yes it is true this another sequel to a movie that never even needed one, but if you go in and take this movie seriously you're going to have a bad time, just sit back and relax. i loved it.

I love being right, I really do, but when i'm wrong and I get a pleasant surprise it makes it that much sweeter. That was the case with Hot tub time machine 2. I never saw the first one, so maybe this made the experience a bit moreI love being right, I really do, but when i'm wrong and I get a pleasant surprise it makes it that much sweeter. That was the case with Hot tub time machine 2. I never saw the first one, so maybe this made the experience a bit more surprising, but this movie was hilarious, I mean wicked funny. The chemistry between these three actors was special. The script was so funny, and it was so well written. I mean I think some of these one liners are going to go down in history. Essentially being a comedy film, there was a good mystery element going on at the same time. Which gave the raunchy comedy a plot with depth and substance. I was very impressed.
So this film starts off with rob cordrey's character getting shot in his manhood, and the team uses the hot tub to try and go back in time to save rob cordrey's character, but they end up ten years in the future. From there they encounter a legit smart car that gets pissed at robs character and tries to kill him, drug induced party's, and plenty of corky, raunchy humor and debauchery.
I think my favorite part of this film was the banter between the characters, they are all so different but, I cant say it enough, they play of each other so well. Another thing they did right was the films run time. I think It clocked out at an hour and a half. It didn't drag or feel slow at anytime. The films tone stayed consistent and the film was paced perfectly. I feel like as ridiculous this plot was it really worked well, they really did surprise me. Another thing they did well was not use all there material in the trailer. Now that I have seen the film, I think they maybe should have shown a little more, showing how funny this movie really is.
From the crazy drug trips to the little heartfelt moment between lou and jacob this film is so worth going to see if your looking for a good laugh. This is not a waste of money you will 100% get what you are looking for in this film. I can happily say I was totally wrong about this movie. I am going to give Hot tub time machine an 8.5 out of 10. Let me leave you this important life lesson, Don't ever **** in a playground sandbox, you'll get a record and a nickname. Thanks for reading.… Expand

I was hooked in by the marketing of this movie, and had not actually seen the first one. Now, I am a huge fan and can't wait to check out the original. Funny, fun, and well acted by the comedians. Great flick worth seeing!

Funny and entertaining, yet not as good as the Hot tub movie. Worth the price to see but I will not buy the Blu-ray Disc. Better shows are available to see but we had a good time watching.

This movie is a bit of a mess, but I loved the first one and I think people are just demanding a lot more polish with their shi**y modern comedies. Compared to other comedies I've seen, this was easily just as funny, fun, and cliched. Not to be cliche, but I did want to like this movie because I really enjoyed the first one and the critics have been hard n it, but the bad reviews are accurate. This movie lost touch of what the first one was, and a lot of the characters aren't who they were before. Granted that is part of the plot in the end with different dimensions having different Lou's, but Hot Tub Time Machine 2 was almost entirely dick jokes, and a crappy murder mystery.

What it said about artists that become stale and milk their careers until they are a joke is the best plot point of the movie and I think that angle was really well done, but other than that small side-story, this film was awful.… Expand

The sad part about this film is that some of the satire humor works and the cast is enjoyable to watch but all that is buried under all the stuff that doesn’t work. The story of the film lacks any heart and interesting ideas using time travel just for a ton of references to movies that are way better than this one; penis jokes along with other types of gross out humor; and scenes that revolting to watch. While sequels tend to suck the idea of going into the future could lead to some good satire but rather than explore that they just get lazy and do a bunch of laughs. I could criticize this film for ripping off Back to the Future Part II but those are too different genres and several gags in this film do work and had the film been smarter about its humor and hadn’t hit the lazy button it could’ve been entertaining. Instead this film does all the lazy tropes you’d expect of a terrible sequel. I would recommend avoiding this film at all costs. If you need to see this film either watch it illegally online or just wait for it to come out on DVD. You’ll hate it a lot less if you are watching it of your own free will and weren’t forced to see it in theaters like I was. If I had a hot tub I’d go back in time and make sure I never went and saw this movie or prevented it from being made.… Expand

