It was the first Marvel movie that added a sense of humor and some color and it was fun af. The music was also a huge draw as it was well-used in every instance. No fat on that movie at all, no down time. It was enjoyable for every second. Guardians 2 was not as good, but still maintained that energy we loved. Guardians 3 was...okay. Obviously the humor toned down a bit for me as Peter Quill was going through some **** And of course the whole Rocket backstory. Besides that, though, everything was a little off. The music selection was great, but it was all over the place and didn't really resonate with the story. It was just there "hey, member this song??" The villain was kinda goofy and I didn't get why he was doing what he was doing. The plot, along with the soundtrack, was just all over the place again. Still the same vibe, but somehow diluted. Overall, it was a rather disappointing Marvel movie and there hasn't been a really good one since Infinity War for me (Endgame didn't do it for me). Expand

The people and critics who rated this under a 7 or 8 are smoking some bad crack. And I honestly without joking urge them to go to therapy, as this was probably the most touching mass audience flick I've seen in a long time, and I walked out of the theater with a big goofy smile on my face with just a touch of bittersweet feeling in my heart. I say this as someone who hasn't been able to get myself to see most of the recent marvel moves due to fatigue with the material. I can say this certainly isn't a kids movie, even of its not super high brow, there are some visceral and emotional scenes that might stick hard with the more sensitive and young. But if you want a good, blockbuster time, and want to see some honestly thoughtful and creative film work made for the masses, that doesn't take its self too seriously and still manages to hit those emotional notes, Get up and Go See this in the theaters right now, and bring your friends and family because that's a big theme of the movie. 9 out of 10! This movie is the culmination of James Gunns efforts to take the band of Misfits known as the Guardians of the Galaxy and make them an engaging and appealing cast of characters.

I loved the first movie, it is a film I can watch any time to feel good. This film isn't that, Volume 3 is more mature, more intense and considerably darker than anything else Gunn has tackled in his previous outings.

And honestly, it works. There are still moments of levity in amongst it all, but unlike a lot of marvel movies these days, the film isn't constantly trying to force humour where it doesn't belong, dark moments and moments of emotional weight are allowed their time on screen, and it means that this film can tell a far more serious story, whilst still feeling like a Guardians movie.

Visually the film looks great as always, with solid effects, captivating set pieces and reduced but refined moments of heavy action. The script is as solid as ever with believable back and forth between the characters.

I'll not look to spoil and plot points, but the villain is a blend of being truly hate-able, intimidating and well acted, to a few moments of scenery chewing, whether from direction, script or just acting choices there are a few occasions where the delivery was a little too much, but it doesn't detract from the film too much.

Overall, a really solid return to form for marvel who have been struggling lately, and one I would highly recommend, though I would say to be careful when considering taking younger children, as this one really does get quite dark and graphic.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A beautiful send off by James Gunn that is one of the most exhilarating and emotional rides since the Infinity War series. He does an absolutely fantastic job with every character in this movie, while Rockets story is the centerpiece tying them all together. The High Evolutionary was a pleasant surprise of a villain and this makes me wonder what the full cut of Christian Bale's Gorr consisted of since it seems they were most comparable in the recent series. I will absolutely watch this movie again in theaters! Expand

This movie also flips between the classic family friendly schtick and the horror genre, and I feel like both were done at appropriate times and their being in this movie is also justified. It's also one of the few marvel movies where the villain is obviously motivated by something but we never know what his backstory really is, because I don't think we need to know and understand some guy who thinks animal cruelty is a justifiable means to and end. I also didn't find a lot of things to nitpick (and I don't remember any of the nitpicks I had watching) and I generally had a better time enjoying the movie than any of the other MCU movies.

This is also an ensemble cast movie, and I feel like every main character's story was portrayed and wrapped up wonderfully... except for Groot. Who or what Groot is remains unknown. How can he say so little but convey so much? Is he the embodiment of the deepest and darkest of cosmic horrors? Has Groot seen Toys Story before? None of these questions were answered in this movie, and the mysteries continue...

