This movie is NOT the del Toro version. It's not the Hellboy 3 most people wanted and are probably going to be angry that it's not. It's more true to the comics and has lots of nods to the comics and what happens in them. There is some issue with the pacing and it would probably make a better mini series, given that there is SO much content they go through, but it is a movie and they have to work with a time constraint as well as a low budget, which I think they took full advantage of. This Hellboy, as I said, is more true to the comics. It isn't perfect, but because so many people are just ripping on it for not being del Toro's Hellboy, I'm giving it a 10. It's more like an 8 or 7. It's very enjoyable and definitely rated 9. The graphic novel content is not watered down to be palatable for children, so don't take your kids. It's very metal and full of action. The creatures are amazingly designed and it's very true to the comics. Expand

Loved it! Harbour won me over as HB. Added his own unique take, which stands out in the modern echo chamber of comic book movies.

Story is a bit of HB medley that stays mostly true to the respected and rightly beloved source. Don't listen to the haters. They're just a little scared and don't know what to make of a comic movie that has a few rough edges and doesn't come with mandatory hand sanitizer. They'll come around when they see it's cool to like the new Hellboy. We'll be waiting on them.

Just take a deep breath, try not to take yourself too seriously, and remember you're watching a Hellboy movie in first world 2019. Enjoy.

While I enjoyed Del Toro's excellent stylistic take on Hellboy, I have to say this is superior in following subject matter, and nails the many colorful tones of the Mignola comics better.

The story introduces us to the lovably insane Hellboy very well with an incredibly intense set of opening sequences, and immerses the viewers into his world very effectively. As things progress we get familiar with some fantastically executed origin stories that portray the comics perfectly, and it expands on so many different characters supremely. The overall story moves along well with some vibrantly brilliant creatures and ferocious fights. When everything unfolds it leads up to an epic finish full of excitement and bloodshed. Once again i have to say it followed the comics rather well and had some great personality and humor to it.

As far as the acting performances go I was thoroughly surprised by how awesome David Harbour was as Hellboy. He was absolutely hilarious and captured the character so well with a wide array of emotions shown. The makeup was also fantastic on him though I was skeptical from the trailers. Ian McShane as Trevor/Dad was excellent as well and contrary to delusional critics they had great chemistry with each other. Milla Jovovich was beautifully sinister as the blood queen and honestly I'd like to see her as the villain more.

The standout imo was the plethora of extremely detailed creatures/monsters throughout especially Baba Yaga. The sequence with her was horrifyingly marvelous. I didn't expect them to blend the paranormal/horror aspects so well but they definitely did. The gruesomeness and gore was prevalent and I thought it was fitting for the adaptation.

For a few minor nitpicks, there are some moments where the cgi is a bit shoddy but it was usually solid. You can tell when they're using practical effects and they are amazingly well done. Obviously you can't use practical effects for giant monsters so I can cut them some slack. Also the soundtrack is a bit spastic with some interesting choices that worked at times and sometimes didn't.

Overall it's a shame this was unfairly accosted which caused it to bomb massively. I would've loved to see where they went from here especially after what's teased at the end of this. Like I said,I believe this is going to go down as a very underrated film and might even develop a cult following hopefully. People don't know what they're missing out of stubbornness.

Flaming swords. And an awesome metal/rock soundtrack. I wasn't bored once while watching Hellboy. This was, by far, one of the most enjoyable, epic, dark fantasy adventures brought to film that I've ever seen. Milla Jovovich was amazing. David Harbour was amazing. Daniel Dae Kim was amazing. Sasha Lane was amazing. You had a guy who transforms into a were-leopard and a girl who can punch the souls right outta the dead. There were elements of Evil Dead, Ghost Busters, and creature feature horror. This movie was so fun to watch that I will be buying it on blu ray. The story is a simple origin story, laying the groundwork for the ongoing plot surrounding Hellboy and his connection to the impending apocalypse. It also litters foreshadowing to events that will occur in a sequel while giving nods to events that have already happened in the comic. I hope it has a sequel in the future.

