a good finish to the franchise. All storylines are completed, the main character's goal has been achieved. But unfortunately, most likely there will be part 5 with the continuation of the story and it will clearly no longer be able to reach the level with John Wick: Chapter 4. In 4 parts there are some of the best action scenes, they are performed at the level of part 2. The final scene with a long staircase turned out to be excellent, a vivid example of how to make an action scene both memorable and a meme. I'm glad that the series did not go downhill, but again gave out perhaps the best action movie of the year.… Expand

Must be nearly impossible to do better action's scenes. Now we have the better enemy and some new fighters with the deserved protagonism. And dozens of impressive killings to remember and enjoy.

So many homages, (The Warriors and somehow even Hot Rod?) the action is so well done while taking its scale to whole new levels. The overhead fire gun 1 shot scene is a mt. rushmore action sequence.

Ok a few things here that need to be addressed... First off, this movie is way over the top and entertaining as hell! All involved in this movie know it and make no apologies for it as they shouldn't have to anyways. 2nd, and this is where itOk a few things here that need to be addressed... First off, this movie is way over the top and entertaining as hell! All involved in this movie know it and make no apologies for it as they shouldn't have to anyways. 2nd, and this is where it gets interesting and I am amazed that nobody has mentioned it. John Wick Chapter 4 is a "Frankenstein" kind of movie and before you think that's a negative, let me explain.. . Everything about this movie is taken from other iconic cult movies, characters, scenes, as for examples; when it comes down to the tracker, this character is right out of the Clint Eastwood movie "The Man With No Name", you can even hear the old Clint Eastwood western style music when he's in a scene, plus his handling of his modern day era Colt revolver. This tribute or homage to Clint Eastwood's western characters is present throughout the entire movie. And it ain't subtle either, the people behind this movie want you to know that they know you know about it. And they absolutely want you to know, hence why it's so in our faces. Onto the villain, this ultimate villain is right out of old "James Bond" movies, you can't deny it. You have scenes that come out from Blade movies with "rave scenes with similar viewpoints as in "Blade", with a touch of "The Boondock Saints" movie with the head of the German crime family with the fat suit same as the Russian crime boss from the "Boondock Saints" movie, which also takes pieces from "The Joker" character himself with the gold teeths and purple suit. And now, onto the "Caine" character who's the exact same character as the blind Asian man from "Star Wars Rogue One", with the same actor "Donnie Yen" no less. Add a touch of "Groot" from "The Guardian Of The Galaxy" with the "I am Klaus" character. Plus, who can deny "The Marquis De Gramont" using almost the same words as the Frenchman "Merovingian" in the Matrix about "purpose and consequences". But the biggest homage/tribute to an old cult movie is the pursuit of John Wick through Paris, who's trying to get to Sacre-Coeur, which comes from the cult movie "Warriors", not only did they take that whole scene from "Warriors" but they used the same words from that movie, and copied the whole exact scenes from the "Warriors" radio scenes, words and songs, talk about a tribute to a classic cult movie. And the end, where John Wick is sitting on the stairs and leaned over wounded with the sunrise before him, which then cuts and goes back to New York where Winston and The Bowery King pay their respect to the headstone of John Wick's grave, we suddenly see the dog looking into a different direction with surprise and The Bowery King asks Winston "if he thinks John is in heaven or hell" and Winston says "who knows", that's right out of the first ever western that used the formula of the hero riding into the sunset, wounded and where the audience is left to wonder did he live or die, that scene is right out of the great Western Movie "Shane" from the 60's, which is a formula that's been used in tons of movies ever since. And as I stated at first, there's no subtlety about any of it, it's right there in front of us to clearly see and they want us to notice it, know it and love them for doing it. Don't get me wrong, the John Wick character and movie stands on its own, but chapter 4 is not just John Wick, it's a mix of many action film actors and their characters and scenes from pop movie culture to which the movie pays homage/tribute to. Oh and let's not forget the quick nod to "The Men In Black" movie. As I stated, no subtlety what's so ever.… Expand

