I enjoyed this movie overall, HOWEVER it still is incredibly disappointing and kind of discouraging to see how this movie could have been so much better instead of this safe and corporate sequel we got. Like a better sequel would have been that the film took place years later then right after the last film when the Underminer attacked the city. Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack can be all grown up, taking up identities removed from their family lineage, Bob and Helen could contemplate retiring now that a newer generation of heroes are taking over. It would have built on more of the family dynamic that worked so well in the first film and it would have been appropriate for fans who grew up with the first film. But instead it's basically Mr. Mom but with superheroes...

Okay that's not really fair, there are plenty of things that are good about this film. For one, the family dynamic is still great in this film. As much as I joked before about this movie having the same plot of Mr. Mom, I do like how Bob grows in this film at struggling to raise his kids, which included one touching scene. The action scenes are phenomenal, they make a lot of great use of their powers and setting, especially Elastigirl. I also like how this movie (really both films) feels a lot more like a spy film than a superhero movie, which I mean considering that Brad Bird directed Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, it make sense but still. The animation looks great and it is a ton of fun to see the characters updated with subtle updates to their models. The humor is pretty great too, especially from Jack-Jack which I was not expecting to like that much (although it is more of the characters reacting to Jack-Jack). The music is basically the same from the first film, but I mean the score to the Incredibles is one of the best film scores of the 21st century so who can complain?

Okay so for the bad. A lot like Mr. Mom (which no I will not shut up about), the characters never grow and they just end up right where they were when the film starts. Helen never learns any lesson in the end, Dash and Violet don't get a lot to do, and while Bob does have a meaningful plot about being a good dad, he pretty much just ends up being the same old Mr. Incredible from the last movie! I don't feel like any lessons were learned or any growth given to them. The dialogue can be pretty crap too. The whole legalizing superhero plot is incredibly on the nose and lacking any tension as it's never challenges any of the characters, along with some cringe-worthy lines that just do not sound right when the voice actors are delivering them. But the big issue is the villain. Screenslaver sucks! For one it is so obvious who Screenslaver is, trying to have like a red herring twist to it that is never convincing, and also the motivation they give Screenslaver is just terrible! I mean say what you will about Syndrome, at least he was well rounded, was interesting and had quirks that made him unique, and his motivation made sense to his character!

Overall I get why people will not like this movie, but I still enjoyed it personally. But it really could have been so much better than bordering on average!… Expand

Not incredible enough for me!
Lower than the average Pixar movie. Clearly, It does not deliver. Not as good as the first one. Still a good movie, though.
The writers didn´t push any envelope. Action scenes are nicely done but storywise theNot incredible enough for me!

Incredibles 2 ended up being pretty much what I feared it was going to be, more of a cartoon. However, although it never comes close to the original, it still is very entertaining and tons of fun.

Good movie, i enjoyed it, but, the first one is much much better. The story (in the 1st one), the ambient, the plots, were just very interesting and realistic in a deep way.you really cared about the characters and villians on the firstGood movie, i enjoyed it, but, the first one is much much better. Here, it just feels like a safe, easy going sequel. lacks of action, the antagonist is weak and predictable as hell. It has funny spots and moments, i like the redesing of the characters, the new ones look okayish, but, my problem goes with the plot, so bland, so safe, nothing really interesting to see after the first one. Pixar is going downfall since the last years, yes, deal with it, Pixar movies are not reaching their standars like before. Fun movie, entertaining, but, its bland and safe. I expected a better plot, ambient and structure here. 6.9/10… Expand

I loved the first one so i was looking forward to this. It was a mixed bag of good and bad for me. There a lot of nice action set pieces mostly involving Elastiwoman .
The animation was sharp and beautiful and the sound was great.

The film is heavy with feminist themes .Mr Incredible is the typical dumb man with toxic masculinity and the women in the film are the smart ones .
They do a work reversal with him staying at home and being house dad and her being the hero so we get the guy struggling of course. They are pretty blunt with the hammer sometimes and i could have done without it really but i guess that's what we're in for now for awhile.
The plot was decent and interesting.
The best parts were involving jack-jack and the kids really,especially jack-jack.
Edwina or whatever her name is,the suit designer was excellent as well.
So overall i enjoyed the film but could have used less social justice.… Expand

I think that the first Incredibles film is a masterpiece. What made it so great is that it had--in addition to its eye-popping beautiful animation and action--an emotionally affecting story about a married couple that rediscovers how much they rely on one another, how neither one of them is complete without the other. This made it so much more powerful because it was deeply resonating for adults while still being very entertaining for the whole family. Incredibles 2 is certainly still a lot of fun for the family, but I just didn't feel that it had the emotional heft that was boasted by its predecessor. There are some sweet scenes that explore the dynamic of the Parr family that elevate the story, but they feel much more forced with dialogue that often doesn't come across as natural.

The weakest aspect of Incredibles 2 is its story and villain. Neither of them is bad by any means, but there's just nothing unexpected about it. 15 minutes into the movie, it's clear what the direction is and the plot then proceeds to follow expectations beat for beat.

That being said, Incredibles 2 is another fantastic achievement from Disney/Pixar. The animation is so fully realized that I could not believe my eyes. The color perfectly sets the tone of the scenes, the action is perfectly choreographed and constructed, and while some of the humor feels shoehorned into the script, the vast majority of it works very well and it all adds up to make this sequel a great summer film and a crowd-pleaser.

