4/5★ Bollywood has many variations, but they mostly stay within excepted conventions. Finding Fanny breaks those conventions and brings Wes Anderson style quirkiness to Bollywood.

There is a studied quietness, in contrast to the constant frenzy in Bollywood films. The cinematography is all pastel and natural light, the cast, for the most part, restrained. The films is by no means perfect, but it is charming.

While this is a beautifully shot movie the pacing could have been better. The movie meanders quite a bit after the first half. Also I thought the ending sends off mixed messages and I'm not really sure what the director wants to say. OverallWhile this is a beautifully shot movie the pacing could have been better. Overall it's a stylish film that lacks a bit of substance and is a bit unsure of itself. The director also seems to emulate the style of French indie films a bit too much in my view.… Expand
