Terrible acting and completely misrepresents the people the film is about. Also the film-makers collaborated with the very Sri Lankan’s government that had caused the pain of the Tamil people.

So disappointing that the director would take a a story that should celebrate the tamil culture, history and language and turned it into a disgraceful movie!!

A shameful attempt at making a movie that does justice to a beautiful Tamil story. I don’t even think basic understanding of the Tamil culture, language or history was done.

not an accurate depication of the civil war,butchered language and horrible acting. The also only casted 1 half Tamil in this movie ABOUT tamils..

Does not represent the Tamil nor the queer community. This movie is trying to change the narrative of our Genocide by showing nothing really happened. Please don't support or watch this movie.

A disappointing film. Does not live up to the novel. The controversy around this movie shed light on some very important points that Deepa Mehta overlooked and that too involves matters that cannot be overlooked. Shameful attempt.