One of the two worst movies I've seen in 14 - 15, the other being Sex Tape. But Sex Tape beats it out because I at least laughed twice in that one. This? I really thought that this adventure in time would feature some cool things, like we haven't seen a raunchy science fiction comedy in a while. But no, the movie falls so low that you will be tired to even hear Rob Codrrey talk again, and that is saying something. HTTM2 is a bad movie, it isnt a comedy, it is a mashup of dick jokes, boobs and unflattering comedy. Does that mean this isn't even a movie?… Expand

So far the funniest movie I saw this year. I don't understand why there are a lot of negative reviews. I laugh so much that I almost pissed my pants. If only I could get my hands on the machine of the title, so I could go back in time and unlatch this monstrosity. The first film had a certain charm, this certainly hasn't!

I'm pretty picky about movies, but I really think this one is underrated or reviewed by people who didn't actually see the whole thing. It had funny moments all throughout the film. Who in the world want to make a sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine? I love the first movie, but where's John Cusack in Part 2? This is one of the worst sequel of the year and that's a good thing. I guess HTTM2 is just not as bad as I think, but it's the sequel nobody wanted or asked for.… Expand

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. What a sad mess. I grimaced the entire time and think I half chuckled once to see if I was still alive. I loved the first one and my bad for not looking at a single review before I bought a ticket. IOne of the worst movies I've ever seen. What a sad mess. I went to a 7:45 showing with my 21 yr old son (a bonding night, LOL) and there were only 2 other people in the theater. I'm actually surprised it got an MC rating as high as 31. I've watched Master of Disguises (got a 12) and that seems like a comedy classic next to this one.… Expand

This movie is a big drag with a bunch of cringe worthy attempts at humor. HTTM 2 should have gone straight to Dvd. The first movie was very good, but comedy sequals seem to usually be bad.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is half-assed and terribly written. I wasn't even really a big fan of the first film but I watched this movie anyway and it turned out to be a waste of my time. First off the series loses on John Cusack who is really the only person that had the ability to lead the cast. I couldn't stand Rob Corddry in this film, he was just such a douchebag. I was drawn to this movie because of Adam Scott but even he didn't impress me. Really Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is just full of a bunch of comedy actors that have suffered in the supporting cast for years and now we know why. Please don't waste your time.… Expand

I went to the theater to see a different movie but walked out of it because it was bad. I then decided to give HTTM2 a try despite its poor reviews. It was much worse. There was no reason for a sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine. There wasn't any conceivable place for the plot to go. This movie just proves that. There isn't really a plot here at all. Just a stupid concept that is lifelessly dragged around soThere was no reason for a sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine. There wasn't any conceivable place for the plot to go. This movie just proves that. There isn't really a plot here at all. Just a stupid concept that is lifelessly dragged around so that the writer(s) could try to make a few jokes and cash in on the first movie. None of that would have mattered though had this movie been funny. It's not.

To be honest usually comedies like this are right up my alley. Unfortunately the jokes here are lifeless outside of a few amusing one-liners. The rest of the comedy is just a bunch of overly stupid, over the top, and obscene gags that have been used before, but have never been funny. It just feels like it is trying too hard. Usually that makes for comedies that aren't funny, but strangely and mindlessly watchable despite themselves. However that isn't the case here. This comedy kills itself by crossing the line, and when I say crossing the line, I men it really crosses the line. Forcing two characters into a situation that involves one raping the other isn't funny. It's demented, sick, disturbing, and just plain dark and revolting. It's things like that which kill this movie.

What we have here is a pointless and revolting sequel that doesn't capture any of the magic of it's predecessor. If I'm being honest, while funny and enjoyable, the first Hot Tub Time Machine was far from art. It was a vulgar, occasionally disgusting comedy that was saved partly due to it's tale of friendship and second chances. This sequel is missing that element. For instance, Rob Corddry's character "Lou" (who takes up the role as centerpiece for this comedy due to the strange non-inclusion of John Cusack) is a selfish jerk that was made strangely endearing in the first movie due to his desire to change and reconnect with friends. Where is that here? In this movie he is just mean and downright evil at times.

