One of the slowest and most boring movies I've ever seen and probably will.

I'll always support films that rely more on the power of suggestion instead of seeking the cheap scare, but despite the good virtues of this film like its themes, atmosphere and tone. The fact that relies too much on the resources of metaphors and symbolism ends up affecting part of its functionality because the most accesible parts of the narrative doesn't get the same attention.

However, its idea and representation separate it from the herd and if you are a horror fan outside of the jump scare regulations. Hagazussa is a very interesting option.
I'd consider it a distant relative of Robert Eggers' The Witch.

Slow and boring form over substance. Beside few disgusting scenes, doesn't bring anything new or memorable.