Considering the first film is my all-time favorite Pixar film to this day, I had pretty high hopes for this to be just as good, if not, better, and that this 14 year wait would really pay off. The result is a fun return, yet one that came up a bit short of my expectations. Really all it felt like was a role reversal of the first. Instead of Mr. Incredible going out to fight crime/the main antogonist and getting captured, it's the exact same things only with Elastigirl this time. Certain side plots felt a bit rushed as well, particularly the opening moments of the film, and it also copied a scene from the short 'Jack Jack Attack' almost word for word, which was a bit amusing but mostly came off as kinda lazy to me. Nevertheless, the action of course is bigger and more colorful than ever and it's got its fair share of fun and humorous moments as well, especially with Jack Jack, but I also wish there could've been slightly more screen time for Edna Mode as well. Overall, it's definitely a fun sequel that's worth checking out, as it gets the job done in terms of entertainment, but I personally felt that it doesn't hold a candle to the first.… Expand

Incredibles 2 was a blast to watch in the theater with awesome fights and jokes that were laugh-out-loud worthy. The villain was insightful and, like most great villains, had a great point to make. I especially liked the creative ways they use the different supers' powers, with each new fight feeling like more than a punch-fest with particle effects. Marvel should take note. One gripe that really bothered me, however, was how they handled Mr. Incredible himself. At the end of the first Incredibles movie, Mr. Incredible had undergone an epic personal journey. He began as a selfish father seeking the glory and adrenaline of his past, to the detriment of his friends and family. After facing numerous challenges and nearly losing his family, he realized that his family was his greatest adventure and became a good father. At the beginning of this movie, all the lessons Mr. Incredible learned have been thrown out the window. He's back to being a bad father who seeks personal glory, only this time he's more violent about it. As a sequel, this seemed to undermine the value of the first movie.… Expand

It was literally the best experience to be in theaters and watch The Incredibles in the big screen at the time. Even if you didn't see it in the big screen when it was in theaters, there's always a chance to relive the experience with Incredibles 2, easily taking home the best movie of 2018 without any explanations or doubts. You clearly do not want to underestimate this film since, like the first movie, it's got enough strength to live up to its title name in particular. It's got what you've seen in the first movie, like basically everything that makes this sequel worth watching. The biggest question comes to mind though... was it worth the 14-year wait? If time went so fast that mentioning 2004 immediately turns the events of that year older than you can already think out of your mind, I say it was definitely worth the wait.… Expand

But other than these things, "Incredibles 2" never really wowed me with its thematic content or narrative developments, especially when it came to its villain. But they can't all be Syndrome, I guess. Still, this is a fun, expertly designed film that just reaches the "worthy enough" zone in terms of following in the footsteps of its predecessor.… Expand

Incredible 2 is a good movie. The story was kind of following the Marvel trend in a way. The humour was just ok for me, and there wasn't a sense of novelty anymore. The pace was good but the movie seemed a bit long at one point. In that sens I am not sure it's for a very young audience. Kids might be scare of some elements in the movie. I give it a 72%. The original Incredibles is not only one of my favorite animated movies, but it's also one of my favorite superhero movies ever. So there's no doubt that this long-awaited sequel was one of my most anticipated movies of this year, especiallyThe original Incredibles is not only one of my favorite animated movies, but it's also one of my favorite superhero movies ever. So there's no doubt that this long-awaited sequel was one of my most anticipated movies of this year, especially before seeing the trailers! I didn't like the trailers, the first one in particular, because I predicted that this movie would lean heavily on a formula we got tired of. This formula includes two messages; the female empowerment, and "taking care of your family is the true superheroic act", and that's exactly what we got in this movie, especially the first message, it's a political issue, so .... why not? This formula didn't just make everything in the movie looks like I've seen million times before, but it also made this movie feels outdated. Actually, the problem isn't only related to the messages, but the plot itself is formulaic and outdated for a superhero movie. Almost everything happens, every event, every element, every part in this movie is archetypal.
The developments of the story are typical. The characters are slightly developed, but also in away that doesn't feel authentic or original by any means.
The villain, Screenslaver, is stereotypical and feels if he comes from an old cheesy superhero movie, or an animated movie from any animation studio except Pixar. This villain even acts like The Joker, so that's saying something. Even his motives are well-worn, and he revealed them in a single monologue. Yes, this very monologue that Syndrome mocked in the original movie. So don't expect a villain like Syndrome. So don't expect to see a villain like Syndrome. And of course, we have a plot twist in this movie but I saw it coming from far away, so it definitely didn't work. Also, what leads us to the ending is rushed and quite absurd. Nevertheless, there are some subtle plot details in the part when Elastigirl was fighting crime. They leaned so heavily on the humor in this sequel. The humor wasn't bad at first. In fact, almost every joke that is related to Jack-Jack worked, and I couldn't help but burst out in laughter almost every time he made a single noise. But the jokes became repetitive, so they lost all their sharpness. Also, the timing of the humor was very bad at the third act. What's worse, at least for me, is that they made Bob Parr a total moron so he can be the comic relief while making Elastigirl the real heroine of the movie. Now, Dash is my favorite Incredible! What a likable character he is! He is very cool, and all his actions are fit for his age. That gave this character a sense of reality. In fact, all the characters act if they were real. When they interact with each other, when they get tired, when they become happy, when they laugh, even when they breathe they feel if they were actual people, if they were humans, and that's really INCREDIBLE! All the cast is great, as usual. But Holly Hunter who shines in this sequel. She gave even more energy Helen Parr/Elastigirl.
I was worried because they replaced Spencer Fox, the original actor who voiced Dash, but I think Huck Milner is even better! Frozone had much more time in this sequel, and that made this character seems much more like Samuel L. Jackson, and of course this is a bonus! Jack Jack's new abilities are basically perfect, both in what his powers are and in how they are revealed. Michael Giacchino's score is gold, and well-used. The animation is top-notch and seamless. But it's the action in this movie that should have a fair share of praise. Incredibles 2 has some of the most thrilling and exhilarating action sequences ever in an animated movie, if not memorable enough. The movie full of flashing lights that aren't just annoying, but they really can be harmful to the eyes, especially if you watched the movie in 3D. I'm sorely disappointed, but I'll try as much as I can not to make my let-down affect my rating, especially because most of the issues I've with this movie are related to one thing, the triteness that I, as a Disney/Pixar fan, didn't get used to. Decent, well made, fun, animation movie by Pixar, albeit reasonably predictable. Not quite good enough to be great. Fun and lots of action. I enjoyed it well enough.