It's that missing element that helps really kill this movie. What we are left with is a mean and hollow comedy. One almost completely devoid of laughs and due to some horrific content in the form of disturbing "jokes," should not be viewed by anyone. It's trash and you are better off skipping it. I will give the movie one bit of credit though. The actors here do give it their all. They are convincing despite the material. Talent like that deserves a better film.

I give this movie a 2.6/10.… Expand

Wow, what a mess of a film. Strangely it wasn't as bad as I thought it could be... until the very end. Then it was a whole lot worse. Overall messy editing/acting and plot. It felt like a rushed cocaine fuelled cash-cow that failed horribly.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 takes place right after the first movie with Lou seems to have it all - before a mysterious assassin"You're a **** Nerd and No One Likes You". Okay I got to admit that's the only thing funny in this whole movie.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 takes place right after the first movie with Lou seems to have it all - before a mysterious assassin leaves him nearly dead. But a trip in the hot tub time machine could save him... except it takes, Lou, Nick and Jacob to the future - where they determine the assassin must have originated from.

What I liked so much about the first film is that the whole movie is self aware of itself and even the characters pulled a strange and WTF look when they went back in time in a hot tub. The rest of the movie was pretty funny with some hit and miss jokes or and the cast was great with everyone doing a fine performance. Then I heard about a squeal in the works for a while that I didn't expect to get even made at least, and after seeing Hot Tub Time Machine 2 I can say it's nothing like Horrible Bosses 2 or any other squeal that didn't do well but I wouldn't really call it good as well.

I'm not going to go into full detail for this movie, it's not because I'm lazy it's because since it came out in February which means this review is late so I imagine people wouldn't really care for movie since nobody is talking about but just me. The movie itself is a mess and the trailer for this movie is the only good thing about it. Some jokes hit and miss a lot. Overall Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is an forgettable squeal bait that good all HollyWood is good for.… Expand

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is the film equivalent of an internet troll.

Landing in a wrong timeline!

Feels like 2010 was a long ago, so I don't remember the first film much. Looks like it is an unnecessary sequel, particularly when a very important character goes missing. Even the first film was not great,Landing in a wrong timeline!

Feels like 2010 was a long ago, so I don't remember the first film much. Looks like it is an unnecessary sequel, particularly when a very important character goes missing. Even the first film was not great, though that was considered a mainstream film and this one slipped into the B category. An average story, the theme was not used properly. I'm not talking about the plot holes, but the story construction and its characters.

The old friends meet again after becoming famous and millionaires, but when one of them met an accident, they decide to go back in time to fix it. Instead, they enter a wrong timeline and from there how they get back is what revealed in the remaining narration. The comedies were okay types, but I expected a better one. The twist was very ordinary, for a time travel theme people anticipates a smart twist, but it fell short to stand up to the mark.

Whatever, the production was awesome, all the special effects were acceptable. I mean it did not strongly relied on them, but according to the story's requirement, it managed so well. Less entertainment, but very much watchable and suits as a timepass product. I think the scenes at the end credits are for fun, but it also looks like a hint for possible third film. I'm not against that idea, but if it has a good story and upgraded cast like maybe new ones, I surely look forward.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Those of you who where hoping for a good sequel to the original Hot Tub Time Machine will be very disappointed. Hot Tube 2 picks up where the first one left off, They are all rich and taking advantage of there knowledge of the future as much as they can. This does make for a few funny scenes but then shorty after that the story Shifts to being about finding who shot Lou in the Dick..This is where I find the movie starts to fall apart, Jokes start becoming weird or just overdone, It just starts to feel immature and not anywhere similar to the original. The acting is good from the 4 main characters but it makes it that much worse that the writers couldn't come up with better material for the characters, especially with Hot Tub 1 to work off of. It is kind of sad when the trailer for you movie looks better then it really is, and sadly all the parts from said trailer are in the end credits.

If you where a fan of the original Hot Tub Time Machine you may slightly enjoy this film Or if you like immature humor. Other then that you may want to avoid this film.… Expand

The one and only thing I like about HTTM2 is that mirror scene. The other is **** But I did like the idea of the future but the movie fails at being funny and to entertain the audience. Seriously I loved hot tub time machine and hot tub time machine 2, the same way. It's seriously my favorite movies. Last night when I watched part 2 omg I was laughing so hard.