I cried 3 times during it and have just felt shell-shocked from watching it for the past few days with how heavily some of the emotional scenes hit. This film really felt like James Gunn cared about the message of the film and how the stories of all of the characters were handled having had since 2017 to put it all together. Luckily this film is wise enough to steer clear of the rest of the MCU and feels for the most part self-contained. Apart from the whole Gamora dying and coming back viewers don't need to be caught up on the rest of the MCU to watch GOTG 1-3 which I think makes this movie very accessible to watch. The music in this film doesn't always hit as it did in volumes 1 and 2 however some song choices feel especially strong and I think the direction to take it to 90s pop is a good evolution for the soundtrack to express the passing of time and the guardians growing up. Some moments were a bit questionable and the pacing didn't always feel realistic but I don't have too much of a problem with this as any discrepancies in the pacing served the arks of the movie and helped tie it together nicely. Overall one of my favourite Marvel movies and definitely one of my favourite movie-watching experiences. I doubt Marvel will ever top this level of movie again as it is on par with some of their best work. I'm very close to giving this movie a 10/10 but id have to watch it again to decide that. Expand

It brought meVol.3 was a refreshing addition to the Marvel universe that ends James Gunn's trilogy with a bang. It was relieving watching a Marvel movie that had a complete script, no last minute reshoots, completed CGI and special effects. It brought me back to the good old days where Marvel offered a fun entertaining movie with great action and visuals. I even forgot I was watching a Marvel movie towards the end because this movie felt so different from the more recent Marvel films. I was a little indifferent at the beginning, but the more I watched the more interested I was and invested. Every character had time to breathe and it didn't feel rushed. The villain was amazing and Chukwudi Iwuji did a phenomenal job.

What holds this movie back is there was some new characters that I couldn't stand and I cringed whenever they were on screen. This is just a knit pick of mine, but I felt that there were times where James Gunn would play a 80's track in a scene that didn't need it and it felt out of place. Also, there was some unnecessary tension between death and life (that we see a lot in Marvel movies) that didn't pay off and it was frustrating to see that.

Overall I think this is a great superhero movie that is better than Vol.2 and possibly better than the first. I hope this movie is very successful so Marvel takes notice and tries to better themselves in releasing higher quality movies than the garbage that has been released from them recently.

However, I'm absolutely thrilled to say Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is debatably the best of the Guardians trilogy and one of Marvel's best movies, period. James Gunn and the entire cast put their entire heart and soul into this film and you can feel it. Excellent acting from everyone, one of Marvel's most evil villains in the High Evolutionary, a story and writing with a perfect balance of humor, horror, and heart (something MCU higher-ups and writers can learn a few things from), VFX that do not look rushed like in too many recent MCU movies, and a very satisfying conclusion for all team members. It's not perfect, as I feel the film is a bit bloated (namely in the 2nd act) and the Adam Warlock tease at the end of Vol. 2 doesn't pay off all that well, but I had a great time with this film and have optimism that the MCU can achieve the greatness it once had in its future projects with the right writers and directors. They were an unknown group with heroes that were even more unknown than Iron Man (at the time). However, thanks to director James Gunn, he made them one of the most popular Marvel characters and team. There is a joke that the 3rd movie is always the worst which did occur with Ant-Man recently. Does Guardians of the Galaxy fall into this or does it deliver an epic trilogy?

One of the core themes in the Guardian of the Galaxy movies is family and loss. This is still prevalent here and still as powerful. We see the Guardians feel closer as a family than ever but also argue a lot like family too. In terms of character arcs, Peter is still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Yondu and even his mother which is making him go to the bottles. His struggles stem from self-blame for those losses and becoming more protective of his current family, The Guardians. He has conflicts with alternate Gamora who he still sees as his Gamora which she is having none of. Nebula is also a stand-out character this time with her being a member of the Guardians and not an antagonist. She has great interactions with everyone and her character arc is a great one. The character that is the major focus of GotG3 is Rocket. We finally get his backstory which is so dark and heartbreaking that it genuinely brought a tear to my eye. Mantis and Drax are still the idiot duo but they get some emotional moments and even cool scenes where they shine. Likewise, Groot, Kraglin and talking dog Cosmo are mostly just there but they get moments to shine too.

