First of all... this is NOT a Monty Python film. It has all of the Python strangeness but absolutely none of its humor. Secondly... this is NOT an adaptation of the quirky Lewis Carrol poem. Besides a couple of weak references to the poemFirst of all... this is NOT a Monty Python film. It has all of the Python strangeness but absolutely none of its humor. Secondly... this is NOT an adaptation of the quirky Lewis Carrol poem. Besides a couple of weak references to the poem and an attempt to reproduce its weirdness, this is an original story. It's a somewhat confusing, mildly interesting, kinda so-so movie that I can recommend or encourage you to steer clear of equally. Expand

It's not a particularly clever film, and its own absurdist tone only gets the job done to a certain degree, which will always work against you when you don't know how to fix it within the narrative, and you extend its running time to theIt's not a particularly clever film, and its own absurdist tone only gets the job done to a certain degree, which will always work against you when you don't know how to fix it within the narrative, and you extend its running time to the point of tedium. I think it's most revered for Gilliam and for associating it with Monty Python because of the inevitable comparisons.
Passing that inconvenient, Jabberwocky is a dull and flawed film.
