Incredibles 2 is incredible! Just not quite as incredible as The Incredibles. I like many many others have waited anxiously for 14 years for this movie and now we finally have it. This was my favorite movie as a kid, this and Finding Nemo,Incredibles 2 is incredible! Just not quite as incredible as The Incredibles. I like many many others have waited anxiously for 14 years for this movie and now we finally have it. This was my favorite movie as a kid, this and Finding Nemo, and I would play it over and over again every day. I got in trouble and had the movie taken away from me for a week because I told my parents to shut up after hearing Violet say it. The Incredibles was my life, so yeah I was pumped for this sequel! And I loved it! It's such an intelligent and mature animated movie just like the first one. There are multiple scenes dedicated to people talking about their views on society and the world and I was just like wow, I'm watching this in an animated movie. It's unfair to call this or the first one a kids movie because they're aimed towards everyone. I was just bubbling with excitement throughout the entire movie. From the amazing action scenes, characters, and it's philosophy. Yes, there's a ton of philosophy in this movie, and I loved it! The only reason why I like this one less is because the villain's reveal could be seen from a mile away. Clearly, it doesn't really detract from your viewing experience. Oh, and also Jack Jack steals the show. Every scene he's in is awesome and hilarious. Particularly, an entire scene dedicated to him fighting a raccoon. If we do not get an Incredibles 3 I will die, I don't care if I have to wait another 14 years, clearly, this one was worth the 14 year wait anyways. A+ Expand

Not quite the bullseye the first movie was, but close. The humour fell a little flat for me and some of the details about plot and characters was confusing. No spoilers, just can't be bothered to explain the confusion.

But after watching the film, I could say it was worth the wait. A phenomenal film and it really takes you back. The nostalgia is just amazing. The film may not match up to the first film, but it really comes so close. Its really a great film and is just breathtaking. I believe that the story is not as strong as the first one and there are times where you don't feel the scenes. But most of them are spot-on and are really funny. Funnier than the first film to be honest. Overall the film is great. And is just a fun family film and you wouldn't want to miss it on the big screen. It may be 15 years too late, but that wait was just worth it. Brad Bird is just really phenomenal. I hope you watch this in cinema, because it was such a pleasure. Great film and worth every single penny. Expand

Incredibles 2

It is quite rare for a feature, series or even an episode to match the expectations of its predecessor and live up to the hype (it is higher than usual in here since it has been 14 years) delivering everything that the fans want and a bit more, (just for fun) attaining the perfect balance of commercial and art cinema. As usual, the Pixar animation is rich in it's finely detailed script and visual aesthetics that is not only adorable (Jack Jack steals the show), witty and "cool" to encounter at, but is also thought-provoking that speaks volume on character's perspective through it. The script is adaptive, engaging and filled with exhilarating sequences that up beats the momentum of the situation and elevates the heartbeat of the audience using the character's connection among them wisely that redefines the cultural genre which is taken for granted nowadays. The return voice over cast convincingly sticks to their characters along with the newer cast whose characters are equally juicy and nutrient. Brad Bird; the writer-director, has done a tremendous work on executing his anticipated vision (an ahead-of-its-time vision that is adequate for the current society that we all reside and still never goes pretentious or chalky) on screen. Despite of walking on a familiar structure of the script, the feature is eerily an inversion of its previous installment and still makes sense in a whole new way; kind of like a palindrome, which is poetic of Brad to do so. The pace and the tone of it is kept alive and even throughout the course of it which was palpable in the first installment too, picking up right where it was left. It is rich on technical aspects like sound department, visual effects (the chase sequence of Elastigirl is breathtaking as it leaves the room with a long gasping of awe) and editing. Incredibles 2 is as smooth as jazz for its strong writing, gripping screenplay and brilliant execution not only charms its way around the viewers and instead has a warm gift wrapped under its "family" sheet for them.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to admit that I enjoyed this one. The first one is still my favorite as it had better humor in it and of course, Jason Lee, who was excellent in it. Here, the standouts are Frozone, Void, and Jack Jack. The other characters were great too, but those three characters added something significant to the story. Frozone had a bigger role in this one not just as a friend but as someone who saved the kids and even got them to meet the rich guy in the movie.

While I didn't feel as excited as I did during the island scene in the first one, this one wasn't that bad. The first time I checked my watch to see how long I've been sitting there, it was at 1h15 and it didn't feel like it. Still, not a bad movie and a decent follow-up to it. Violet's side story just seemed unnecessary and could've been edited out, I guess. Dash was OK but he was good when he got control of the car.