It's missing an interesting villain and I think that is the main difference between this and the first one. Lack of humor, not that it's required but it just felt off like people in the theater were trying to laughI enjoyed it well enough.

Every Super Hero movie demands a good villain. Unfortunately, The Incredibles 2 fails in creating a good one. The script is fine, i would say good for an animated movie, but overall predictable. Characters, Flash couldn't be more useless, Mr. Incredible is more annoying than ever, Violet is also pretty annoying (reasonably), and Elastigirl is by far the best character in the movie (after Jack Jack). Also Frozone is still super cool.

So, overall, the movie is good, but tremendously hurt by its script and villain.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So to start off, this movie could easily be a 6/10 simply because of how lazy Mr. Incredible's parts were. It's easiest to review this film by taking apart the two plots. Mr. I at home and Mrs. I at work, as well as what happens before and after. First, the movies begging. Pretty good, actually. The beggining fight scene with the villian known as the underminer, was pretty solid. Second, we get into the part where the incredibles get in trouble for being heroes when heroes are illegal. They get in trouble blah blah blah. Later Mr. and Mrs. Incredible are apprached by Frozone and he tells them there is a guy who wants to make heros legal. Ten minutes later we learn about this guy and his sister and Mrs. I is choosen to go into hero work and let Mr. I stay home with the kids. This is where we see Mrs. and Mr.'s incredbibles realationship show. They have an imperfect bond and I like how their relationship with each other was written. Sadly though, this relationship is underultilized. Now, into the two main plots. We'll start with Mr. I and his plot while he watched the kids at home. This plot was unfortunatly very lazily written and the worst part of the entire movie. Everything her has been used before. Its just the same dad has trouble taking care of the kids while mom is away with the work Superhero slapped on. Violets boy trouble, Dash's boy trouble, and Jack Jack being a problem because he's a baby. The only thing that makes these problems original is the fact that they are caused by superhero powers (save Dash, he's apparently just bad at math). Despite plot problems, I will give this part of the plot this: Its surprisingly funny. Its not always laugh out loud funny, but you'll find yourself smiling or chuckling at times. Edna's scenes were by far the best and most humorous. I mean, Mr. I's part of the plot was really only comic relief and was only really important at the end of the movie. Next, Mrs. I's plot. I loved Mrs. I's plot. It was fun, action packed and honestly, just really enjoyable. There were no humorous themes and the plot got a bit dark at times which I appplaud. On top of that the action scences are really fun the watch and the villian was really interesting, even if at times her interesting villian motivation ended up being a bit unrealistic. Now comes the twist, the villian is the sister of the guy who wants to make supers legal. She believes her father died (he was shot), because he depended on the supers to save him to much, even after they were made illegal. Its a interesting motivation, even if it is a tad unrealistic. She is known as the Screenslaver and the scences where she uses optical illusions to control people are really cool. Now we get to the part where the two plots intersect. Screenslaver takes control of Mrs. I lures Mr. I to Mrs. I and enslaves him two, and well as enslaving a lot of other heros. I dont know what to say about the conclusion. There is nothing wrong with. The kids free Mrs. I who frees Frozone and Mr. I and they stop Screenslaver from crashings a boat into the city. Supers are made legal, blah blah blah. In conclusion while Mr. I's parts were bland and lazy save some humor, Mrs. I's were fun and intewresting. I found myself able to tolerate the movies many weaknesses due to its stranghts. What I enjoyed the most was the family element, what makes a family, and also how different family dynamics can play out. I found the Parr family struggling with their new situation very insightful and entertaining. Edna was wonderful and Jack Jack was endearing, though by the end I found it a little ridiculous with how many powers he started to exhibit. The villain, though the reveal and character switch was a little predictable and contrived, I found their motivation very compelling and relevant in today's age and added to the suspense. In summary: It was very satisfying, funny, and compelling and I can't wait for the next one. PS:-- The short at the beginner (Bao) was very touching. Not as good as Chess Game, but then what really is right.… Expand

I really enjoyed this one. I haven’t seen the original in forever (I know, I’m a bad Pixar fan), so I can’t really compare it to the first movie, but from what I remember of it, this seemed to get across the same spirit. It had great comedy,I really enjoyed this one. 14 years of waiting for this film to arrive, it feels nostalgic to watch this, as a sequel to the original Incredibles 1. In my opinion, it is a humorous and family thoughtful animated movie of the year as of now.

Even though Incredibles 214 years of waiting for this film to arrive, it feels nostalgic to watch this, as a sequel to the original Incredibles 1. In my opinion, it is a humorous and family thoughtful animated movie of the year as of now.

Even though Incredibles 2 isn't as "incredible" or fresh as it's groundbreaking predecessor is, still viewers will enjoy the entertaining and rather hilarious mayhem of the new member of the Parr family, Jack-Jack who serves as the main comic relief of this film. The stunning 3D visuals are a fantastic asset of this almost 2 hours Disney-Pixar animated fare.

