John Wick 4 provides a cinema experience which boasts one of the most captivating and engaging stories that I have ever witnessed. Utterly and fully a time at the movies you will never forget. The already dazzling storyline is this time mixed with a suite of impeccably shot and staggeringly choreographed fight sequences. On the level of anything you've seen from this franchise and more. The scope is broadened to represent the full scale of what action films have to offer. Lengthy battle scenes somehow don't drag out a 3 hour long film, but only serve as to enhance this marvel of a gem of a picture that unreasonably locks you up in chains and takes you for a ride you can't escape. But even if you could, you wouldn't want to. This is a film you absolutely MUST see on the biggest screen possible. Expand

The first movie was great / love Keanu... BUT - It's bloated and lost its way, it's way too long, the action is good, but not 2hours 49 mins good.

The lore feels worn and uninteresting.

It's a product of diminishing returns yet extended run times.

Fast forward 2023, our beloved assassin is back and the fourth chapter of the John Wick franchise is remarkable. If the Oscars does not recognize this film for any categories, I'll be so upset. This movie is amazing and the brilliant action sequences followed by a smart linear direction by Chad Stahelski is the best thing I've ever seen in film history. It's impossible to believe that Keanu Reeves still got it after taking big hits and risks to make this film so special. Everything about this film is amazing especially production design and cinematography standpoint. This is perhaps the best action quadrilogy ever made. Who knows what will the franchise take next? And we certainly know that Ana de Armas' John Wick spinoff Ballerina is certainly around the corner.
RIP Lance Reddick.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The difference is that Baba Yaga manages to use all the ambiguity behind the mythological figure who names the murderer to deliver the definitive film of the franchise, bringing together in just one single and ambitious choreography what makes Keanu Reeves transcend in front of the cameras. Near perfection. The action keeps going and going. I maybe blinked three times in the near three-hour run in an effort to not miss a beat.

A fitting tribute to the legend of Baba Yaga
Reeves' frankly magnificent return as an action star with John Wick' (2014) deserved an equally epic fourth installment. Director Chad Stahelski, cinematographer Dan Laustsen and an army of stunt choreographers have crafted a crazy good action film. Some of the set pieces look humanly impossible to achieve, one of which involves Wick playing a real-life version of Crossy Road as he dukes it out with hitmen to survive in live traffic. At one point, the camera follows Wick as he drives literal circles around his opponents and shoots them down. Another set piece has Wick climbing over 200 stairs as he fights wave after wave of assassins. And yes, you guessed it right.
He tumbled down multiple flights of stairs, many many times. These amazing stunts are well-shot and brilliantly edited. A particular scene in a nightclub is especially memorable. Wick chases and beats an enemy down, as falling sheets of water soak him to the bone.

The cinematography is oscar worthy, the neo-noir genre has never looked better on the big screen as the bold and vibrant colours makes each scene of this film a bold underlined statement that what you are experiencing is something special.

The action choreography utilizies 100% of each and every set design used in the film to incorporate drama, thrill and also comedy. This movie has everything you could ever ask for - guns, knifes, nunchucks, katanas, martial arts, cars, flamethrowers, bare hands etc. The stuntwork is jaw-dropping and adrenaline inducing, specially a stunt that was performed on a staircase on the later half of the film, left me wondering how did the stunt coordinator get that Tom Cruise-level life threatening stunt greenlit.

But what truly makes this story special are the characters and the drama surrounding them as they manoeuvre their way through this twisted world of crime where each person is their only friend. There are a lot of new characters introduced and none of them feel throwaway as each and everyone of them bring something new and exciting to the table and moves the narrative forward. And the centre of this narrative, Keanu Reeves who plays John Wick, a loving husband proves once again why his contribution to this role will be remembered forever as something that revolutionalized action film-making.

This was the one of the most satisfying experience I ever had inside a movie theatre and it leaves you with the question that how many times are you going to return to experience this once in a lifetime masterclass in action film-making.

10/10 - John wick Chapter 4 is a a modern day classic

I was definitely enthralled and it never left you anywhere but on the edge of your seat. I found it to be engaging, funny, and thrilling while still feeling heartwrenching and shocking in so many different and unexpected ways. It was a movie that our entire family enjoyed and I feel Keanu hit the ball out of the park, per usual. This franchise is summarized in a bittersweet way but the ride is worth the ending nevertheless. Five huge stars for a wonderful ensemble cast! Expand