It's probably the best Pixar movie I've seen in many years since they started their decline with Toy Story 3 (which you have to admit that the writing wasn't that good in that one.... the "Lincoln Logs" joke was obviously painful).

Story: The story of Incredibles 2 revolves around this rich brother-sister duo who want to make superheroes legal again, so they enlist the help of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone to help generate some positive buzz so that they can get the law changed. Elastigirl ends up being their main spokesperson, and she's essentially sent out with a little camera embedded into her suit that will record her as she saves lives and defeats evil. But there is a bad dude, Screenslaver, who comes into play and is the main villain. You can probably tell where it's heading from here.

The story is definitely different than the first movie. They didn't just do a role reversal and smack a 2 at the end of the title; there is a noticeable difference in how this movie plays out, at least for the first act. There's more of a focus on the family, and less of a focus on one specific character doing superhero stuff. The individual superhero sequences are still there, but it definitely has more of a family driven vibe than the first one, which I believe was the correct direction to go. As I get to in the next section, the villain is what really brought down my score for this one. The build up was good, the family dynamic was great, the humor was spot on, but the villain didn't bring that presence that I was hoping for. The finale also seemed a bit too easy for the heroes. Characters: Jack-Jack is the star of the show here. He is the reason for most of the laughs, as he's at the center of most of the film's humor. I also enjoyed watching Mr. Incredible try to be a somewhat regular dad after always having some sort of job. It turns out even superhero dads are just...dads. It was nice to see Elastigirl get the nod this time around to be the main on-screen superhero and it was cool to see how she takes care of business. Mr. Incredible relies on his strength and determination, but Elastigirl relies on her intelligence and various stretchy abilities. The villain in this film was incredibly disappointing as a follow up to Syndrome. I was afraid that this would happen, considering how great of a villain Syndrome was, but they really went the generic route with the villain in Incredibles 2 and it disappointed me quite a bit. The villain still does its job and there are some interesting aspects to it, but...eh. Finally, I wish Frozone had more screen time in this movie...but I wish he had more screen time in the original as well. Animation: It's crazy how great animation looks these days. I didn't think I'd notice that much of a difference between the first one and this one, but there's a lot more noticeable detail (apart from the fact that everything just looks better, more crisp). Screenplay: Brad Bird wrote another solid one here. For an animated film primarily meant for a younger audience, he doesn't write the characters to where it feels like they're talking to children. I like that. Overall: Incredibles 2 is a worthy successor to The Incredibles. It has a weaker villain and I feel like the finale was not nearly as enjoyable, but everything else comes together to make it one of this year's best films.

The Incredibles 2 Review
Cinematography: 7/10 There were no awkward pauses or awkward double takes.

Costume Design: 9.732/10 I like the way the fashion is interwoven in the film's story through Edna Mode. Besides Edna Mode, fashion is already a part of the conversation from the beginning of the film concerning super hero attire in attendance to the meeting with Winston Deavor. Attire helps a great theme of the story concerning hiding and revealing.

Film Editing: 9.732/10 I didn't feel like any repeat scenes were in use with voice overs. Sometimes repeat scenes are noticeable by repeated character action or awkward placement of a scene with voice overs (which will receive notice in a future review concerning another film).

Make-up and Hair-styling: 6/10 For an animation - okay - It's definitely not like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. At the same time, I don't think that much fine CGI handling with make-up and hair-styling is an aim of The Incredibles 2.

Sound Editing: 7.732/10 Clear, crisp, and accurate. I don't find the baby's mannerisms annoying throughout either: I actually find them more amusing through until the end of the film. There was no overkill sounds to force comedic effects.

Visual Effects: 9.479/10 The Incredibles 2 looks solid and the visuals work very well with the film's flow. The action is well-done, simple, and not corny.

Story: 8.759/10 I like the story. The film brings about a huge timeless theme concerning hiding and revealing which people go through on a second-by-second basis. People want to be themselves and - at times, conform to their social surroundings which may be against the direction of their choosing for their life. Yet, these same people attempt to be their selves in other ways, and - at times, don't reveal their true complete self until another - like a "hero" or "heroine" in position to do so - steps forward to fight for their own rights which supports the rights of so many in hiding. The film draws heavily on the importance of being and unity, of and between, those striving for their freedoms.