On that note, the return actors continue to do a great job in the role. They all get to flex more of their emotions due to this more emotional entry. Special praise to Bradley Cooper as Rocket who gives a stunning voice performance. Additionally, I must praise Chukwudi Iwuji's performance as the villain High Evolutionary. He gives a full-on narcissistic, zealous and unhinged performance that makes him so hateable. Another standout element from this series is the music and its incorporation of non-mainstream pop songs. James continues to use great songs such as "In the Meantime" by Spacehog and he uses them in great ways that benefit the movie. One difference this time is the use of some more popular songs such as "Creep" by Radiohead and "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machines. Nevertheless, they are used satisfyingly that I don't mind their use. There are a couple of awesome action scenes. The ones that come to mind are the fight against Adam Warlock where we get to see the guardians struggle against a powerful foe. Moreover, there is a phenomenal one-shot-looking action scene that illustrates all the Guardian's fighting prowess and it was so cool. The costumes and set design are well-designed. I love how creative the world is with the unique-looking planets and different alien species. Most of the aliens are done using prosthetics and they look great! The story itself is quite basic as it is mostly a fetch quest but the emotional payoff to all the characters' arcs is extremely satisfying. We get what feels like a proper ending to the original Guardians team that I wouldn't be angry if this is the last we see of these characters.

However, I do have some minor gripes with the movie. Adam Warlock who was teased since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is finally here but he doesn't feel that meaningful to the plot. He is just there to be a nuisance rather than a significant antagonist. Him having the mindset of a child just makes him slightly lame. One common superhero movie issue is the vague villain powers which are also here. The High Evolutionary seems to be able to use telekinesis or emit giant energy blasts but never seems to do it against the Guardians when he should. Alternate Gamora was one of the biggest challenges as it was a Gamora with none of the character development from the first 2 films. In this film, she comes off as way too cold and aggressive than the Gamora of previous films which makes her not that likeable. Although, you could argue that was the whole point as she isn't the same Gamora, plus she does have her character arc. There is also a weird Nebula and Peter subplot that is hinted at but never amounts to anything. Overall, what an amazing end to the trilogy! With MCU projects lately being kind of subpar, it was great to finally have an entry that delivers. We now have another entry in great MCU trilogies with Captain America, Tom Holland's Spiderman and now Guardians of the Galaxy. I don't know what is going to happen with the Guardians of the Galaxy movies now that James Gunn is done and moving to DC. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to what James does as head of DC and I can't wait to see what new direction the Guardians go in.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TLDR: Solid MCU film, darker, with some filler characters but fun to watch. The GOOD
Creep. That's the first song you hear in GOG vol. 3 and it is a fitting song for a group of characters that embraces weirdness, silliness and pure leaded rollercoaster fun. James Gunn perfected the summer comic-book formula and stuck to it. The tone is darker, which is unavoidable given that the origin story present focuses on animal experimentation, but it gives weight to the movie, which has been lacking in the MCU. The general opinion I heard was that this was the best MCU entry in a long time, because it was so fun to watch. The humor, the music, the over-the-top characters and settings. Is not a cinematic masterpiece but is a solid MCU film and definitely worth it if you are a fan of James Gunn style and the GOG characters in particular. In comparing the 3 volumes, I would say the 2nd is definitely the slowest paced and the least fun. I found 3 to not be that behind from no 1, perhaps the first being better just for its freshness and less worn-out humor. I found the villain in 3 to be better. The performance is over-the-top and pure evil with a solid motivation, lacking just a touch of depth. I don't remember the villain from nº1 at all. THE BAD
Some elements are wasted, though, such as Adam Warlock and the sovereigns, which are used just as a segway for the main plot to unfold. Also, Contra-earth gets a lot of screen-time with the bat-characters, supposedly to give weight to its destruction, but lacks depth, since these characters didn't talk at all. I didn't care at all about contra-earth, it was just a filler for the villain evilness. Other characters that could been fleshed out were the villain's supporters, the betrayal in the end felt adequate, but quite hollow as well. CONTROVERSIES?
I can't imagine being able to find any controversy in a silly summer film, but since it's 2023, everything is political now. Animal experimentation seems to me to be the only theme that can rustle some feathers, but I felt the way the film presented it was correct, focusing on the characters’ emotions. We never hear any character commenting on the particularities of the hard topics other than "he is just evil". The topic is not the focus, just a connection between the protagonist and the antagonist. THE CONCLUSION
A fun, silly and entertaining final(?) entry in the Guardians saga that's definitely worth a return to the cinema, if you have been away from MCU for some time. I reckon that fans of the Guardians (not counting trolls) that didn't enjoy particularly this entry is because they don't like Rocket that much, and the humor/formula is getting old to them.

