But, he seemed to annoy all of the other characters as well so maybe that was intentional. I doubt it though. Michael Meyers is, well, Michael Meyers. he's a silent big dumb lumbering character. Laurie Strode is in the movie for a whole 15 minutes total at best. all Jamie Leigh Curtis (speaking of her, Tony Curtis died today or yesterday I'm not sure which. But RIP Mr. Curtis. and Gloria Stewart.) had to do was scream and run. Just like the last one to be honest. That's all that any characters had to do. It was just weak or annoying performances all around. 2/10

Plot: Actually, brace yourself: There was no plot. It was simply 90 minutes of Michael Meyers walking around killing people. The first one had intrigue, it had stakes. You actually cared what was going on and why these things were happening. With this, there's none of that. It is 90 minutes of solid killing. No stakes, no plot devices no deviation form that plot. Nothing. It was an empty plot. 0/10

Screenplay: There was no screenplay either for 60%-80% of the movie. It was again, just Michael Meyers killing. 50% of the lines that were there were just "we have to find and kill Michael Meyers. He isn't human" or a variation of that. The rest of the lines were dull and unimaginative. 0/10

Likableness: well, despite everything else, I liked the kills. There were some interesting kills in the movie. Some were ridiculous but others were interesting and well done. There is nothing else to like in the movie. 3/10

Final Score: 5/40 12% (S)
Also, I will say this. This movie is unfortunate because THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE LAST ONE!!!!

TRIVIA TIME: 1. Believing Rick Rosenthal's version of the film to be too tame, John Carpenter shot a few gory scenes that were added into the film despite Rosenthal's objections.

2. In the scene where Michael tries to attack Laurie as she's climbing through the window the scalpel that he's holding was actually just an eraser on a stick.

3. To get the role of Michael Myers, Dick Warlock revealed that as he passed by a room, the Michael Myers mask was on a table. He put the mask on and walked into Rick Rosenthal's office and stood there. After Rosenthal continuously asked him who he was and he didn't reply, he took off the mask and asked if he could play Michael Myers.

So much promise... such bad execution. Less thrills and more gore does not equal a good movie. Want a good Halloween sequel? Go get Halloween 4, H2O and the directors cut of 6.

Joe Pesci, of course, in Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas", stabbing a "made man" in the car trunk with his mother's cutlery. A film about gangsters, the mafia, needs to show how such men conduct their business. It's not gratuitous; it's what they do, kill. Among films of recent vintage, the alleged Zodiac Killer in David Fincher's "Zodiac" deserves special mention. He stabs a young couple, shockingly, in daylight, on a seemingly perfect day. It's not gratuitous, it's historical, and Hitchcockian, to boot. The stabbing in "Halloween 2", while not altogether graphic, becomes so, as the implied violence of Michael Myers(Tyler Mane) upon the nurse feels graphic, because the filmmaker's intent feels inhumane. By my count, Michael stabs the nurse thirteen times. That's a lot of fluid he leaves behind on her mutilated body. He humiliates her; it's "bukkake" with blood. For this filmmaker, death by strangulation is what passes for subtlety, and perhaps, more disturbingly, humanity. Lucky for Laurie's friend, Michael kills her before she gets naked; before she gets stabbed while doing, "it". Unlucky for the moviegoer, her partner had to pee first. The stripper, on the other hand, had no such luck, no time to put on a blouse. While fully disclothed(topless, but not full-frontal), in arguably, the film's ugliest scene(the one with the dog is a close second), Michael bashes her face, repeatedly(by my count, six times), into a mirror. (sigh) Some people find this entertaining. (sigh) Not only is "Halloween 2" violent, the film also lacks narrative credibility. In a crucial plot point, Laurie's epiphany, which is set up as the film's emotional high point, seems downright laughable, due to the circumstances. Laurie(Scout Taylor-Compton) lives in a relatively small-town; she should know what the film contends she doesn't. Expand

I would rather watch Part 5, 6, or Resurrection than this piece of cr*p. What was Zombie trying to do with Loomis' character? I thought Loomis was supposed to be the heor of the story, not an egotistical publicity hound. This movie spends so much energy trying to make every character as obnoxious and repulsive as possible, at the expense of generating any real suspense and terror. Just an awful movie. No two ways about it. Expand

Ridiculous. A terrible film. want my money back. Rob Zombie has a lot of potential but none of it shows in this film. I hope one day he accepts he could be a great director and make a great film.

Rob Zombie seems to have stolen elements from every Halloween movie to make the crap that is Halloween II (2009). I wonder if Dimension Films will give me back the 101 minutes of my life I wasted sitting in the movie theater.

If someone made a remake of Citizen Kane I'd hate that too. Why can't Rob Zombie come up with an original idea? He makes a living on remaking crap movies? I'd rather hang myself.

I love horror movies and i even love some of rob zombie's movies. i thought his first re-make was amazing. it had heart, vision and most importantly it had a story. i was very excited to see his second (and hopefully last) installment I love horror movies and i even love some of rob zombie's movies. i thought his first re-make was amazing. it had heart, vision and most importantly it had a story. i was very excited to see his second (and hopefully last) installment in the series. i was very, very unhappy. i am not trying to compare it the the original series because after all this is rob zombie's vision. the problem i had with it was a. the story. probably one of the worst i have seen in awhile. b. the acting. one of the things i loved about the first one was the young michael. i don't know why they did not reuse him, but this actor was horrible in his place. and finally c. this movie just plain stunk. besides the two reasons mentioned above this movie lacked everything the first one did. there was no heart, no vision (unless you call those delusions throughout the movie them, they were bad). people can say whatever they want about rob zombie, i personally like most of his films, but this one was just over the top and in a bad way. all these words i am writing are coming from a person who loves campy horror films and troma films, but rob zombie messed up this series like most people have re-making these films we grew up loving. i am waiting for the day we can start making movies that are original again and not re-makes of old films or foreign films. One hint - It starts with an F, ends with a K, and has two letters in between. If you can get past the horrible dialague, we get to listen to Laurie scream her head off the whole movie, watch Dr. Loomis serve absolutely no purpose in this "film" other than to pimp his new book, and one unimaginitive hack-hack-hack murder after another. At least throw me a little creativity with the kills, if nothing else. Twice as bad as the remake of part 1, and that's only because Zombie had John Carpenter's original classic to base the storyline on. On part 2, Zombie was flying solo, making up his own storyline, and he crashed and burned horribly with this one. And you gotta love the old "fooled you!" endings. So unoriginal and cliche. Argh.