After 14 years of waiting, nostalgia arrives us in the theaters for the arrival of the ingenious Parr family. Mr.Incredible (voiced by Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter) along with their two children still got their amazing voice talents and their wittiness which are delivered successfully onto the theater screen. The plot maybe is not as inventive as the original but still compensated by the dramatic action sequences and the wittiness of the Parr family in delivering an entertaining sequel for any group age. Characterization and designs of some of the new characters including the brand new super villain lacks certain depth and innovation but still produces an adequate and acceptable entry throughout the film.

Overall, the movie is not a disappointment, it still delivers a watchable experience that viewers will come to love and enjoy.

The major pros in this movie, in my opinion, is the humor, amazing 3D visuals, and also the story deserves some extra credit because it includes involvement of family ties, relationships, and family issues revolving around them which is delightful, even though it rehashes some parts of the original. Still a very worthy sequel, after a long 14 years of waiting, and recommended to be watched.

Don't forget Edna Mode's quirkiness and humorous moments here which is worth of the wait, and including Frozone's funny wife which is starred in the trailer.

I was one of the few people who did not watch the original Incredibles film when it first came out. In anticipation for the sequel, I rented the first film prior to going to the theater. In anticipation for the sequel, I rented the first film prior to going to the theater. My opinion after seeing the films back to back was that, I personally found the sequel to be a more enjoyable movie. Both films were great films, but the 2nd one just resonated with me more. The animations had improved greatly during the 14 year hiatus, with Elasta girl having some of the coolest animations I’ve ever seen in a Pixar film. The story felt fresh even in a time with a market saturated by super hero films. Yes, it is a superhero centered film, but ultimately its story about a family comes across as relatable to the audience. Incredibles 2 also added more humor this time around. A few scenes with the Dad babysitting had the theater and myself laughing out loud. I can’t say if the film was worth the wait (as I personally didn’t wait), but I can say it was a very good film. I highly recommend it to fans of the original or Pixar fans in general.… Expand

Being a sequel, I had my expectations in check. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie was. Funny thing is a fair portion of the film in theory shouldn't have been as good as it is. Funny thing is a fair portion of the film in theory shouldn't have been as good as it is. The part of the plot mimes Mr. Mom, they basically just switched Mr. Impossible and Elastigirl's roles, and the same major issue about the superheroes being illegal is rehashed. Yet, the dialogue, humor, and character work is so good in this that it doesn't really matter. The animation is Pixar's best work yet and the action is utterly fantastic. A lot of people have complained that the villain wasn't good enough. I didn't see that. Yeah, Screenslaver is no Syndrome in turns of personality, but the villain had a decent motivation and his mind control technology was appropriately eerie and menacing.

Also, be forewarned that this may not be a movie for younger children. Like the first one, it has a surprisingly mature back bone to it, including what is one of the darkest scenes shown in a Pixar film.… Expand

Following a brief and sincere 'Sorry for keeping you waiting' video package with the voice actors acknowledging the 14-year gap from the first film, Incredibles 2 delivers and exceeds our expectations we've had this last 1 1/2 decade. There's a bit of a timelessness to this film in that you have the old-designed cars, the dapper news anchors and the black and white tv's of yester-year but we've also go high speed trains, high technology suits and...what else...oh yes, superheroes. They don't directly (from what I remember) state the year/period that Incredibles 2 takes place, but the hints are there. Not having lived it, it was great that my enjoyment of the film was not hindered by the fact that I didn't know the references, if any, there were to the 'golden era.'

The plot was solid, further playing on the first film's initial struggle of 'superheroes being outlawed' and it showcased how fickle the masses can be. The introduction of the brother/sister corporate duo made synapses in my movie-goer head think "okay, who's the villain? Her? Him? Both?" I won't go into it but that may have ruined a bit of the movie for me as I was trying to find the twist instead of enjoying it as it came to me. Introduction of 'other heroes' was cool and funny, making for some accent comedy which is almost never not funny, but hopefully they'll be utilized more in a potential 3rd film.

The action felt a bit heavy handed by the end, almost clumping all the match-ups to the last 30 minutes of the film. Certain fight scenes could have benefited from an extra 5 minutes, but I'd be okay if any extra time was devoted to Jack Jack and his furry foe.

Speaking of Jack Jack, I could not be happier with how they handled him. Let's get this off my chest first: HE IS CUTE AS THE DAY IS BRIGHT AND AS THE MOON IS BIG. SO SO SOSOSO CUTE. I like how the studio knew how popular he became by the end of the first film that his screen time was essentially doubled, tripled, and doubled one more time for good measure.

One highlight moment for me was Elasti-girl, who's become the public protagonist in this film, in pursuit of her archenemy. Through coincidentally advantageous technology, Elasti-girl hops from night-time rooftops to alleys and everywhere in between, following the signal. What makes this scene so engaging is the silent nature of it all minus the villain's monologue (broadcasting over television) and how it becomes that scene's audio track. It felt like being a spy and not knowing what's going to pop around the corner. I knew it was too quiet in that scene and having that eerily static voice drone on about taking over the city/tri-state area/world/universe made it more tense than any Pixar film should make me feel.

