Plays to the cheap seats throughout. Thoroughly predictable, no real insight (and thus, no satirical bite). A couple smirk-inducing moments here and there. Time to retool, Mr. Guest, you've been coasting on goodwill for quite some time now.

Lazy plot. lazy directing. lazy jokes. i was completely bored to tears. guest's previous films are some of my favorites, but here he has completely bombed. aside from willard's antics and the transformation of catherine o Lazy plot. lazy directing. lazy jokes. i was completely bored to tears. guest's previous films are some of my favorites, but here he has completely bombed. aside from willard's antics and the transformation of catherine o hara's face during the film it was completely humorless. i can only imagine some of the above average reviews from critics are because they are in the industry and can relate. i felt as if most of the jokes were aimed at an over 55 demographic ( i.e the "interweb'). i must say guest's film is full of inside jokes that only he gets. i would reccomend to all to save their dollar and not see this in the theatre and to "consider" it for dvd. if you are a fan of guest cling to his older films and hope he gets back on track with his next effort. What has happened to American cinema. This is easily on of the worst movies ever made. I cannot put into words how pathetic this film is. Save your time and money, and just stay home.