Acting: 8.999/10 The voices stimulate the animations. A part of the reason the film is enjoyable is heavily due to the voice acting. After watching a lot of dubbed shows, one learns to realize the importance of voice acting and the difference voice acting may have on a production - especially the final result of a production.

Personal: The Incredibles 2 is an enjoyable film. It's definitely a film worth having in one's film library.

Overall: 8.429/10

These situations foster a sense of intrigue and future attachment to the film's storyline for the audience, where the only question becomes: "When will there be more?" And for Pixar's "Incredibles 2," Brad Bird delivers just that. Bird allows his fans to enter that same world that feels nostalgic to those who grew up in the early 60s, yet almost new at the same time, where the laser gates to Edna Mode's home or Mr. Incredible's "Incredible Mobile" work in parallel to the life the other citizens are living. At my screening of the film, I think only a few kids were present, as the rest of us were either in our late teens or early 20s and 30s, proving that with a great storyline and a drive to create something fresh and vibrant, then, even 14 years later, Pixar's animation captures our inner kid inside us all. Therefore, if I had to sum up Incredible's 2 in one word, it would be no other than "incredible." Expand

It has a lot of great action, the visuals and animation are stunning as always, and the comedy is top notch. The greatest strength of the movie, like the first one, is the bond between the Parr family. It is very easy to get invested in their relationships and individual characters. The weakest aspect is the new villain. While still a good villain, it does not compete with Syndrome from the original. The backstory of Syndrome and his overall presence and performance is iconic and honestly just really hard to beat. Incredibles 2 does a good job of continuing to explore not only superheroes but the family dynamic of the main characters. But I couldn't help feel that the emotional journey each character went on was a bit more impactful the first time around. So for these reasons, I personally feel the first is still the superior film. But comparisons aside, Incredibles 2 is still a quality sequel with a good story and lots of entertainment value. Expand

It was a really fun movie. The action scenes were terrific in this movie, with the exception of the one scene with the Mind-controlled pizza guy fight with Elastigirl. With all the flashing lights, it was hard to see and kind of hurt my brain. Also, I could haven lived without the Violet subplot, as it seemed unnessasary to the actual plot of the movie. Other than that I was laughing and in awe of the rest of the film. I would recommend it, but let’s be honest, who isn’t going to see it? It’s a win for me. Expand

14 long years it took Pixar to release the sequel to one of its most emblematic and famous films: The Incredibles.

Ironically for us it was 14 long years but for the characters it was just a few hours. It's amazing but this film starts exactly where the original ended.

To replicate the magic of something that was so wonderful it's something very difficult especially with sequels because frankly almost all of them end up being minor spectacles.

I have criticized Pixar for changing their approach by making a lot of sequels because something that distinguished the studio were their stories and their stories were good and original.

With the exception of what they did with the wonderful trilogy of Toy Story all of the Pixar sequels have resulted in minor films. They were good but not nearly as good as the originals.

But I won't really go deep into the film. I prefer for everyone to see it and form their own opinion. I just have to say that I don't think it's superior to the original but I do think it's the best sequel Pixar has done since Toy Story 3. Is the second best sequel they've ever done.

The story is great. The animation evidently improved in a spectacular way. Michael Giacchino's score is excellent, it sends you back to the past and submerges you as if time had never passed.

The villain sadly is not up to Syndrome but frankly I think that's the only problem the film has. It's a small problem but it exists. Nevertheless I repeat this is a spectacular film that deserves to be seen and I repeat: this is the best sequel Pixar has done since Toy Story 3 and it's the only sequel they should have ever done after that one.