Critics have tanked this film's ratings out of misplaced camaraderie toward Perlman and del Toro. The actual quality of this film is very high. If del Toro's name was slapped on this production, I guarantee it would be given rave reviews.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am starting off by saying, I do like the movie, the originals, and the comics. The new Hellboy is not the best movie, but I thought it was a good one. At points it was good and at some points it was mildly irritating, and that goes the same as the original it was good and at points it was mildly irritating, but I still like them both. I like both versions of the character, but I like harbour's a bit more because of how grittier and darker it was compared to the original. To me the new Hellboy was a great add-on to the whole Hellboy franchise, even if it had some flaws. The flaws are noticeable, like the soundtrack is a little bit loopy and repeating, some CGI is out there, some character depth is a little shallow (like Nimue), and some of the jokes are little stale. But it is still a good movie at points, like baba yaga's character design and parts in the movie, the demons at the end killing people, the idea of him being a descendant of king Arthur, him wielding Excalibur, his horns are a bit cooler because of the more ruff edges and more gritty look to them instead of flat and shiny like the original, the scenes where dead people talk through the help of Alice, and I personally liked the giant fight scene. Even though it didnt have the help of del Toro and the original cast, it was still good. I don't compare the two, they are totally seperate even though they have the hellboy name. So if you absolutly love the original hellboy and wont open your mind to a different one then don't watch it, but if you're willing to not compare the two and just watch it for how it is then go ahead. This new Hellboy reboot movie has a lot of negative reviews, but I enjoyed myself.

There's a lot of humor and action scenes in this. Gorehounds will be pleased to know that the R-rating is well deserved. They really run with the supernatural/fantasy elements and there's some pretty memorable visual moments.

I've heard a lot of complaints that there is too much going and the movie is choppy. I admit they crunch a lot of stuff in but in fairness, that's not too different than the Hellboy comics. Creator Mike Mignola often fits a lot of separate elements into a single story. (Let's be honest, he's more of an idea guy, than a planning guy.) Personally, I liked that this had a lot of things going on. Say what you will about this movie, but it never gets slow. Even though it's a kinda complex plot, I never got lost or confused about what was happening.

Rumor has it that there was a lot of behind-the-scenes conflict between director Neil Marshall (The Descent; Dog Soldiers) and the film's many producers. And, I can sort of see it. The beginning exposition feels like it was abridged and had a narration slapped on. It felt like in order to make things funnier, there was a lot of recorded dialogue added after filming which was a wee bit noticeable. (Though in fairness to the added dialogue, I may have been looking for it since I heard about the editing issues ahead of time. I'm also aware that now I've told you about it that you could probably be looking for it too and you may not have noticed otherwise. Sorry.) They finally manage to include a Hellboy character that a lot of fans of the comics will be happy about, but he or she is so wedged in that it doesn't feel quite natural.

I loved some of the creature designs in this. The movie includes some pretty creepy monsters. Unfortunately, this is a Millennium film and the budget isn't as big as a lot of the other comic book blockbusters out there. The computer graphics for the monsters are subpar. (A quick look at Hellboy is cut mercifully quick as it is so bad.) The quality just doesn't match the earlier Hellboy films, which are several years old.

David Harbour does a good job as the titular Hellboy. Admittedly, Ron Perlman does a better job of the human, emotional side of Hellboy, but Harbour is definitely funnier. Actually, the full cast is good. Comics fans will be disappointed that main players Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman aren't in this at all. But I credit the creators for trying to separate this from the original films. Hellboy's new partners in crime Alice Monaghan (Sasha Lane) and Major Ben Daimio (Daniel Dae KIm) are pretty likable. (Though I admit that Alice doesn't have much of a story arc and reason to hang around other than to repay a debt to Hellboy.) Ian McShane's Professor Broom, Hellboy's tough love foster father, is a real change of pace from the scholarly figure from the comics and other films, but it's fun to see the actor chew the scenery.

The best thing I can compare this to is the Constantine movie with Keanu Reeves. It's not a perfect product in the grand scheme, but there's enough fun individual parts that I was pleased. (FYI, be sure to stay through the credits.)

That's to be expected though seeing as the previous movie was PG-13 and this is R.
For a movie with hell in the title though, I think it's appropriate.
I don't follow the comics or remember much about Hellboy (2004) but I enjoyed this movie.
This is another movie that made me realize I can't trust critics (besides maybe Uproxx).
If you're looking for a good plot though, look elsewhere.
If you like exceedingly violent action movies with spontaneous comedy this might be the movie for you though.