Did it have good action? Could have had more, but I'm happy with what I saw. Did it surpass the first film? Yes, I can say yes without a doubt. Did it make me want a third film? For sure. Director Brad Bird said it himself that you don't need to see the first to enjoy this, but it will help give it some depth. Watch this one now, then go watch the first, then watch this another time. Rinse and repeat until the 3rd one comes out.… Expand

The fourteen year wait was worth it. This film is the second best Pixar sequel, behind Toy Story 2. There are scenes that look like they are real which is insane. The characters are all great as expected but the villain isn't anything special and can be seen coming. Brad Bird is back at what he does best! I remember reading that he finally just had to stop reading the negative reviews of Tomorrowland, but there was nothing negative about Incredibles 2! I remember reading that he finally just had to stop reading the negative reviews of Tomorrowland, but there was nothing negative about Incredibles 2! My wife looks down on great animated movies and calls them "cartoons" and after sitting through the trailer for ReckIt Ralph2, condescendingly said, "this is the kind of trailer you get when you go to a cartoon", but within a few minutes she was smiling and had a look of wonder in her eyes that remained the entire movie! There were several very young children in the audience, and more than once my wife, myself and my twin 21 year old daughters were laughing equally as hard as these very little kids after a humorous line or scene. That's universal appeal that's very difficult to pull off. When the movie was done, our heads were spinning, having been highly entertained by so much witty humor, dynamic action and occasional touching moments. Definitely merits a 2nd viewing. Thank you to Mr. Bird, the voice actors and the rest of the Pixar staff for creating such a richly entertaining film! It's a real gift to the rest of us!… Expand

In 2004 Pixar made yet another masterpiece and gave us The Incredibles. Not only was it a typical Pixar gem, full of heart, laughs and action, it was also one of the better superhero films out there. Brilliant from start to finish, it's the type of film any age group can enjoy. It was so perfect it left us wanting more and so the waiting game began. I never really expected a sequel because Pixar rarely focused on sequels, preferring original ideas. Yet when more and more sequels came out of Pixar I, like every other Incredibles fan demanded a sequel. So after fourteen long years of waiting everyone's favourite superhero family is back.

Director Brad Bird certainly kept us all waiting for a sequel he wouldn't make unless he had an idea that was as good as or better than the original. And yes it is worth the wait. I loved every incredible minute, the animation is flawless and the fourteen year gap has clearly shown how 3D animation has progressed since the first Incredibles. The story picks up immediately where it left off. Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) is now in the spotlight, out saving the world with the long term aim of changing the law on superheroes. Meanwhile Mr Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) is left at home to take care of the kids. Things are tough enough with Dash and Violet but made all the more difficult with Jack-Jack's continuously emerging superpowers. I've mentioned before that we're currently in a time of endless superhero movies, with a few exceptions most are bland cash grabs but this is different. Another Pixar gem, all about family with a unique take on the superhero genre. The James Bond-esque score by Michael Giacchino has also exceeded expectations. Ultra jazzy and like the first Incredibles it's perfect for complimenting the film. Fourteen years of expectation is not easy to meet, there was so much to live up to it could have easily been a Finding Dory or even worse, a Cars 2. Incredibles 2 is as good as its predecessor, hilarious and packed full of action.

I can't recommend Incredibles 2 highly enough, many of you who are fans of the original have probably been waiting in anticipation for this sequel. So get out there and enjoy. If I give a film 10/10 then you know it's good.… Expand

Though some parts were slightly intense for very young children with a few jump-scares, there really isn't much more I can say aside from the I LOVED it! It was so great to see my favourite childhood super-heroes back on the big screen again and back in action! As well as seeing the Incredibles, I also really, really loved the new characters! My little heart was so full of joy watching this film and I really couldn't say any bad things about this film. The film ended on another cliffhanger with Violet going on a date, only do go on a special, crime-fighting mission with her family (which wasn't revealed to us!) I would highly, highly recommend going to see this film (if you get your hands on tickets of course) with your family and friends! There isn't a doubt in my mind that you won't enjoy it!!

Now I'm sitting here secretly hoping for "Incredibles 3".... hopefully It doesn't take 15 years!!!!… Expand

My kids really loved it. Didn't feel as sharp to me as the first one in terms of the story - kinda flagged a little bit. But the action scenes were AMAZING. And nice to see ElastiGirl get front and center attention.

This movie is as good as the first one, but not better, for one crucial reason. The Incredibles 2, while it is an incredible movie, has the same exact plot from the first one. The film handles the plot greatly though, trying to spice it up a little by reversing the roles between Mr.Incredible and Elastigirl.

The movie is very predictable though, and the big twist is noticeable from the beginning.

The breakout star in this film is Jack Jack! he is soooo cute and adorable and he has the best fight sequence of 2018. He also has an amazing gallery of powers and abilities. I was not a big fan of the new supers introduced. I thought they were a little unnecessary and some of there powers and designs are a little wacky.

This is probably one of the greatest animation to ever be rendered in any film to date. The designs of characters are astonishing, and the worldbuilding is stunning.… Expand

Funny and action-packed, this sequel is about on par with 2016's Finding Dory. By that, I mean it doesn't have near the impact of the first, but is still enjoyable in its own right. The best parts of Incredibles 2 are when we get to see the family dynamic. That's always been the strength of the series, but here it's more apparent than in its predecessor. Elastigirl has definitely got some moments to shine on her own (the Elastibike scene comes to mind), but the story arc concerning the main baddie feels auxiliary and predictable.

