The best part of this movie is the trailer you see on tv.. looks great.. till you get there and the two hours of your life is over. Boring not enough action.. Jody Foster has lost her acting abilities. This movie is an insult to intelligent movie making in every imaginable sense. The story is flat out lame, with the super "surprise" ending being nothing more than a tired joke. Now it seems that everyone from critics to casual movie goers This movie is an insult to intelligent movie making in every imaginable sense. The story is flat out lame, with the super "surprise" ending being nothing more than a tired joke. Now it seems that everyone from critics to casual movie goers have been willing to excuse this movie solely based on the great cast. Which would have been understandable, had the acting itself not been the greatest weakness of this pretentious mess. Washington gives one of the worst performances of his career here, playing a sarcastic know-it-all cop who is annoyingly juvenile and devoid of any compelling thoughts or emotions.i.e., he and his partner stare at a female victim's large chest while interogating her, making light of her emotions. (this is supposed to be funny) Foster is also terrible playing a mysterious liason with her own agenda. Dafoe is miscast as a clueless police captain. Owen is the only exception here, suffering through an under-developed role. The movie is ruined by random attempts at comedy, both intentional and unintentional, which ruins any suspense or tension that might have helped it. THE BOTTOM LINE: A pretentious hollywood film that trys to pass itself off as an updated Dog Day Afternoon, but instead feels more like a failed comedy with an A-list cast.… Expand

I was left feeling bored and unamused. After all the positive reviews I have heard (critics and users alike) I was really expecting a fresh and exciting film, but was disappointed. Washington plays his typical tough-guy under duress role, I was left feeling bored and unamused. Washington plays his typical tough-guy under duress role, and Foster fails to inspire like she has so often in the past. There is nothing new in Spike Lee's exploration of racial tensions and corruption of power in this weak, slow-moving, and watered down "suspens/thriller." Save your money.… Expand

A thoroughly satisfying movie. Compelling from start to finish. (For those who didn't understand the ending, you must not have been paying attention. My wife and I both knew exactly what happened.) Crisp and smart, with a wry sense of humor. A clever heist with a great multi-layered plot. Great acting, though Jody Foster was a bit unconvincing in her role as super fixer. Loved Denzel and Clive, and all the many character actors. Superb Crisp and smart, with a wry sense of humor. A clever heist with a great multi-layered plot. Best film I've seen so far this year! All actors play Oscar worthy performance, storyline is very slick. Spike Lee impresses me!

Wow.. This movie was spectacular.. I really enjoyed it. The theatre I was in unfortunately had a fire alarm when it got to the part where Clive Owen walked out of the bank just like he said. And words cannot describe how bad I want to see Wow.. This movie was spectacular.. I really enjoyed it. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. There are so many small details you need to pay attention to but the end worth wating for. Acting superb and directing outstanding. Don't miss it!

Implausible yet oddly entertaining, a testament to the fine job of the cast and director I suppose. Given the way the plot (finally) plays out, it's quite ironic that the "getaway car" is a Volkswagen.

If you pay really close attention to small details, there are no surprises as you stay ahead of the game. It's a matter of being able to sort through some of the post-modern elements. Nevertheless, Inside Man is a great story and worth seeing.

If the ending were as good as the rest of the movie I would have given it a 10. Most of the way through the movie was great... good plot, good acting... then it ends, and leaves you feeling "what happened." Whatever you do, enjoy the movie as it's given to you. Don't hold out for a spectacular ending. Revel in the smallest details. I think this is one of Lee's best directing jobs. And Jodie Foster is excellent. Denzel? Oh yeah.

Solid, witty, but perhaps lacking a punch at the end of the film. Casting and dialogue great. You won't be disappointed too much, but no Usual Suspects.
