With fine performances in the hands of Close and Adams, Hillbilly Elegy, is a soulless story, that uses extreme drama to try to make you connect with it, however it fails miserably to achive it. Besides that shows that apparently apalachia culture has chosen to be poor, and feeds that stereotype.