Still, I was laughing and enjoying the spectacle along with everyone else in the theater. This one may not have the lasting impact of the first, but then again, it would have been a tall order for us to expect otherwise.… Expand

I consider the original film one of pixar's best, if not the best, and I was more excited than I had been for any animated film in a very very long time. I consider the original film one of pixar's best, if not the best, and I was more excited than I had been for any animated film in a very very long time. With that said, I walked into Incredibles 2 hoping it would be at least a good film and walked out thinking it could be the best animated film of the year. Incredibles 2 sucked me right back into the world that I grew up with as a kid and allowed me to enjoy every second of it just like I did back when the original did. The characters, setting, and world that director Brad Bird built from the ground up in the first film are back and more vibrant and beautiful than ever, with the characters feeling just like they did 14 years ago. This was clearly a sequel that had such passion and imagination behind it and it shows throughout the entire runtime. It's a film that pays respect and builds off the original while presenting it's own ideas, creating a unique experience that doesn't feel like a nostalgia cash-grab. I virtually have no issues with this movie, despite the fact that the villain isn't quite as good as Syndrome was in the first film, but still interesting enough to carry the story along. However, the villain isn't really much of an issue when the film's true strength lies in what made the first so memorable, that being the heroes and their dynamic as a family. There are parts that I enjoyed more than the first, that being the action, which was more varied and more exciting to watch, and the comedy, which has this movie being slightly funnier than the first. Overall, Incredibles 2 is a sequel that people wanted, and it's the sequel people deserve. It delivers in every way that it needed to, and even goes the extra mile in some aspects. It's about as good as the first, and if this means we get to see more of the Parr family in the foreseeable future, than I can't wait.… Expand

The first Incredibles movie became a cinematic phenomenon, and rightly so because of the bold concept it represented and the audacious direction in which Pixar was headed with its production. There just was no way, such a well-received movie was not going to get a sequel...and eventually it did.The sequel picks up where the first movie left off, a villain, the underminer uses a giant boring machine to dig underground into the city bank to steal money from its vault.The Incredibles, along with their superhero partner, Frozone, who also returns, attempt to foil the robbery but fail, with massive damage done to the city. This was my favorite movie as a kid, this and Finding Nemo, and I would play it over and over again every day. I got in trouble and had the movie taken away from me for a week because I told my parents to shut up after hearing Violet say it. The Incredibles was my life, so yeah I was pumped for this sequel! And I loved it! It's such an intelligent and mature animated movie just like the first one. There are multiple scenes dedicated to people talking about their views on society and the world and I was just like wow, I'm watching this in an animated movie. It's unfair to call this or the first one a kids movie because they're aimed towards everyone. I was just bubbling with excitement throughout the entire movie. From the amazing action scenes, characters, and it's philosophy. Yes, there's a ton of philosophy in this movie, and I loved it! The only reason why I like this one less is because the villain's reveal could be seen from a mile away. Clearly, it doesn't really detract from your viewing experience. Oh, and also Jack Jack steals the show. Every scene he's in is awesome and hilarious. Particularly, an entire scene dedicated to him fighting a raccoon. If we do not get an Incredibles 3 I will die, I don't care if I have to wait another 14 years, clearly, this one was worth the 14 year wait anyways. A+… Expand

Walking into the cinema I was hyped but I had my doubts since it might not match up to the first film. But after watching the film, I could say it was worth the wait. The film may not match up to the first film,but it really comes so close. Its really a great film and is just breathtaking. I believe that the story is not as strong as the first one and there are times where you don't feel the scenes. But most of them are spot-on and are really funny. Funnier than the first film to be honest. Overall the film is great. And is just a fun family film and you wouldn't want to miss it on the big screen. It may be 15 years too late, but that wait was just worth it. Brad Bird is just really phenomenal. I hope you watch this in cinema, because it was such a pleasure. It is quite rare for a feature, series or even an episode to match the expectations of its predecessor and live up to the hype (it is higher than usual in here since it has been 14 years) delivering everything that the fans want and a bit more, (just for fun) attaining the perfect balance of commercial and art cinema. As usual, the Pixar animation is rich in it's finely detailed script and visual aesthetics that is not only adorable (Jack Jack steals the show), witty and "cool" to encounter at, but is also thought-provoking that speaks volume on character's perspective through it. The script is adaptive, engaging and filled with exhilarating sequences that up beats the momentum of the situation and elevates the heartbeat of the audience using the character's connection among them wisely that redefines the cultural genre which is taken for granted nowadays. The return voice over cast convincingly sticks to their characters along with the newer cast whose characters are equally juicy and nutrient. Brad Bird; the writer-director, has done a tremendous work on executing his anticipated vision (an ahead-of-its-time vision that is adequate for the current society that we all reside and still never goes pretentious or chalky) on screen. Despite of walking on a familiar structure of the script, the feature is eerily an inversion of its previous installment and still makes sense in a whole new way; kind of like a palindrome, which is poetic of Brad to do so. The pace and the tone of it is kept alive and even throughout the course of it which was palpable in the first installment too, picking up right where it was left. It is rich on technical aspects like sound department, visual effects (the chase sequence of Elastigirl is breathtaking as it leaves the room with a long gasping of awe) and editing. Incredibles 2 is as smooth as jazz for its strong writing, gripping screenplay and brilliant execution not only charms its way around the viewers and instead has a warm gift wrapped under its "family" sheet for them.… Expand

The first one is still my favorite as it had better humor in it and of course, Jason Lee, who was excellent in it. Here, the standouts are Frozone, Void, and Jack Jack. The other characters were great too, but those three characters added something significant to the story. Frozone had a bigger role in this one not just as a friend but as someone who saved the kids and even got them to meet the rich guy in the movie.

While I didn't feel as excited as I did during the island scene in the first one, this one wasn't that bad. The first time I checked my watch to see how long I've been sitting there, it was at 1h15 and it didn't feel like it. Still, not a bad movie and a decent follow-up to it. Violet's side story just seemed unnecessary and could've been edited out, I guess. Dash was OK but he was good when he got control of the car.