It's a fun enough movie, makes nods to the original pair in the right places to show it followed the comics enough for a casual fan like me as well. It also has better characters frankly, the pathetic agent and Hellboy fighting over the awful emo pyromancer and a bunch of comic relief crap piled on top. Abe and the Professor were good at least to support Pearlman. I really enjoyed the original film, the sequel was alright enough but more of a love letter to del Toro s ability to create monsters than it was a story in my opinion, and will still happily watch them every few years. That said I would like to see a continuation of this version as I liked where the teasers suggested it was going, though I would concede that the villain it suggests doesn't need a rehash. Expand

This time, it’s the red deviled superhero, Hellboy, getting the let’s try and do it over again approach. I have to start off by saying I was not happy at all when I found out that a reboot was coming instead of a third and most likely final installment of Del Toro & Ron Perlman’s series. I very much enjoyed what Del Toro did with both films and Perlman’s Hellboy performance was just near perfect. It deserved a bookend film to tie everything up and create a solid trilogy. So, with that being said, I attempted to walk into this film with an open mind and not judge it from it’s previous films. I was successful at times but couldn’t help but think about what was done before when watching this reboot. There are moments in the film that work well and some not so much. We are treated to a dark but very quick and morbid opening with Ian McShane’s Professor Broom, taking the role over from the late John Hurt. McShane is a great actor but he is no John Hurt playing this role. Hurt’s interpretation was far better I think and enjoyed his much better. Broom talks about the origins of the Blood Queen (Milla Jovovich) and how King Arthur used excalibur to chop her to pieces and hide all of her body parts across the world in treasure chest containers. The opening works well enough but McShane just seems like he is rushing through dialogue during this which I found a little irritating. This is followed by Hellboy trying to recover a former partner who has been turned into a vampire. As the movie petals along, we are lead to explanations of the Blood Queen’s motivations to different set pieces with tons of blood and gore. I was surprised by how much gore is shown throughout this film. It almost seemed a tad bit overboard especially in the final act when numerous creatures are just tearing through civilians and doing it in very morbid and disturbing ways. The humor seems to fall flat a lot at times and only found myself chuckling at some things Hellboy said. This is where the writing in Del Toro’s begins to show why it was superior. It just seems like this film was made for more of a B movie audience as some of dialogue is cheesy and over the top. I didn’t have any problem with the VFX like a lot of other critics seemed too. There were only moments where some things that didn’t look finished but don’t think they were any bad or worse then Del Toro’s with the exception of he used a lot more creature works then this film does. It just solely depends on VFX for the creatures instead of costume and design. Harbour is likable playing the part and think he holds up well to Perlman. Jovovich is ok here with sort of a campy performance but still does the job. All in all, the film has some moments that work but the problem here is you can’t help watching this and thinking we deserved a final film by Del Toro before we got something like this. Del Toro’s films were just made so much better and when you walk out of this film, it just seems like a cheaper and weaker script than what we have seen before. Grade: C- Expand

OnlyNot particularly fan of the first established franchise, I've came open-minded to this new version and well... I've first seen it on original English language and was thinking this is the perfect example of what is an unnecessary reboot! Only that at least David Harbour is a pretty good Hellboy as Ron Perlman was and the gore effects was really enjoyable. Then I've finally seen it again dubbed in Canadian French, and this time I found it very funny! I must admit that's barely not the same movie than the original version. The voice acting are just awesome, particularly about Hellboy himself, the very gross and vulgar display of dialogues are just funny as hell. That's the first time I have a feeling like this after watching the Canadian French version instead of the original since Bad Santa. Of course the CGI are still very cheap, Jovovich's acting was still damn awful even in an other language and the final result does not looks like a film directed by Neil Marshall regarding The Descent or Doomsday. So if you're planning to watch the film in original English language this will possibly be disappointing, but if you're planning to watch the Canadian French version it's really well worth the watch! While I did enjoy Hellboy 2019 more than I expected, it failed to leave any lasting impression... The editing and direction result in a film tone that flitters between horror, action, fantasy, comedy drama in such a way as to deliver an odd pacing that doesn't ever feel 'good enough'. Worth a peek if you have any interest in this kind of genre blend. Beware of the randomly intense and quite graphic gore sequences!