Do I want a third film? Of course I would love a third film.
Do I have to wait another 14 years? Well, that's a very different thing. But honestly I have to say it, even though recently Brad Bird said there are no plans for a third entry, I think he really should try because the characters deserve it.
Especially as we can see with the little Jack-Jack who stole this film. He's a wonderful, funny, endearing and adorable character, I say it again, the characters deserve more and we the audience deserve more of those characters.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Incredibles 2 is my 2nd favorite animated superhero movie, one of my top 10 favorite Pixar movies of all time, it is one of my favorite animated movies, one of my favorite superhero movies of all time, and one of my favorite movies of all time. The writing and direction from Brad Bird were spectacular. The animation was amazingly gorgeous. The voice over performances were stupendous especially Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huckleberry Milner, Brad Bird, Catherine Keener, Bob Odenkirk, Sophia Bush, Samuel L. Jackson, Jonathan Banks, and Michael Bird. The humor, Comedy, and jokes were hilarious. I also loved the incorporation of all of the new superhero's and how the movie was mainly about Helen Parr/Elastigirl being the sole one doing all of the superhero work and Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible having to juggle everyday things and taking care of the children. Also Michael Giacchino's soundtrack was fantastic. Incredibles 2 is as good as the original if not better in some ways and I loved this one more than the first one. An awesome movie. A+. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is very good, and is up to par with the original, if not even better. With delightful visuals, and a good story, this movie will keep adults and children entertained for the entirety. The subtle-not so subtle anti-screen propaganda is annoying, but is fairly easy to get around. The super mom message was good, and I enjoyed it a good bit. I went in expecting extreme 'super female lead character' motives as the movie industry has been playing on for a while, but it's surprisingly toned down, and is enjoyable versus in your face. The side characters were fairly good, but could've used a little more work. The Jack-Jack subplot was fairly good, and Edna played a very good overbearing aunt. Was it worth the 14 year wait? Sure. It was a good movie, and I'd go see it again any time. Good movie, and with a few tweaks it could be a very well made movie. I'd see a third and have it be a trilogy. Sure! Expand

The Incredibles 2 is essentially a lazy, less funny re-run of the first film. Very possibly the first genuinely bad film Pixar have produced.

Like the first film, the story is very well written, the characters are very likable, and the humor is funny. The animation in this sequel improves on the detail from the first film and it looks fantastic. However, the only flaw in this film is the weak villain. Screenslaver is definitely not as good as Syndrome from the first movie. While its not as good as its predecessor, Incredibles 2 met my expectations and provided a fantastic sequel.

I only have one and a "HALF" problem:
The "HALF" thing is how did Bob sleep with a beard and woke up without it? Well, it's an animated movie so I didn't care about it, but it bothered me, but my only problem is that the biggest event in the movie (I mean superheros being illegal) solved very very easy and fast, I mean they saved the world from villains are more dangerous than saving a train, and they didn't care, but yet I am going to give a A+ and more if I can do it!
Well the first one is better in somethings and this one is better in somethings, so for me they are both equal! I really loved it and enjoyed watching it!
I loved a lot of thing in this movie:
The characters were really amazing and amusing.
The sense of humor was really hilarious!
The story was powerful and entertaining (beside the problem I mentioned up there)
The voices were really fitting on the characters.
The animation motion was really eye-comfort, colorful and entertaining too.
Incredibles 2 is one of my favorite movie... Not only animated movies, but in general!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. BREAKDOWN

Writing (Brad Bird): Here is where the film faults, unfortunately. It had a great foundation that is tripped up by the execution in the script. Making the Screenslaver reveal a big deal was fault #1 and could have been better if dramatic irony was used and we as an audience knew who Screenslaver was but Mrs. Incredible didn't due to her being caught up in her own ego. The dual storylines of Mrs. Incredible and Mr. Incredible were each necessary on their own, but the balance between the two felt off tonally and should have been mixed in a better way. Despite these faults, the allegories to immigration and media manipulation present in the script make this film much more enjoyable. Also, the writing of the new supers is fun and their powers are handled well. My biggest problem after watching this film a second time is the ending. I would have loved to see more fighting between the Incredibles + Frozone and the new supers. It seems the new supers were handled with such ease that they never seemed like a problem besides that first scene at the Incredi-House. Seeing a more prolonged fight would have been more enjoyable than them trying to stop the boat which they could have done while fighting the other supers and would have been more impressive. 5/10

Performances: Craig T. Nelson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Holly Hunter are perfect in their roles just like last time. The entire cast is fantastic, especially with the new addition of Bob Odenkirk who, once again, brings a character to life with a vibrant performance, this time through voice. 9/10

Cinematography (Mahyar Abousaeedi/Erik Smitt): This film is stunning visually with beautiful frames and smooth, long shots. The most stunning visual, in my opinion, is the fight with Screenslaver in his apartment and the room is flashing with the hypnosis. The animation combined with the excellent lighting and cinematography made it a jaw-dropping scene. 9/10

Editing (Stephen Schaffer): The editing here is amazing during action scenes but sub-par during down moments. It was clear it was tough balancing the two storylines through editing. Sometimes a tense moment with Elastigirl would be interrupted by a cut to what Bob was doing with Jack-Jack. However, it didn't happen enough to qualify a poor rating. 6/10