I remember watching the first John Wick film after it got some surprisingly good reviews and enjoying it quite a bit. The second and third films in the series continued to build the franchise to the point where it was being considered as one of the best action series in decades. And then John Wick: Chapter 4 came out. The hype was already quite high and there was definitely a lot of expectation, and boy did it deliver! I absolutely loved it and it is the first film from 2023 to make my list for Top 10 of 2023. In fact, and I don't say this lightly, I now consider John Wick: Chapter 4 to be the best action movie of all-time. Keanu Reeves anchors the film like only he can but special shout out to Donnie Yen who demonstrates once again why he is truly a legend of action cinema. You can technically watch the fourth installment without having watched the previous three but I don't recommend it. Take the time, immerse yourself in the Wick universe, and you won't be disappointed!… Expand

This film is far to long without the story it deserves. The cast is amazingly talented but wasted in it's gregorius use of gun battles that did nothing for the story it was just the same scene thrown at you over and over and over again. The plot devices used don't add anything to the story not to mention some of the absurd armor uses in the action sequences it kind of reminds me of when we were kids and would hold up our coats pretending to be vampires or you can't see me because I'm holding up the edge of my coat "ridiculous". If you want to see this film "and I don't recommend you do" I would suggest going and sit for the first 45 minutes then go to a quick dinner for about and hour and come back for the rest you will not have missed anything. If you do decide to sit through the entire film I would take some sort of headache medication with you after you sit through the entire thing your brain will be mashed potatoes and not in a good way.… Expand

Ich möchte nichts zur Handlung oder der Action Spoilern und sage nur die Limited Blu Ray Edition ist vorbestellt:) Jeder der den Film schlecht bewertet ist ein Troll! Die Begründung das die Story schlecht sei ist völlig an den Haaren herbeigezogen. Ich gucke ja auch keine Romantische Komödie und beschwere mich über zu wenig Horror oder Actionelemente. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ill start with the good, visually stunning and I mean **** fantastic. Some brilliant camera work along with some creative sequences but only SOME. The colors and general atmosphere is awesome, it has this look about it that really is just John Wick. Also the music accompanies the action very well and I found myself many times really feeling the music along with the fight scenes. The fight scene in the little building at the end when the camera looks top down and in one camera movement follows john through the building is **** phenomenal what an incredible sequence and I wish the movie had more creative moments like that. While they did come up I found them to be far in between (now getting into the negative) long drawn out repetitive action sequences. As I said before there are some really awesome moments but most of the time john fights he kills everyone in exactly the same way. Like in the osaka continental, he flips someone over, shoots them in the head, oh no another guy what is he going to do??? and then he knocks the gun out of their hand and shoots them in the head.I just think there were so many ways to make these action sequences more creative and engaging beyond just letting john pick up another gun. The problem is that most of the time the environment is nothing but cover, but the movies are always at their best when they find creative and brutal ways of using the environment around them to their advantage and it makes the fight scenes so much better to watch. There are a few other things, this movie really pushes the boundaries on what is believable and holy **** **** john actually just doesnt die. Also for some reason john can drive around shooting guys in the head without any effort but the second he comes up against a foe that matters a bit more suddenly its impossible for them to hit each other. But you watch John Wick for one reason and that is to watch keanu obliterate henchmen for a few hours. If you liked Chapter 3 youll probably enjoy this. Overall I thought it was decent but I was hoping for more and am a bit disappointed. There are a few more things I have some questions about but who cares. Nobody does. John says 100 words/10… Expand

They make no apologies for the over the top violence and Keanu as usual is spectacular, Caine's fight scenes were awesome, they played well into his blindness and using other senses. There are some fantastic character building moments for Caine and Wick. Skarsgard played a fantastically scummy character. I loved the ending, even if it was sad... he got his peace, gave another man he called a friend peace (or not, who knows they did cut to black) and is no longer burdened by his broken heart.… Expand

You want action? well, you are going to get all the action you could ever want and then some. A bit to much action actually. A bit to much action actually. Don't get me wrong i love an action packed movie but this is like 2 hrs and 40 minutes long and should have had about 40 minutes trimmed out of it. It's just too long. The action is great and very well done and enjoyable but after a while I started wondering "ok, is this going to end, and move on soon?" outside of the movie being 40 minutes to long. Everything else is great. If you like the other John Wick films you are going to like this one as well. The action like always is very well done and its a fun fast paced action movie which we sadly don't get a lot of these days. the plot as always is simple. Everyone is out to kill John Wick as he tried to put an end to it all. This film does finally end the series which I kind of wish the third one did. as much as I like the series I don't want to see John Wick 9. Just end the series and start something new. So glad they aren't dragging this out any longer.