Although the addition of interesting new characters that we did not see before the completely different approach to hellboy's paternal character lacks charisma and there seems to be no chemistry between hellboy and him. There's a lot of gore scenes that looks very cool but all of them feels very rushed without giving it the time to build up.
The interpretation of David Harbor is very convincing, even his makeup and prosthetics do not look bad at all, he did a very good job, probably the script and the direction in this new take are the problem. In the end it only becomes entertaining and fun moments, but without a doubt the vision of Guillermo del Toro was much more accurate to the characters and folklore that the comics transmitted.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Okay, we had two Hellboy movies directed by Guillermo del Toro, one from 2004 and the Golden Army in 2008 starring Ron Perlman as Hellboy. Unfortunately, I didn't watch the whole two films, but some clips because I didn't have much time. The two movies were praised by critics a lot and the first one was rated 81%, the sequel was rated 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. And then, in 2019, Neil Marshall decided to have this reboot of Hellboy. They wanted to prove that Hellboy should be more modern with good effects and cinematography. But they had also gone too far.

Starring David Harbour was Hellboy, in this reboot, Hellboy had to battle so many monsters. Monsters here and there. There was so much action, these people wanted to make better cinematography so audiences would think that these battles are epic and unforgettable. The performances, I think they're okay but sometimes they sucked. Harbour's performance was really good, he's funny. He made most parts of the movie looked like a joke and kinda like a parody (because the cinematography's better).

I like the humor they added here. I did laugh, especially the elevator scene (up down up down). But Harbour wasn't as good as Perlman's. Then I like the make-up of Hellboy here more than the two previous films. Hellboy was more good-looking here (with long hair and small eyes). Those're the things I only liked about this reboot.

The special effects were really bad. They created monsters filmmakers could do in the 80s like the Gruagach or when Ben Daimio turned into a jaguar. They could've used an animal and add some extra parts. They could've done better in here. The editing was really not cool. This was like a few terrible movies wanted to have good cinematography but had bad CGI like Fant4stick (Congratulations Fant4stick on going way too far and got in the Razzies!). The cinematography was really awesome and if you watch this in IMAX, you would be entertained a lot. I watched the trailer in IMAX thanks to IMDb. I liked the lightning and the sky.

The fact that this movie was rated R was a BIG mistake. They did drop some F-Bombs everywhere, even when it's unneccessary to say the F word in a few lines. They also had some "Strong and Bloody Violence" (I could see these words in the trailer) like in "Deadpool" or "Logan", but they were needless. There were also people being ripped in half, people being stabbed bloodily by the giant monsters. Are they trying to prevent this movie from children? Huh? What? The movie proved that not all R-Rated movies're for adults and 18-year-olds. I'm younger than that and I could watch it with ease. I'm not afraid of anything. Are they trying to copy Sam Raimi's horror movies?

I really didn't know why this movie was based on the legend of King Arthur and the Excalibur sword. It was not suitable. If it is, I should've read the comics. I really didn't like the idea. They turned this whole action thingy into a fantasy like in "The Kid who Would Be King" was released earlier this year and I kinda liked it. Another problem was that they set too many characters in here. Too many actions scene from lots of characters fighting and they also moved from places to places (just like nomads).

This reboot was unneccessary to make. It was soulless but enjoyable. This was one of the movies that were really bad with black bars, good cinematography and sometimes bad CGI like "Fant4stick" or "Suicide Squad". If you find this Hellboy reboot entertaining, then I suggest you to waste 2 hours to watch it.

Hellboy: Welcomed or Rebuffed?

Here we go again! This week we have Hellboy and what a doozy this was. Let’s begin with this film having a hard time being made in the first place. Stories of it initially being a sequel to the original installments fell through and led to this reboot. Either way, the movie was completed and off to the theaters people go. DO NOT EXPECT THIS TO BE ANYTHING LIKE THE FIRST TWO MOVIES. DEFINITELY R-RATED.

Let’s start with the good. Visually, at times, the monsters and demons displayed were absolutely amazing. Sickening but amazing. Truly creative and sick minds brought the words of the graphic novel to life. If anything saves this movie, that is it. These creatures are very cool and I would say pretty awesome to see on a big screen. This movie also plays better/closer to a horror/gore movie than the first installments. There are a couple good action sequences. I can see how people will enjoy that. HOWEVER…

It’s time for the bad and the ugly. Granted I never read the graphic novels, this movie’s plot was the definition of discombobulated. The team that produced this throw everything, except the holy bible, at this movie. The producers of this movie are presumptuous that all viewers have full knowledge of Hellboy, and that isn’t the case. The writing, was pretty awful and didn’t help make anything better. This movie has you learning five different storylines that weren’t really that important to give you minor details that don’t really affect the larger story, in this particular movie. They seem to be setting up a second next movie that in my estimation may never come. Hellboy (the character) doesn’t look that great (visually) and not as relatable or fun as the first installment. The other main characters are also weak, at best.