Visual Effects (Josh Holtsclaw): The animation is INCREDIBLE, pun intended, in this film. Miles ahead of its predecessor. Somehow they managed to make each scene even more stunning than the last through the animation alone. 10/10

Enjoyment: The fights in this film are a lot of fun. And I mean A LOT of fun. The only fight that could have used work was the fight against the new supers at the end. Making that the climax as opposed to the boat being diverted away from the city would have bumped up this rating. Also the poor balance during slow moments takes a hit here because sometimes it makes the movie boring or takes away from the tension. 7/10

Musical Score (Michael Giacchino): Michael Giacchino does it again and makes an exciting score that is perfect just on its own. After seeing this film the first time, I could not get enough of the score and would listen to it while doing chores and writing. Somehow they manage to add on to the excellent score from the first film. 10/10

Sound Mixing: The sound in this film is exciting and loud and mixed well, but we don't get enough atmospheric tone which could have enhanced the film. But with what it is now, it's still great and fits the overall tone of the flick. 8/10

Production Design (Ralph Eggleston): The production design of this film is amazing. Each set speaks for itself and says so much about the characters that own them while also providing excellent backdrops for fights or intimate scenes. 9/10

Summary: 'Incredibles 2' is a visual stunner with mostly exciting setpieces, but suffers in its downtime and its ending. However, it does not fail at providing an excellent allegory to the times we unfortunately live in. 8/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Director Brad Bird once said that he wouldn't make a sequel to The Incredibles unless he had a "very good idea" and...Was this his good idea? I have mixed feelings about this movie, it's not a Cars 2 kind of sequel, it isn't that god-awful, but it is also not a Toy Story 2 or 3 kind of sequel, it's like Finding Dory, it's not a terrible movie, far from it but it doesn't do anything better than the first one, in fact, it's inferior to the original overall. This movie just played it SO safe.
I'm gonna discuss the good and the bad from this.

The Good:
-I didn't want to talk about the animation as amazing, cutting-edge animation is expected from Pixar, but I really liked the Screenslaver vs. Elastigirl fight, its visual style stands out from the rest of the movie (too bad the "visually stunning" part just lasts like 20 seconds).
-The action scenes were cool.
-For the most part, the jokes were funny, I actually had a good time at the theater when I saw it.

Notice how the best parts of the movie for me are just kind of superficial? Well...

The Bad:
-The story is just a rehash of the first one. Literally is the exact same story but with genders switched, you know, instead of Mr Incredible going into an adventure where he feels as he was the good-old Mr Incredible at its prime once again as it leaves the family at home it's now Elastigirl. Instead of being Mr. Incredible the one who gets captured by the villain and his family has now to rescue him is Elastigirl in this movie, and they have a big fight scene at the end where they save the city...You see my point, right? It's so lazy and predictable.
-The villain is so bad. I didn't see coming the twist of Evelyn actually being the Screenslaver, but that makes it bad, it seems like the writers just shoehorned in this twist to make the audience shock even though it doesn't make any sense, like...She is helping his brother to make superheroes legal again just so they become illegal again? If they are already illegal, why not leave it like that? Maybe her brother had the intention and she tried to stop her brother? I guess.
-The new characters are nothing special and wasted, those new superheroes had potential to become new and memorable characters, just like in a good sequel.
-Why write a clever joke when you can make a baby do "cute" things? I swear that 99% of the jokes are related to Jack Jack doing something, and while I laughed at some of them and I liked his fight with the raccoon, I think that they have do nothing for the plot.

While this is a decent movie, it's just that, a decent movie, it turned out to be just another superhero movie. I'm not "blinded by nostalgia" for calling this movie inferior to the original, I really think that this doesn't have what made the original movie so special. The first Incredibles movie had a better script, with way better jokes, with some serving as a satire of the superhero genre, it was self-aware and that's what made the humor so good, had a better developed villain whose motivation and goals are clear and aren't non-sensical, among other things. I enjoyed this movie, but that's it.