Grade Solid 8 (since Metacritic won't delete repeated negative comments and some people are grading 0 "with some positive aspects" I'm forced to artificially grade it 10)

James Gunn really did tie all the loose ends and elements of the first two films into this climactic finish. I went from not caring too much for Rocket to sitting in a theatre seat teary eyed watching his flashbacks. The humor was great, action was great, visually stunning, it was truly a great MCU film. My only negatives against the film were the 1) script for Adam Warlock (felt like he could of had some more development) but that's me stretching for something to pull.
2) The end credit scenes not really giving us to much to work with in the MCU's future (again stretching to pull something) Lastly, High Evolutionary has entered the MCU's top echelon of true villians.

Better than anything MCU produced since "Endgame" (and we know that bar was very low except "Spider-Man: No Way Home"). Not the best part of Guardians' trilogy, but make GoG trilogy best in the MCU. Story of Rocket is very good (and quite disturbing), lots of emotions, but the rest is good too... Story arc for all characters is quite satisfying. Nice visuals, good acting. Villain: he is sinister, terrifying and pure evil ("Kang, hello!?! He is better villain and looks like you, just saying"), but no background and good motivation make him little flat... Music was always part of GOG, but this time too much, disconnected, unbalanced and sometimes quite annoying... Probably best "one-shot" scene of all MCU! Adam Warlock: he came out too late to be relevant. I like tone shift of this movie, I like darker and more serious take to GoG, but they afraid to kill any of main characters... No agenda, just film - which is always GOOD!. Overall it's quite good goodbye: end of GOG (?) and James Gunn left MCU. It's time to close this phase of MCU. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In reality this movie is closer to a 8.5 but I would feel wrong if I rounded and gave this a 9/10.

I was worried going into this movie. Phase 4 of the MCU has been mixed so far, with some films being better than other projects, and the CGI being of lower quality than normal for a studio like this. Fortunately, this movie is one of the better ones of this phase, and the special effects are all good in this movie. Volume 3 is a lot darker and more serious than I thought it would be, with there being multiple times where the Guardians gruesomely kill others, the exploration of Rocket's backstory of how he and his friends were abused, and how multiple characters almost die. This sadness makes sense though, as the characters have been through quite a bit over the past few movies. The jokes helped balance this movie, since GOTG stories are normally goofy movie with some serious and emotional parts to them. Rocket's backstory is mixed. It is really odd to see cyborg cute animals talking to one another, and in some cases it can be cringey with their dialogue or with their actions. That being said, it was heartbreaking to see them die, and when Rocket went into respiratory arrest and flat-lined, I almost cried. His backstory helps you understand why he is the way he is, and it's nice to see how far he's come since then.

