Too bad Americans can't make comedies like this.

Just re-watched it again and I had forgotten how much charm and absolute brilliance is contained within it. So many memorable, obscene and surreal scenes. So many memorable, obscene and surreal scenes. As long as you accept that the movie sort of takes place in a parallel universe, there is so much stuff to enjoy. Anders Thomas Jensen took a Morten Korch script and turned all knobs to 11. Then he arrived at Flickering Lights.

The absurdities hit you like a sledgehammer. It's so crazy that it wraps around and starts to make sense. It's highly entertaining and has a surreal emotional depth to it. This is not just a comedy or an obscene action movie. It has something to say in its own right. Whoever we are - whatever pasts we left behind. There's redemption for all of us in the most unlikely of places, as long as we do our best to get there.

I was laughing and crying throughout. This is one of my favorite movies.

A very funny, jet sometimes serious and sad movie, that shows how good Jensen is as an director and writer. It is a must see for fans of the genre and movie lovers in general.