The surprise Pixar villain is a concept that is getting old years ago, but this movie make the concept worse, because the villain is a lackluster of a twist because you already know it from the first incident that happens in the movie. The animation for the family is... weird, for not saying the least. After seeing the trailer i was a bit worried that the plot wasn't going to be very interesting, however, the original trailer for incredibles 1 was awful too, so i wasn't too worried. Unfortunately the trailers were correct this time, the plot of this movie is simply terrible. Despite taking place literal seconds after the first film, none of the characters have seemed to have grown or progressed from the beginning of the first. The flaws they all had at the start of incredibles 1, are all still issues in this film. The only real difference is mr incredible and Elastigirl have had their roles reversed for no real reason. The one story line i enjoyed was with bob struggling to look after his children and be "incredible" as he is expected to be. Its just a shame that is never looked into deeper. It would be far more interesting to spend some more time developing his character to come to grips with the fact he cant always fix everything, or solve every problem, but instead its resolved by the next scene. Turning back to the plot, the motivations of the villain make no sense, at all. It doesn't help the villain is also extremely boring and extremely predictable. The character of syndrome in the first film makes this film feel like it was written by a child, and outside of the quality of it's animation, this film really has nothing going for it. 3/10 - Needed a whole plot rewrite to even be worth making :( Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really don't like the fact that its name doesn't have The before it. Like, why? Now the two movies won't be next to each other whenever they are alphabetically arranged. But anyway, that's just a minor inconvenience. I hope that's the only problem I have with this movie, other than probably the fact that it's nowhere as memorable as the first movie. While The Incredibles is something of a pop culture icon this movie is, well, let's just say we'd have never learnt about it if it wasn't advertised so much.

Incredibles 2 starts off from the part where the prequel left. And it finally answers the question of what happened in the fight between the Parr family and the Moleman - It... Happened. The only thing that came out of it was that Violet's BF learnt about her identity, which was later wiped out (or so I remember, I don't even think this movie was memorable enough. I'm remembering all the scenes as I'm writing this). So now Helen is out on another adventure, leaving Bob with the kids. And he's terrible at handling them. It was a very funny scene, seeing him struggle everyday trying to help Dash with his homework and Jack Jack in changing his diapers.

The family moves into a new home which is way better than their previous one. Dash and Violet discover Bob's car and they bring it home. Then something something Helen finds out the guy who she's working with has a sister who is her costume designer, and she's secretly evil. And now it's up to the kids to save the day with all the superpowers and plot armours. See this is exactly the problem of this movie. It is super predictable, although that's not a bad thing since the way those scenes are executed make it very satisfactory to watch.

The animation of this movie is probably the best thing about it. It is one of the only things which has improved drastically since the first movie. The Incredibles, you might remember, was very cool. But I just wrote a review of it yesterday and it was then that I realised the quality of that movie has aged terribly. In terms of polygon count this one takes the win. However, I also mentioned in that review that the thing which makes The Incredibles so much fun to watch is that it feels like a videogame, something similar to Sonic the Hedgehog or Spider-Man for PS4. That's not something I could say about this movie.

Incredibles 2 isn't one of the movies Pixar is known for making. It's something of a sequel that can only satisfy you that the fight in the end of the first movie didn't end on a suspenseful note. It is a one-time watch for the fans of the first movie, although the kids might like it since the movie seemed to be more oriented towards them.

13 years later, the sequel has finally arrived. It picks up right where the first one left off, so we get to see how the family is doing immediately with the same circumstance that troubled them on the first film.

What I noted immediately is that the plot is very similar, if not identical to the previous movie, with a few details modified. It's very clear that the writers tried to, once again, capitalize on the conflict of balancing the superhero life to the normal family life, a task that I think is better achieved on this movie. However, I once again think the plot could've been a bit more ambitious, so the story didn't feel like a generic kids action movie.

Yet again, the visuals are the biggest selling points here, as everything looks amazing, it's really a feast for the eyes. The characters and their suits really show the magic that Pixar is able to pull off.

As similar as it is to the first film, I can't help feel that everything was done slightly better in this installment, although I wished the studio were a little more ambitious in the way they treat these iconic characters.

I am happy to say that this movie is worth the wait, and it is fantastic. However, I do think the first Incredibles is marginally better for a couple of reasons. This movie isn't as gritty and gruesome as the first, which is both nice and a fault in comparison. The story is good but not as great, and the villain is considerably weaker than Syndrome. Other than that, this movie is a blast. It is so great to see these characters again. The animation is amazing; it's so cool to see the animation from this movie and compare it to the first. The action sequences are also stunning. Most superhero films today wish they had action scenes this good. The music is also great; Michael Giacchino once again does a fabulous job with the score. I do believe that if this movie came out earlier it would have a more consistent tone that lined up with the first, because watching these back to back they do feel a little different, and it's not just the updated and improved animation. I do feel that this movie would benefit from that dark and gritty tone that the first Incredibles nailed. Still, Incredibles 2 is worth the wait, and quite the blast. Expand

