Very entertaining light hearted funny movie. Bet millerite is superb, loved her in this role, she is ON point. Great family fun movie.

This is a lovable little movie, the kind that renders any faults moot by the sheer charm of the production. I guess it's not a very good film, but its black magic worked on me.

My favorite Halloween flick of all time. Few movies bring out the childhood nostalgia for millennials quite like Hocus Pocus. The 90s really were the last golden age of cinema. Movies in those days had heart, they had vision, and they were actual works of art rather than the soulless film-factory products of the modern era. Decades of nepotism and corporate consolidation have destroyed creativity in Hollywood. I feel sad for kids who have to grow up watching such garbage. If you’re a kid reading this, don’t skip on Hocus Pocus. May it bring you the same joy it brought to our generation.… Expand

I just started watching this. The ensemble is *just* perfect to make the storyline and jokes, which are admittedly stupid, work in this enjoyable, campy movie. With clunky CGI, the sassy 90s youngsters cliche, and just the general shootingI just started watching this. The film's ending is corny, but it's still a little bit charming. At the very least, it should be nice enough to watch a few times around the holidays.… Expand

As someone who’s never really been into Halloween themed kids movies this one hits the mark with interesting characters, a decent plot line with the trademark Disney cheesiness and the ability to throw in realistic moments and jokes thatAs someone who’s never really been into Halloween themed kids movies this one hits the mark with interesting characters, a decent plot line with the trademark Disney cheesiness and the ability to throw in realistic moments and jokes that adults loved and continue to love to this day. The three witches really steal the show and are finally interesting villains with evil goals and bathe in their evilness rather than most modern “Oh well they weren’t all bad.” Or “Redeemable at the end of the movie.” Tropes which lifts all weight from any even slightly mean situation. It’s a breath of fresh air to watch over again every Halloween before I’m reminded of the current state of the Disney/Marvel corporations.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The OG is the best. Hocus Pocus 2 is a complete waste of time, I will NOT be adding this to my list of movies to watch during Halloween. Keeping it with the original film. The actors should have actually watched this film to study how their characters were in the classic…nothing will compare to this movie. The music, the drama, the romance and keeping current day society out of it is the best. There is a reason why we all go back to the classics. Disney needs to stop pleasing the “social norms” and just make another great Top Gun Sequel. Loving the OG film always and I will forever watch this movie throughout they year and is always my number one on my list of Halloween movies to watch. Along with Nightmare before Christmas!… Expand
