Dafoes performance carried me through the plain-crackers-without-cheese cardboard tasteless poorly constructed plot. Why is nemo here at his age? What are his motivations for the heist? Most of these key story elements are discarded in favour of getting as many cinematic shots of the same set as possible with Dafoe literally chewing on the scenery (my favorite moment of which was eating the ice from the freezer sighing to macarena!). This was a fascinating entertaining and yet wasteful experience.… Expand

Inside has a premise that may give the impression of pulling a lot of tricks out of its sleeve in order to keep the plot moving forward but its resources manage to provide sufficient interest so that it can unfold without too many bumps inInside has a premise that may give the impression of pulling a lot of tricks out of its sleeve in order to keep the plot moving forward but its resources manage to provide sufficient interest so that it can unfold without too many bumps in the road.

The movie also benefits from the presence of Willem Dafoe, a great actor who carries the whole movie by himself even when the rest of the narrative falls short of exploring its potential or deepening its themes.
He keeps the audience interested and prevents the movie from losing its momentum.

It can seem monotonous and boring after a while, even I could tell, although I didn't dislike the film as a whole.
It certainly doesn't convey a profound or insightful message, but I think the director intended to explore the psychological and emotional impact of the situation more than anything else.

It doesn't do much with it, true, but I think it's worth seeing because of Dafoe's performance, as he makes the most of it, even when he's clearly not pushing himself at all.… Expand

Dafoe is obviously very well placed here, and his performance is solid.

The spiral into madness and filth is well done, the movie is just very samey for about 90 minutes straight

Although it might not appeal to everyone, this film is not subpar by any means. Overall, I thought it was fairly enjoyable. Overall, I thought it was fairly enjoyable. Although it is a little longer than average, I really liked the atmosphere, and the unease of the entire situation had me interested the entire time. Some portions of it could be a little too predictable, but not too much. Give it a shot if you enjoy these kinds of films; it's an excellent one to watch when you don't want anything too action-packed. You might want to seek elsewhere if you're hoping for something action-packed, though. William Dafoe performed admirably.… Expand

I've seen Willem slowly go insane before, and this doesn't hold up to the immense standards that The Lighthouse put on the map. But this is a fine time.