With, that said Hellboy graphic novel fans… this movie isn’t great but I can definitely understand you all wanting to see this and the creatures created… at best do a matinee. EVERYONE ELSE, wait for this to be on Netflix and save your duckets. It would be cool to see the creatures on the big screen but not worth the money or time. Just check it out for free at home.

From frame one, you're assaulted by this unflinchingly aggressive scent of a studio trying to differentiate its newest product from an older version. "Hey, NERDS! Remember those **** Guillermo Del Toro 'Hellboy' movies that you all HATED?! WELL, GET A LOAD OF THISSSSSSSS," the movie screams at you as you watch helplessly in your seat, now reduced to a fiery crater from the sheer volume of it all. Now, I was never a slobbering fan of the original adaptations, but I guess all it took was one woefully dull and haphazard attempt to top them for me to fully appreciate what Del Toro was trying to do with the character back in the mid-2000's. There was a nuanced caginess to the interpretation of the character, almost a profound sadness that resonated throughout the entire film, ultimately making for a feel that was unique, sardonic, and -- most importantly -- cool. Now, where there was once sadness, there is anger. Where there was once sardonicism, there is now camera-winking punniness. And where there was once nuance, there is now some poor bastard getting his skin ripped off his face. This is a loud, ugly, and poorly put together film, with just a few glimmers of competency: David Harbour's performance, some of the production design, and a couple of entertaining action scenes. Other than these things, though, it's gonna' be a no from me, dawg. Expand

Only Hollywood could take Del Toro's vision scrap it then remake it as a mixture of Underworld and Van Helsing. David Harbour tries to save this but nothing really can. Overall a very low 4 a D+.

Judging from how you read my reviews, you already know the gig, right? Even if a movie is horrible or not Cinema-worthy,I still try to find good things about it,even if they're so small,it won’t matter anyway. Judging from the trailers,HellBoy looked super killer and meta. The style was great, the casting choices are phenomenal, and it tries hardcore not to be a cash-in of Guillermo Del Toro's movies. (Which, ironically, both versions have directors known for the Horror and/or Supernatural material)
And after such a long wait, and the abysmal last minute Production Hell article it had post-embargo,it’s safe to say that HellBoy is not really good. Fans of the Comic Book will really dig it,since there’s almost everything from the source material, but for others,it’s going to be “Just another No-Brainer”. Because that’s what this new version of HellBoy is: suddenly,Lionsgate (and the 19 producers credited on this thing. Ouch…) has taken one of the most underrated heroes in a long time, and turned it into another Action Movie that you will have fun at,and then you’ll instantly forget what you saw (kinda like Non-Stop or the Taken franchise,and...I think A Good Day To Die Hard?),and they thought they did their job well,so here’s a post credit tease for an unlikely Sequel. But I’ll be damned if I say that I had so much fun at it BECAUSE of that. So many problems come from the Story, but most of the Technical Aspect and the R-Rating save it from being a literal Dumpster Fire.
The effects are great, but it’s too bad the quality of it is garbage, but aside from that,we get a good score by Benjamin Wallfisch that, sometimes, tries to be this weird Junkie XL Clone at times,a traditional Sound Mix that’ll be fun to hear on 4K Blu-Ray (since Lionsgate makes every movie on 4K look God-like) and the Artistic Value on this thing…
You know I’m a sucker for overdone designs of Mythical Creatures and Monsters etc,and man oh MAN,does this have great use of Makeup and Set Design. I also love some of the direction choices they made. Being directed by Neil Marshall, who is a Horror veteran for movies like The Descent,it’s easy to pinpoint several scenes nd be like “This is too grimy!”,even if it’s a random 80’s Jumpscare. (That happens…)
The beginning of the movie is really good too. Introducing you to the nightmare that is the Screenplay, while also putting the R to good use,and its brutality.
The Action scenes are really brutal, maybe more so than the recent R-Rated movies we got. (Yes,that also includes Deadpool cutting someone’s head off and using it as a Soccer Ball)
SO MUCH CARNAGE HAPPENS IN THIS MOVIE.
David Harbour as HellBoy is great. He doesn’t beat Ron Pearlman’s portrayal by ANY means possible, but this one feels more reminiscent of Deadpool, only if he was Oh So Angry and Moody all the time, and he was in a HellBoy costume.
But that’s where it all starts to cease and fall apart…
All these good things are put in service of one of the most Exposition-heavy Screenplays I’ve ever seen, beating you over the head with so much exposition and talking, not a single line feels normal or safe from being a line that is filled with past memories, predictions of the future and stuff like that… It was so annoying, but it was luckily saved by the positives I’ve mentioned.
I hate the musical choices they went for the Action sequences. Why do I need a rock beat whenever someone throws punches when I can normally hear a traditional Orchestral action movie music when that happens on screen? Because kids are dumb, that’s why. For being a pretty bad story,it’s mostly used as a symphony of Action Sequences. Not a good one at that, since sometimes it’s ruined by stutter CG Effects.
And I was kinda pissed off at how they treated two characters. Thomas Haden Church, who randomly appears in here, having one hell of a blast, and another one that I can’t spoil in here. But again, this movie is mostly fun. If you want a Superhero no-brainer before Avengers Endgame shatters the whole world, this one’s for you. If you want a coherent story on the other hand, just watch “Shazam!” again….