Most of the characters in this movie are well used. The High Evolutionary, the villain, is very effective. He is shown to be a calm person who thought himself as God at first, but it is later revealed that he has a dark side where he is an angry basket-case who won't hesitate to commit genocide in order to create perfection among his creations. I like how the movie makes it clear that all of the Guardians are truly a part of the team and how they all have a part to play in the functioning of the team. The new guy, Adam Warlock, has some funny moments, and it will be interesting to see how he plays out in the future of this cinematic universe. The theme that I took away from this movie was how humanity is imperfect, but that it what makes us people, and our faults can be beautiful. This is the type of deeper messages that I like in stories, so it was nice to see it here. The ending of this movie was a bit cheesy, with the singing being a bit much, and having Groot saying much of anything other than "I am Groot," doesn't bode with me well. That being said, it does well at setting up the future for the next movies.

This entry still proves that Marvel knows what they are doing and how they can still make good content.

Was it better than most of phase 4? Yes, easily. Not only does this have some of the best character work in the trilogy, but in the entire MCU. They all have great arcs that perfectly end or continue their stories. The soundtrack is not like the others, but still great. This also has some of the best action, comedy and CGI in the trilogy. Rocket was also the stand-out. Bradley Cooper did a great job and his arc is one of the best in the MCU. Adam Warlock wasn't what I excepted, but I still liked him. The high evolutionary was also a great villain who you will love to hate. IDK, I don't really have any big complaints. A pretty perfect movie with lots of heart, something that's been missing from the MCU since Spider-man: No Way Home. Guardians vol. 2 was the first MCU movie I watched in the theaters and Guardians vol. 3 is far from the last one I will watch. Expand

After the huge disappointment that was phase 4 and how bad phase 5 started, i can't tell you how happy i am that James Gunngot to direct and write this movie.

If you hated stories that focused on identity politics, or one dimensional characters, or generic tropes that have been used a hundred times before in super hero movies, this is a breath of fresh air.

A movie, not a product. A genuine story that has soul, you can tell that James Gunn has his heart on it. He wanted to leave the mcu with a bang and he did it.

Every character has their momen to shine, their own arc, they all feel like complete characters after everything they've gone through.

And the villain might be the best since Thanos. Sorry Kang but this villain was genuinely well written and the story manages to make you hate him for real.

The CGI is great and creative which is a rare thing for the mcu lately. The action sequences are amazinly creative.

The movie is going to make you cry of happiness, at least i did, and i genuinely mean it. You know how hard it is for an mcu movie to make me cry?

I am so happy this movie exists, and i will watch it again. This might be the true end of the mcu. I highly doubt that Marvel can top this'd I don't give credit to marvel studios or disney i give credit solely to James Gunn, i can't wait to see what he does with his Superman Legacy movie because he might actually make a great superman movie. This guy never misses!

Two things stand out for me. This is Gunn's Suicide Squad (2021) approach applied to GOTG franchise. Every character has an arc of some kind--if rarely a consequential arc (this is not easy to do; Gunn deserves much credit for this). However as the many characters each pull in different directions, the emotional thread of saving the life of one main character is utterly lost, overwhelmed. Some reviewers were affected emotionally. For me, the "save X" plotline played more like the McGruffin in a Hitchkock film: everybody says they care about "X" yet the audience does not have to care about X; we only care how and if the characters survive pursuing "X." VFX are better and more engaging than in AntMan Qauntumania. If this is a box-office hit, I will chalk it up as a triumph of excessive spectacle-itis. Suicide Squad 2021 is the better more creative version of this. Expand

And did it succeed? Well, I guess I could say that it did. Ironically, it was done by the man who went to fix the competitor's business.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is not the best post-Endgame MCU movie, for me that's Eternals, but in my opinion it becomes the third best trilogy in this franchise after Captain America and Avengers and incidentally gives a solid conclusion to these characters as we await what Marvel has planned for those returning in the future.

It's the same formula of course, but it's one that has worked for these characters.
James Gunn knew how to make the most of it, and who would have thought back in 2014 that he, along with Peyton Reed and Jon Watts, would be the only filmmakers to command a trilogy in the MCU from beginning to end.

