Yeah, this is a pretty awful movie, Definitely one of the worst in the series despite the enjoyable kills throughout.

Easily the worst of the franchise. It's pretty boring, the kills are lame, the effects don't look scary, also jason can actually teleport???? It's a very slow and forgettable movie with 0 scares.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. riday the 13th part VIII Jason takes Manhattan I'm sure you expected this movie to be no higher than 9th place and I don't blame you this is one of the worst Friday the 13th movies of all time the only thing keeping this movie from being the last place for me is the little time we are in Manhattan now anybody who has watched this movie knows that this movie takes place on a boat not the most exciting of settings but it was what the crew had to do. It was too expensive to film in Manhattan, so they filmed most of the scenes where Jason is in Manhattan in Vancouver. They only shot in Manhattan for two days because the budget ran out and it's sad because writer-director Rob Hedden had a lot more of Manhattan in the movie, even having a sense take place in Maddison square garden… Expand

Was going to say it was the weakest kills in the series till the guy got his head punched off. The New York gimmick is very minimal in its impact, doesn't even make it there till the final 30 minutes.