If you are new to the series go watch it from the first as each movie continues off from the last. Otherwise John Wick Fans should be pretty happy with how they closed this series.… Expand

Still a fun ride, but there's much more of interest that could have been part of this movie. Mia love interest? Koji back-story? Wasted opportunities. Some of the fight sequences are too comic in the style of early martial arts films, and some of the moments too campy.… Expand

This movie was a pure adrenaline rush from start to finish mixed with a story that for me was the best of the franchise. Keanu Reeves is great as always and all the normal supporting cast crush it as usual. Unpopular opinion, but these movies are starting to drag for me. With the last 3 movies, I thought this series was going somewhere; like John Wick gathering a group of jaded assassins ready to take on the High Table, but with this movie IUnpopular opinion, but these movies are starting to drag for me. With the last 3 movies, I thought this series was going somewhere; like John Wick gathering a group of jaded assassins ready to take on the High Table, but with this movie I have no idea where all of this is headed, if it is headed anywhere at all.
Also, the action is slowly becoming Fast and Furious-level ridiculous where all cars are as soft as pillows because they can break people's falls from 4 stories are an action God can be hit 6 times with no injury.
Also, Also, how can people be murdering other people out in public but clubbers keep dancing or drivers keep driving? Does anyone ever call the cops anymore? I know that some police might be under the influence of the High Table but you think they would at least show up.
Also, Also, Also, the stunts and fight choreography are still top notch but fight scenes need to be limited to 10 minutes at the very most, otherwise all tension is lost.
There's a ton of cool new additions to the cast with some new characters that I hope stick around for any future flicks.
I still love the assassin society world-building just want it all to have a little more depth. Let's have all of this mean something in the end, eh?… Expand

The writing is funny and great but i'd still wish john wick would say a bit more. I don't know if this is the best john wick movie, reason for that is because this is such a consistent franchise. I'd have to watch all 4 in one go to really determine which is best

On peut regretter (comme d’habitude) le sang synthétique (rajouté en post-production) mais on ne va pas faire la fine bouche… et puis ce plan-séquence aérien (par exemple) est vraiment… saisissant ! sans compter l’utilisation remarquable des effets spéciaux. Le rythme malgré ses deux heures quarante (plus 10 mn de générique) ne faiblit pas et ce point de vue aussi, le pari est tenu : la machine à tuer John Wick est plus efficace que jamais ! Toujours la classe, le gars Keanu, avec son « Gun Fu » habituel : il est encore ‘breathtaking’ ! Mais hélas, plusieurs choses ne fonctionnent pas : la fin ou plutôt l’épilogue, c ‘est zéro pointé… ou au mieux, ça tombe complètement à plat ; c’est aussi carrément bâclé par rapport à tout le reste. Quant au blaireau et son clébard, c’est un pauvre connard qui n’a rien à faire là (ce putain de clebs non plus, d’ailleurs) : il tire le film vers le bas, très régulièrement ; et c’est presque pareil avec le personnage de Donnie Yen, l’aveugle d’opérette qui nous prend un peu trop pour des cons, trop souvent. L'humour a pour sa part disparu ou lorsqu'il subsiste, est devenu ridicule et vulgairement con. Heureusement que les séquences d’action restent jubilatoires… parce que sinon, ce Wick 4 tutoierait la médiocrité d’un peu trop près. Mais en tant que strict film à pop-corn, il fait encore très correctement le boulot.… Expand