That there are things I didn't like? Of course there are. Starting with a tedious villain. The High Evolutionary had to be a very different threat than the one seen in this story.
And the other is the biggest flaw, and that is the tremendous waste that was made of a character like Adam Warlock. Someone with the power to take on Thanos one on one, here he's just a pawn. That was terrible.

But there's no point in complaining over spilled milk. After all, it's an ending. A cycle that has come to an acceptable and appropriate conclusion.
Marvel doesn't lose the characters of course, but I doubt we'll see a volume 4 in a long time, if ever. And I say this even with what you see in the first post-credits scene.

Still, it was a good ride. Long live the Guardians of the Galaxy.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 3: A Galactic Misfire & Disaster. Don't waste your money (June 4, 2023 -- A critical review by actual verified independent viewer, Phoenix Thottam)

In a galaxy far, far away, there was a franchise that captured the hearts of audiences with its irreverent humor and eclectic cast of misfits. However, the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy series, sadly, fails to live up to its predecessors. Director James Gunn's attempt to recapture the magic falls short, resulting in a lackluster and disappointing cinematic experience. Such an incredible formulaic disappointment. Did an AI write this script? Ridiculous plot and just a string of special effects. Don't believe the hype. Very disappointed in GofG #3. Don't waste your money.

*Plot and Pacing*: Guardians of the Galaxy 3 suffers from a convoluted and disjointed narrative. The plot meanders aimlessly, attempting to juggle numerous subplots and character arcs, but ultimately fails to deliver a cohesive story. The pacing is haphazard, with sudden shifts from intense action to sluggish exposition, leaving viewers confused and unengaged. It's as if the film lost its way amidst a cosmic abyss, desperately grasping for coherence but failing at every turn. *Character Development*: One of the strengths of the previous films was the depth and growth of the Guardians themselves. However, in this installment, the characters feel like mere caricatures of their former selves. They lack the emotional depth and chemistry that made them so endearing in the first place. Their interactions are forced, and the humor often falls flat, betraying the genuine charm that once made this franchise stand out. It's disheartening to witness the Guardians reduced to one-dimensional shells of their former glory. *Villain and Conflict*: The antagonist in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is an unimaginative and forgettable presence. The conflict lacks the stakes and tension that characterized the previous films. The once-dreaded Guardians find themselves facing a tepid and uninspiring foe who fails to evoke any sense of danger or urgency. This lack of a compelling villain leaves the film devoid of the necessary dramatic tension, resulting in a lackluster climax that leaves viewers underwhelmed. *Visual Effects and Cinematography*: While the Guardians of the Galaxy series has always been visually stunning, this third installment disappoints on that front as well. The CGI is inconsistent, ranging from breathtakingly beautiful to distractingly artificial. The action sequences lack the visual finesse and creative choreography that made the previous films so memorable. The cinematography feels lackluster, failing to capture the grandeur and cosmic wonder that this franchise once exuded. *Conclusion*: Wasted money and time seeing this. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is a total and complete disappointment on multiple fronts. It squanders the potential of its beloved characters, fails to deliver a cohesive and engaging narrative, and lacks the visual prowess that defined its predecessors. The charm and wit that once made this franchise shine have been replaced by a sense of fatigue and creative bankruptcy. This third installment feels like a mere cash grab, tarnishing the legacy of the Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a cosmic misfire that leaves fans yearning for the glory days of this once-promising franchise.

I've been feeling lately with the Marvel movies that they've been on the decline and that they wouldn't have much to offer anymore. I've missed a couple of them already. Firstly, after my experience with the previous films and secondly because of the bad reviews. Fortunately, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 brings the spark back to Marvel, at least in my opinion. I had fun. As always, cool action and effects, so there was a lot to watch, however, compared to those other Marvel movies of late, the story here was the best and most memorable of the entire franchise for me. Some moments I really enjoyed and found interesting. Of course, the music was not forgotten either, as in every episode. To sum up. I left the cinema satisfied because, besides the good action, I also took away memories of a good plot that some of the more recent Marvel works lacked. So in the end, I think it's a good thing James Gunn got a chance. For me, a great film that I recommend to both Marvel fans and fans of the franchise. Expand

So on to the review: This is by far the best Guardians movie, it is a movie that brings a lot of emotions, highly recommend because of the way the plot was managed, visuals fx and so on is really pretty yeah, but the message this movie teaches you is really important, seeing how nowadays most people turn the blind eye on some of the things this movie sheds light upon. Highly recommended, go watch it!