It's probably the best Pixar movie I've seen in many years since they started their decline with Toy Story 3 (which you have to admit that the writing wasn't that good in that one.... the "Lincoln Logs" joke was obviously painful).… Expand

Incredibles 2 does the first movie justice, but it isn't near-perfect like the first one. Story: The story of Incredibles 2 revolves around this rich brother-sister duo who want to make superheroes legal again, so they enlist the help of Mr.Incredibles 2 does the first movie justice, but it isn't near-perfect like the first one. Story: The story of Incredibles 2 revolves around this rich brother-sister duo who want to make superheroes legal again, so they enlist the help of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone to help generate some positive buzz so that they can get the law changed. Elastigirl ends up being their main spokesperson, and she's essentially sent out with a little camera embedded into her suit that will record her as she saves lives and defeats evil. But there is a bad dude, Screenslaver, who comes into play and is the main villain. You can probably tell where it's heading from here.

The story is definitely different than the first movie. They didn't just do a role reversal and smack a 2 at the end of the title; there is a noticeable difference in how this movie plays out, at least for the first act. There's more of a focus on the family, and less of a focus on one specific character doing superhero stuff. The individual superhero sequences are still there, but it definitely has more of a family driven vibe than the first one, which I believe was the correct direction to go. As I get to in the next section, the villain is what really brought down my score for this one. The build up was good, the family dynamic was great, the humor was spot on, but the villain didn't bring that presence that I was hoping for. The finale also seemed a bit too easy for the heroes. Characters: Jack-Jack is the star of the show here. He is the reason for most of the laughs, as he's at the center of most of the film's humor. I also enjoyed watching Mr. Incredible try to be a somewhat regular dad after always having some sort of job. It turns out even superhero dads are just...dads. It was nice to see Elastigirl get the nod this time around to be the main on-screen superhero and it was cool to see how she takes care of business. Mr. Incredible relies on his strength and determination, but Elastigirl relies on her intelligence and various stretchy abilities. The villain in this film was incredibly disappointing as a follow up to Syndrome. I was afraid that this would happen, considering how great of a villain Syndrome was, but they really went the generic route with the villain in Incredibles 2 and it disappointed me quite a bit. The villain still does its job and there are some interesting aspects to it, but...eh. Finally, I wish Frozone had more screen time in this movie...but I wish he had more screen time in the original as well. Animation: It's crazy how great animation looks these days. I didn't think I'd notice that much of a difference between the first one and this one, but there's a lot more noticeable detail (apart from the fact that everything just looks better, more crisp). Screenplay: Brad Bird wrote another solid one here. For an animated film primarily meant for a younger audience, he doesn't write the characters to where it feels like they're talking to children. I like that. Overall: Incredibles 2 is a worthy successor to The Incredibles. It has a weaker villain and I feel like the finale was not nearly as enjoyable, but everything else comes together to make it one of this year's best films.… Expand

Costume Design: 9.732/10 I like the way the fashion is interwoven in the film's story through Edna Mode. Besides Edna Mode, fashion is already a part of the conversation from the beginning of the film concerning super hero attire in attendance to the meeting with Winston Deavor. Attire helps a great theme of the story concerning hiding and revealing.

Film Editing: 9.732/10 I didn't feel like any repeat scenes were in use with voice overs. Sometimes repeat scenes are noticeable by repeated character action or awkward placement of a scene with voice overs (which will receive notice in a future review concerning another film).

Make-up and Hair-styling: 6/10 For an animation - okay - It's definitely not like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. At the same time, I don't think that much fine CGI handling with make-up and hair-styling is an aim of The Incredibles 2.

Sound Editing: 7.732/10 Clear, crisp, and accurate. I don't find the baby's mannerisms annoying throughout either: I actually find them more amusing through until the end of the film. There was no overkill sounds to force comedic effects.

Visual Effects: 9.479/10 The Incredibles 2 looks solid and the visuals work very well with the film's flow. The action is well-done, simple, and not corny.

Story: 8.759/10 I like the story. The film brings about a huge timeless theme concerning hiding and revealing which people go through on a second-by-second basis. People want to be themselves and - at times, conform to their social surroundings which may be against the direction of their choosing for their life. Yet, these same people attempt to be their selves in other ways, and - at times, don't reveal their true complete self until another - like a "hero" or "heroine" in position to do so - steps forward to fight for their own rights which supports the rights of so many in hiding. The film draws heavily on the importance of being and unity, of and between, those striving for their freedoms.

Acting: 8.999/10 The voices stimulate the animations. A part of the reason the film is enjoyable is heavily due to the voice acting. After watching a lot of dubbed shows, one learns to realize the importance of voice acting and the difference voice acting may have on a production - especially the final result of a production.

Personal: The Incredibles 2 is an enjoyable film. It's definitely a film worth having in one's film library.

Overall: 8.429/10

Whether it be Toy Story, Ratatouille, or the original Incredibles, Disney Pixar transports you to worlds that are easily recognizable, yet they possess a fantastical element, such as a chef rat, alive toys, or even superheroes, that allowsWhether it be Toy Story, Ratatouille, or the original Incredibles, Disney Pixar transports you to worlds that are easily recognizable, yet they possess a fantastical element, such as a chef rat, alive toys, or even superheroes, that allows the viewer to enter a setting that feels familiar yet new at the same time. These situations foster a sense of intrigue and future attachment to the film's storyline for the audience, where the only question becomes: "When will there be more?" And for Pixar's "Incredibles 2," Brad Bird delivers just that. Bird allows his fans to enter that same world that feels nostalgic to those who grew up in the early 60s, yet almost new at the same time, where the laser gates to Edna Mode's home or Mr. Incredible's "Incredible Mobile" work in parallel to the life the other citizens are living. At my screening of the film, I think only a few kids were present, as the rest of us were either in our late teens or early 20s and 30s, proving that with a great storyline and a drive to create something fresh and vibrant, then, even 14 years later, Pixar's animation captures our inner kid inside us all. Therefore, if I had to sum up Incredible's 2 in one word, it would be no other than "incredible."… Expand

Very kind, fun and good cartoon. Although the focus is on women, it looks organic and pleasant. Unlike many movies where it is inserted for a tick, here it gives charm. I got a lot of fun from watching and from unexpected turns.

