You can sometimes almost see what maybe the creators were going for - a kind of jaded cynical reality show attempt at the self-aware slasher, a meta commentary on our desensitization to violence. But that's barely present or comprehensible in this mess. The opening is blasphemous, it does nothing to warrant it's presence in this franchise. The rest is an exercise in stupid pointlessness. I like the reality horror thing, but this is not a good way to end the series. I like that busta rhymes actually tries to fight Michael, but it is not done very well.

In fact it is a bad one and it also ruins the effect of the previous showstopper before it. That being said it is quite a bit of fun and although it's nowhere near as good as the previous film it feels more like a Halloween sequel than that one did. The film centers on a doomed reality show that happens in the Myers house on Halloween night. Of course Myers is there and systematically stalks and brutalizes the wannabe stars. Some of the entertainment is of the so bad it's good kind from Sarah shattering a glass with her powerful scream to Busta Rhymes entire performance. The kills are fun and Rick Rosenthal of 1981s Halloween II sets a decent atmosphere. Although this sequel is completely unnecessary and doesn't move the franchise forward in any way it's marginally entertaining even though it's embarrassing. Expand

The idea is really bland but I had some hope. It let me down but I like the kills and it is still scary but its a horror movie what do you expect. I do not recommend Halloween Resurrection.

I wouldnt say it's the worst entry in the series. It had good kills and it got back to it's roots (of suspensful stalking then killing) and that sort of saved it from being another terrible addition. Good: This movie has a great mask and theme and shows the final fight between Michael and laurie bad: has nothing to do about Michael going after his family (whole reason for Michael to kill) after the first 10 minutes.