The story is also very good, simple yet entertaining. Overall the movie felt a little grown up, making its humour appealing to parents as well as children. Another aspect that really impressed me is the graphics - it is a visually stunning movie with really good direction and camera angles. I really don't think they could have made a better movie. Perhaps a few more funny moments and original comedy would take it to a 10/10. Expand

The original 'Incredibles' was always a staple of my TV reruns. I know that no sequel was going to match what 'Incredibles' did in 2004, but the folks at Pixar did not disappoint. It has the crisp action and animation, and never shies away from relating to the audience. Half of the movie's scenes I can imagine happening in real life (the non-superhero bits of course. I can imagine conversations of the Parr family as if they were a real family. That's what Pixar does best: every film is HUMAN, regardless of how fantastical the story is. It's Pixar's defining trait, and it shows in 'Incredibles 2'. Expand

The plot was incredibly predictive (pun intended). And why the hell does all superhero movies need to cram 500 superheros into every movie these days. It completely looses focus.

Some really stupid stuff going on aswell. Especially the 'Dash' character was wildly annoying at all times.

And it seems all superheroes do is stop large things that move at high speed. Train, check. Boat, check. Huge drilling machine, check. I felt like I was watching the same movie 3 times in a row.

And I hated how gullible they made Elastigirl. It was so frustrating seeing the plot unfold in such a predictive manner, and Elastigirl was just completely caught off guard by the most obvious things. She did figure it out, sure. But not until the very last moment, when **** hit the fan anyway. So it was clearly to make the plot work - so she had to be naive. And I didn't care for that at all.

With all of that out of the way, the movie does have its moments. The scenes with Jack-Jack are hilarious. And I loved the Edna segment. It was definitely the high-point of the movie.

Also quite liked how Elastigirl took on her first mission. It was only on the other go-arounds it felt repetitive and naive.

So, there's some entertainment value in specific scenes for sure. But it felt bloated, predictive, repetitive and a bit of a mess overall.

I still think the first one was better but this one is so much more fun. The first installment was more of a gloomy/serious movie but the second installment is fun and surprising. This movie picks up right where the first one ended. Elastigirl is a really good super hero dare I say even more interesting than Mr. Incredible (it's close). That meant Bob had to stay home to watch the kids. This is by far the show stealer. Jack Jack takes the spotlight here. Bob trying to deal with his new powers is amazing! Also watch out for something we saw in the movie poster! It really is a delightful treat. Sadly Edna Mode does not have as much screen time as she did in the first movie but all of her lines are absolutely hilarious. The Screenslaver was an awesome villain. It was cryptic and creepy and the fighting scenes were so creative. Overall this movie builds up to it's grand finale which is good and bad (for reasons that you'll know when you watch) but it was a funny and action packed ride that really was worth the 14 year wait! After waiting fourteen years, we get a sequel that is just as fast, busier, action-heavy, and even poignant, more so than the original. What keeps it from being as equally brilliant as its predecessor is that, even though the movie is only one minute longer than the first, there are times where the movie does feel as if its treading along rather deliberately, and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that there are repetitive scenes every now and then. The story very much picks up where the first one left us, where the Underminer (John Ratzenberger) is threatening to take over the city, and it's up to Bob (voiced by Craig T. Nelson) and Helen (Holly Hunter) and the rest of the Parr family, aka "The Incredibles" to stop him, along with help from Lucius Best, aka "Frozone" (Samuel L. Jackson). The heroes do cause some damage along the way, and the government tells them that superheroes are, once again, illegal. It's another one of those movies where the heroes must learn the errors of their ways, despite doing it for the good intentions. However, the Parrs and Frozone are recruited by a man named Winston Deaver (Bob Odenkirk) who wants to legalize and put a good name on superheroes, as he believes that there are still good in them. The mission, he says, must be taken care of by Elastigirl alone. Leaving Bob to take care of the kids until she completes her mission. It seems that the biggest threat they must challenge is taking on a sneaky villain with the power of some form of hypnosis named "Screenslaver", Helen tries everything she can to find this villain and stop them before more people become victims to its powers. Meanwhile, Bob is trying his best to; help Dash (Huck Milner) with his Maths homework, understand why Violet (Sarah Vowell) gets so frustrated all the time, and trying his best to look after Jack Jack, unaware that he has some unique and special powers that could be dangerous. The sequel tells another good story, though maybe too similar to the original, but we see the same family dynamic, the same struggle to save the world, and at times, the movie does get surprisingly dark. Brad Bird delivers his best to make this sequel just as fun, and just as important as the first. It's not a bad Pixar sequel like 'Cars 2' (2011), or a mediocre one like 'Monsters University' (2013), it's actually extremely close to 'Toy Story 2' (1999). Pixar manages to keep reminding us why they're the best entertainment company in the business. Expand