P.S. Great post-credit sequence you had there,movie...

The story is recycling the origin story with some variants. The actors are fine in the movie, and surely a good aspect of the movie. Harbour doesn't have the same charisma and it's partially because his lines feel generic and with less humor. The action is very unequal, and tends more toward horror style than fantasy. Which I think is a mistake. The FX aren't on the top level here. Some composite effects are too apparent. The CGI of the creatures isn't always great. In that area, the movie is a complete failure to the previous movies. The music is fine. The audio is more than decent. I give it 48%. They should have continued with an original third film (even with the actors changing). Expand

This reboot is a bad joke.
Bring back the real Hellboy from the comics, there is an excellent movie there.

I need a little bit of logic most of all, I need to understand and care about the characters to some degree. This is the story of Hellboy and his father running a sort of Men in Black assassinate all monster Enterprise. There are lots of special effects. Back-to-back-to-back. Lots of monsters. Unfortunately, a lot of them look like Muppets. Which is not scary. It's also not funny. There's lots of decapitations, stabbings and Gore. But none of it is very interesting. There's a scene between Hellboy and his father where he talks about wanting humans and monsters to live together in peace. It's probably the most real moment in the movie. And it lasts about 30 seconds. Is that had been the focal point of the movie, nobody would notice Milla Jovovich and her subpar acting or the bad dialogue. Here's hoping for yet another reboot Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TL;DR - Give it a pass and re-watch del Toro's version once more if you have and instead if you haven't.

After the reveals of the production issues this movie went through it is not surprising to see the movie dwindle in quality from minute one to the climax. Setting aside my love for del Toro and Ron Pearlman, I really do like David Harbour as an actor and as Hellboy as well. The first half of the movie got me in as the secret clans plotting, Prof Broom-Hellboy's interactions and the Foul Mouthed yet terrifying if you ever seen one Pig Creature back story were all pretty interesting.

What I did not like is the train wreck of the writing and a lot of what seemed like editing issues as I felt many scenes just ended abruptly, this really put me on edge as it kept increasing through out the film. Some plot points also started going in weird directions like King Arthur's Blood line/Hell Boy's Half Human Heritage and Excalibur's importance, though I am not sure whether this is cannon accurate; it just seemed to come out of no where.

The CGI was decent and I didn't see any problematic eyesore CGI through out, with one absolute stand out of Hellboy with the flaming sword riding the Dragon; I wish that was a more fleshed out scene than just a vision as that was spectacular.

I always liked Milla Jovovich because she is pretty and I have a special so bad it's good place in my heart for the earlier few Resident Evil Movies. Similarly she did a decent job, here as an over the top Vampy villainess Witch. The Creature effects also were well done for the most part, Baba Yaga's Home was a particular standout. Weirdest possession I have ever seen though; if they were going for a gross out creepy vibe they hit the nail for Alice's Spirit Possessions.

But sadly all in all the whole thing put together was a mismatched puzzle at best, or a painting that the longer you look at the more you start seeing glaring issues that take away from being as glorious it should be.