John Wick 4 is a fun ride. The story is interesting at times. You got like a parallel theme that's going on. The motivation of Nobody was difficult to understand. I found the stairs sequence to be extremely long and not visually interesting. I found that the fighting was too exaggerated this time around. I know it wasn't realistic before but they tried to make it somewhat grounded. But the sequences from Paris made me unplug solidly. Although I did love the over the top view, videogame style. That was fun. The music was a mix bag for me. I give it 75%. Good movie.… Expand

Great flick. I would recommended watching a short recap of 2 and 3 to really get everything. You'd be surprised what you might have forgot. It's not essential by any means but certain plot points expect you to have some prior knowledge.

This movie is just so over the top that its ridiculous. Even if this is set in real cities, it feels like a Gotham-esque "The Purge" setting just without the police. They are not seen ONCE within all the carnage happening. It all feels like a surreal fantasy.

Bullets only kill you when you take 3-4 slugs in the head. Your body is pretty much bulletproof seems like, Bulletproof suit fabric. Sure.. Stabs and 40 feet fall from a window is no issue. John Wick should be dead 20 times over.
All the bad guys are pretty lousy shooters too. Could not hit a train if it was an inch in front of them..
One scene i had to laugh a little at was the club scene where Wick does a whole gun fight right in the middle of the dance floor and no one reacts to bullets flying around.
I found this movie laughable at best. This makes 80´s John Woo movies look like a over-realistic reality show in comparison.… Expand

Off the heels of the third movie, this instalment lives up to the big, bad and bold action that the franchise is known for.

The action scenes are creative and shot beautifully, with the aerial one-shot scene being one of the most thrilling action scenes in cinema history.

Keanu Reeves delivers an expected splendid performance once again, Donnie Yen shines brilliantly as John Wick's friend and adversary by circumstance (it's very easy to root for him even though it's a John Wick movie), and Rina Sawayama is fantastic in her big screen debut. Bill Skarsgard is also a good villain.

The plethora of locations employed is breathtaking, and the cinematography is outstanding. The soundtrack also complements the visuals adequately.

The most noticeable problem with this instalment is its runtime. At two hours and 49 minutes, it's overstuffed with drawled-out action sequences. With the John Wick franchise, suspending one's disbelief is pivotal, but this instalment takes things beyond. It's hard to believe the plausibility of partygoers dancing gleefully as people are being shot and axed. John Wick's immunity to damage was also taken too far.

In all, lovers of the previous instalments would also love this one.

John Wick 4 is a masterpiece when it comes to set pieces, action scenes and Visuals encapsulating Vibe, music and aesthetics on all fronts, but the story and plot lose themselves right at the end, this movie needed another hour, which to me wanting to watch a pretty long movie is rare.

John wick Kills a lot of people, that's good but when the plot kinda doesn't go where it should have after 3 movies, it's kinda disappointing.

Is the story bad though, no it's not bad, it's different and doesn't really explain itself well. It's pretty much, Action Scene, Characters say this thing, Another Action Scene, Characters say that thing and so on.

And away we go to Ratings:
Everything here is 10/10 besides the story which limits the film's ratings, the story is 6/10, it's Engaging because it's simple, but for people like me that like in-depth or explained well stories it's missing some key story beats and scenes.

8/10, I could see this being a 9 but if I were to look back at the other John Wick movies they are better with their implementation of their story, writing and Dialogue.

Besides all that this movie is Quality in every scene no doubt about that, your eyes will be glued to the screen for sure.… Expand

К середине фильма привык, представили много новых героев я даже подумал, что старый Уик пора на пенсию. Легкую завязку на продолжение сделали. Так же как по мне было много лишних сцен, да красивые ракурсы, но для фильма они не значительны. Немного подробнее, тут есть несколько запоминающихся моментов: 222 ступени (интересно если бы действия проходили в эйфелевой башне, хах, и где начинается хот лайн майами) (Кстати я бы поиграл в такую игру). Так же еще момент, понравился, где Уик вспомнил из-за чего стал на путь сотки трупов) момент с псом. Большой фильм, я запомнил практически только концовку и она мне понравилась, как подводка к ней так и сам конец. Он довольно хорош, и закономерен, и дальше уже если уж и продолжать серию фильмов про этот мир, но уже в виде спинофов, так как история закончилась, что они там придумают в анонсированном "Джон Уик 5", я ума не приложу. W.T.F. - jaw dropping action scenes. So much fighting going on you forget what's been happening story wise. But hell, it's a movie about the most charismatic assassin getting revenge for the death of his dog 4 films in a row, what did you expect ?