"Incredibles 2" is an important film, a smart sequel that enriches its animated universe through a radically contrasting plot that refreshes the Hollywood-era animation, superhero scene. Even when we've seen movies driven by gender-swapped thematic, most of these body-life switches were, first of all, comedies, but also provoked by some kind of magic object or spell, as a fortune cookie, a pair of earrings or peeing in a sacred fountain. On this occasion, the same characters are who will switch roles by their own due to a money crisis, survival compels them to make great efforts, just like a real-world family. Putting narcissistic, kind-of-sexist Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible in check when his wife takes on a fabulous new job is a risky plotting move that, even if it sounds cliché, allows the story to argue that household chores and family issues aren't easy work.

Mom is the boss here; she gets the spotlight, a woman who's forced to lay aside her children and husband for an indefinite period to "make supers legal again." There is a strong, meaty commentary/fictional debate on the issue of the legalization of superheroes, a purpose going through several discussion-worthy obstacles. Helen, the new focal point in the plot, blissfully becomes one of the strongest rocks of this sequel because there are insufficient animated films that place a woman in the starring role with such priceless storyline skills. It's an important step in female representation in kids-oriented cinema to see not only how a woman monopolizes the whole story, but also the way they change the stereotyped conception of mother; likewise, just a few decisions feel synthetic as the story takes the right time for Bird's distinctive approach and development on the visual and narrative section, a balance where comedy takes place at home mainly, whereas the most dramatic events takes place among the streets of the huge metropolis. At a given time along the movie, Voyd, the Kristen Stewart-inspired character voiced by Sophia Bush, questions Elastigirl about how it she can level her life as a heroine, mom and wife, and although it's never answered by her, the film itself provides the answer.

Special mention for a couple of iconic characters who have the right to be part of the modern-day pop-culture as for animation field. That's right, it's the meanly charming Edna Mode, who, ironically, steals the show completely just as the first film with her upset, super-rich visionary costume designer thanks to the writers' witty work. But alongside Jack-Jack, who supports on his tiny shoulders the best visual gags, they're an explosive duo, in matters of comedy, of course. It will be no surprise that it's already insinuating their own movie, however, Disney has the things clear, and that makes us happy.

The animation isn't at the same level of detail as the most visually complex feats of the company, but it isn't by reason of a poorly-crafted work, is because the film sets just some minutes after the first feature film, that is to say, they decide to remain in the same timeline of 14 years ago, safeguarding its textures and animation styles, holding true to the simplicity of the features at that time, a world where realism doesn't have to be part of the equation. There are a few eye-popping landscapes; on the contrary, the film stays in urban settings to develop most of the plot. Truly unforgettable, beautiful sequences can be counted on the fingers of one hand, there are only a handful of important pictures, the best frame: An exhausted Bob going upstairs carrying his two boys in his arms, a visual poem that finds beauty in the emotional. It's understandable that Pixar doesn't deliver a visually arresting experience, but there is a character who went too far, id est, he looked like I was looking at a 2005 video game character, his expressions were made of rubber. It's Bob Odenkirk's character, Winston Deavor, he's of wax.

"Incredibles 2" by Brad Bird is an unusual sequel, as it knows how to transmute into a Hollywood modern motion picture by using a mold that respects the universe built fourteen years ago. For a certainty, its greatest virtues are found in the priceless female importance, the skillful editing that balances comedy and drama as only Pixar can do, a super-absorbing soundtrack and an enchanting narrative treatment that simply would not be possible without Bird's experience, the numerous crew and the incredible vocal cast led by Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson and Catherine Keener. Brimming with messages of representation, equality, family and topicality, this laugh-inducing family-friendly sequel is a step forward for animation and superhero genre, and another knockout for a company that honors its gems of yesteryear, that goes hand in hand with new technologies and its roots, that roots that were the awakening of a new era.

it has good messages for unity, acceptance and family values. I think it does not disappoint although I can't quite give 10/10, movie dragged a little bit, villain was weakly done but connected with message of the movie well. Overall - NOT disappointed at all. Go watch it!