I am very relieved to say that my worries"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" was an amazing surprise and surprisingly dark! After viewing the epitome of mid known as “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” I was very worried going into GotGV3. I am very relieved to say that my worries were superfluous. Not only is GotGV3 an excellent farewell to the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, but it also dives into arguably the best character in the series’ back story. Rocket's back story was the standout portion of the film in terms of tone and delivery. This had to be one of the darkest portions of the MCU, in recent memory at least. At times I found myself more eager to see Rocket's backstory over the main plot of the film. That said, the main portion of the film was great too! Containing one of the Slimiest antagonists in the MCU, portrayed brilliantly by Chukwudi Iwuji, both the main plot and backstory blend together in an exciting, funny, emotional and shockingly gory (for a Marvel film) way.

However, I feel the character of Adam Warlock was tragically and disappointingly fumbled: There simply wasn't enough of him, which is a shame, considering how good of an actor Will Poulter is. But despite the underutilization of the character, Adam Warlock still manages to be somewhat cool and a tad funny. While GotGV3 doesn’t break new ground in any capacity, it succeeds in doing everything very well. I liked that it wasn’t overly saturated with forced humor, I liked that they didn’t make the main antagonist sympathetic, I liked the cheeky “Among Us” reference… Hell, I liked that they dropped the F-bomb! There are only 2 phase five movies out currently, but "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is the best one so far.

8/10, Edgy done RIGHT!

And here is really brilliant work of the actors, I am delighted with every actor from all the characters of the Guardians of the Galaxy team. A big component of these three films is the soundtrack, and this time it pleased me, I'm already running home to download all the soundtracks from the third part. I strongly recommend running to see this movie in the cinema!

This movie is a triumph when it comes to giving every single character the ending they deserve. The love James Gunn has for these characters oozes out of the screen. You know what I appreciate the most about this movie. This movie isn't trying to setup the next MCU project, this isn't trying to setup some alternate versions of the Guardians, this isn't trying to setup another version of Kang, most importantly this isn't trying to setup the next Avengers movie. This isn't treated like a stepping stone towards Avengers Kang Dynasty, the treatment that recent MCU projects have suffered from.

This movie doesn't give a **** about what's happening in the rest of the MCU, and I love that. It has one and only one purpose - to say goodbye to the Guardians and explore the tragic backstory of Rocket...

Just like Infinity War was advertised as an Avengers movie, but at its core it was Thanos' story, this movie is very much the Rocket Racoon movie. The entire backstory of Rocket was simply perfect, down to the last minute details. If you are an animal lover like me, there are some scenes that are hard to watch. This movie has some extremely dark and tragic under-tones and some graphic imagery that does push it's PG-13 rating to its limits. The tragedy that surrounds rocket is the heart and soul of this movie. Kudos to the animators what brought this charecter to life.

This movie has plenty of negatives, but I can't speak about any of them, because all of them are major spoilers . What I will say is that the positives vastly outweighed the negatives for me.

This was a really good movie and too be honest, left me tearful a handful amount of times . Goodbyes are always hard, but it's also important to put the pen down at the right time, and this movie is aware of that.
The galaxy will always need it's Guardians, so untill next time....

It is the perfect end to the guardians franchise, each character gets the perfect send-off and deep characterization. The villain is one of the MCU's worst (in a good way) and when he is finally taken down it feels very satisfying. Speaking of fight scenes, the choreography when all the guardians join up to fight is absolutely stunning. The two things keeping this from being a 10/10 are adam warlock's minimal presence despite his likable character arc and the fact that some of the jokes don't land. Expand