Gorgeous animation, the same great characters we know and love, some nice new characters, interesting and clever writing and a few nice surprises help round out this fantastic sequel the world has waited plenty of years for. Now, Pixar, a quick word: I want to say, just because you made a video before the film thanking us for waiting for the film, that doesn't repair the damage. If you plan to make a third one, PLEASE don't make us wait 14 more years. Please and thank you.… Expand

What a return, this film the appropriately named, Incredible. It was so good, I believe it was funnier than the first film but is not as a good as the original [although it is great]. Incredibles 2 is a great sequel and continuation of the Parr family story. It has a lot of great action, the visuals and animation are stunning as always, and the comedy is top notch. The greatest strength of the movie, like the first one, isIncredibles 2 is a great sequel and continuation of the Parr family story. It has a lot of great action, the visuals and animation are stunning as always, and the comedy is top notch. The greatest strength of the movie, like the first one, is the bond between the Parr family. It is very easy to get invested in their relationships and individual characters. The weakest aspect is the new villain. While still a good villain, it does not compete with Syndrome from the original. The backstory of Syndrome and his overall presence and performance is iconic and honestly just really hard to beat. Incredibles 2 does a good job of continuing to explore not only superheroes but the family dynamic of the main characters. But I couldn't help feel that the emotional journey each character went on was a bit more impactful the first time around. So for these reasons, I personally feel the first is still the superior film. But comparisons aside, Incredibles 2 is still a quality sequel with a good story and lots of entertainment value.… Expand

I myself never watched the first Incredibles film in its entirety as I just never got around to it. So going in to watch the second film, I may have not have had the same “hype” as most would, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. So going in to watch the second film, I may have not have had the same “hype” as most would, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. But after the movie, I was generally thrilled. It was a really fun movie. The action scenes were terrific in this movie, with the exception of the one scene with the Mind-controlled pizza guy fight with Elastigirl. With all the flashing lights, it was hard to see and kind of hurt my brain. Also, I could haven lived without the Violet subplot, as it seemed unnessasary to the actual plot of the movie. Other than that I was laughing and in awe of the rest of the film. I would recommend it, but let’s be honest, who isn’t going to see it? It’s a win for me.… Expand

Ironically for us it was 14 long years but for the characters it was just a few hours. It's amazing but this film starts exactly where the original ended.

To replicate the magic of something that was so wonderful it's something very difficult especially with sequels because frankly almost all of them end up being minor spectacles.

I have criticized Pixar for changing their approach by making a lot of sequels because something that distinguished the studio were their stories and their stories were good and original.

With the exception of what they did with the wonderful trilogy of Toy Story all of the Pixar sequels have resulted in minor films. They were good but not nearly as good as the originals.

But I won't really go deep into the film. I prefer for everyone to see it and form their own opinion. I just have to say that I don't think it's superior to the original but I do think it's the best sequel Pixar has done since Toy Story 3. Is the second best sequel they've ever done.

The story is great. The animation evidently improved in a spectacular way. Michael Giacchino's score is excellent, it sends you back to the past and submerges you as if time had never passed.

The villain sadly is not up to Syndrome but frankly I think that's the only problem the film has. It's a small problem but it exists. Nevertheless I repeat this is a spectacular film that deserves to be seen and I repeat: this is the best sequel Pixar has done since Toy Story 3 and it's the only sequel they should have ever done after that one.

Do I want a third film? Of course I would love a third film.
Do I have to wait another 14 years? Well, that's a very different thing. But honestly I have to say it, even though recently Brad Bird said there are no plans for a third entry, I think he really should try because the characters deserve it.
Especially as we can see with the little Jack-Jack who stole this film. He's a wonderful, funny, endearing and adorable character, I say it again, the characters deserve more and we the audience deserve more of those characters.… Expand

Incredibles 2 is my 2nd favorite animated superhero movie, one of my top 10 favorite Pixar movies of all time, it is one of my favorite animated movies, one of my favorite superhero movies of all time, and one of my favorite movies of all time. The writing and direction from Brad Bird were spectacular. The animation was amazingly gorgeous. The voice over performances were stupendous especially Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huckleberry Milner, Brad Bird, Catherine Keener, Bob Odenkirk, Sophia Bush, Samuel L. Jackson, Jonathan Banks, and Michael Bird. The humor, Comedy, and jokes were hilarious. I also loved the incorporation of all of the new superhero's and how the movie was mainly about Helen Parr/Elastigirl being the sole one doing all of the superhero work and Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible having to juggle everyday things and taking care of the children. Also Michael Giacchino's soundtrack was fantastic. Incredibles 2 is as good as the original if not better in some ways and I loved this one more than the first one. An awesome movie. A+.… Expand

With delightful visuals, and a good story, this movie will keep adults and children entertained for the entirety. The subtle-not so subtle anti-screen propaganda is annoying, but is fairly easy to get around. The super mom message was good, and I enjoyed it a good bit. I went in expecting extreme 'super female lead character' motives as the movie industry has been playing on for a while, but it's surprisingly toned down, and is enjoyable versus in your face. The side characters were fairly good, but could've used a little more work. The Jack-Jack subplot was fairly good, and Edna played a very good overbearing aunt. Was it worth the 14 year wait? Sure. It was a good movie, and I'd go see it again any time. Good movie, and with a few tweaks it could be a very well made movie. I'd see a third and have it be a trilogy. Sure!… Expand