John is Excommunicado which means the high table will pay a good amount of money to anyone who manages to kill him. John wants his freedom from the high table so his plan was to kill all 12 members so he could achieve that however he soon finds out the only way to earn his freedom is by challenging the Marquis’s played by Bill Skarsgard in single combat. The rule is that you have to go get a crest from your family but his family refuses to give it to him until he ernes their loyalty again. He is tasked with assassinating someone who killed the Cadia’s son, John achieves this task with ease. He is to meet the Marquis at sunrise but the city doesn’t make it easy. People fight him in the streets, he gets run over by cars, falls off buildings and as he’s going to the set location he continually gets knocked down the 200stairs. . He acted more like superman without powers instead of a realistic man. Mister nobody played by Shamier Anderson and Kaine played by Donnie Yen helps John kill the people on the stairs. Donnie Yen did an excellent job as a assassin since he played a blind man. When it came to the final fight mister nobody looks on just like the spectators do in the Hunger Games. It comes down to John and his two friends Kaine and Winston played by Ian McShane. They all want their freedom for different reasons, in the end all of the men win in their own way. There is lots of action with John killing 140 people throughout the film. Between doing his own stunts and being the main character in two big action franchises, this is what made Reeves known as an action star. Only time will tell what he decides to star in next.… Expand

A good finale but people overrate this movie a lot. Most action sequences go on too long, the plot doesn't make a ton of sense, and it feels more like a video game than a movie, both in terms of action and story/characters. It's a John Wick movie, pure and simple. Great scenes, perfectly choregraphed, great actors (except their French accent which is absolutely terrible, sorry).

If you love action then this is the film for you because its nonstop and dynamic from the moment the film begins. If you want something with more substance than watch the first John Wick film.

Overstuffed and way too long (you could cut the entire Berlin act without affecting the plot whatsoever). There is a laundry list of little things that don’t make sense or are inconsistent with the prior films. John is barely a character at this point with the other characters all commenting on how he has no purpose and no real reason to do any of this. He also needs to turn off the cheat code that disables fall damage, that ain’t fair.

All that being said… it is so goddamn entertaining. The action is stellar and the amount of it is perfect. The new characters are all significantly more interesting than the returning characters, and Donnie Yen totally steals the show. It’s a fitting conclusion to the John Wick Saga, the upcoming spinoffs notwithstanding of course.

It’s a poor script executed in bravura fashion and significantly elevated. The story is not good, but the action is so great you might not care.… Expand

And the isometric view shot? simply amazing, especially if you're a gamer. Technical matters are on point either - HDR and Dolby Atmos are a must right here.

The characters - even being predictable - are good enough for you to like and fear for their safety. Also, since their styles are so different, seeing them in action together is amazing. Please, bring me more of it!… Expand

Hollywood can make action masterpieces, but Marvel has greater demand, so that's what we get most of. It's a shame.

The stunts and choreography are beyond impressive. Every artist involved does their job to perfection. Donnie Yen's performance is unbelievable. Not only does he fight great, but he also has to move like a blind man. Keanu Reeves is also very impressive. Keanu IS John Wick. Although there are a few scenes where his enemies stand by and wait for their turn to attack, it's easy to overlook because everything else is so great.

I can't fathom how anyone could choose to watch Ant-Man over John Wick. It's so fast-paced, and the choreography and stunts are mesmerizing and brutal. When the action breaks out, it's unbelievable. It's hard to explain -- you have to see it! Why watch a computer-generated "superhero" fly around when you can witness Reeves and Yen engage in a genuine and thrilling fight?… Expand
