After watching Part 1 which was disappointing for me, I decided not to watch remaining parts. But then I thought why watch incomplete story and opted to watch Part 2. Part 2 was better than Part 1.

Like Part 1, this part also had a lot of potential but Netflix missed the opportunity. The storyline was alright and the execution was better than Part 1.

The cast did okay as a whole, however the lead characters are unlikable. Movie didn't have proper horror elements. It was just like a simple slasher movie. Emotional elements were missing, you may not even feel bad for any character when they die or are in difficult situation. One thing that was improved that this movie gives you vibes of 70-80s unlike Part 1, which is set in 90s but it doesn't give you 90s vibes.

Overall, movie could have been much better if there would have been little bit better execution but it was an improvement over Part 1.

Me gustó más que la primera, es mucho más entretenida, las muertes están cool, y es un buen homenaje a los slashers de los 90 como Jason.

The great flaw of this movie is the same flaw that afflicted the first part and that I also mentioned in my review of it.
Despite being different stories, their bond in no way allows the stories to stand on their own.

What I do approve of, and that I found refreshing in this sequel/nexus is that its execution is much more serious than I expected, and much more serious than it really seemed at first.

I mention this because the story is set in a summer camp, so it could lend itself to more campy elements, but I feel like a forced or simplistic humor would have done a lot of damage.

The general idea of this story is very similar to that of its predecessor.
It focuses on following Sarah Fier's story, only this time the setting and the dates are different.
For that very reason it can't help but feel like a recycled plot.
And this is too noticeable in the fact that the movie needs to forcefully explain that part of the plot to justify its very own existence.

In the end, Fear Street Part Two: 1978 is just more of the same that was already seen in its first part.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, but there are also no compelling reasons that could make this movie a more relevant experience or a better one for that matter.

I can't help this from sounding pretty rough, but from what they've delivered so far, the movies in this trilogy are meant to be discarded just as their two hours of entertainment end.

They will hardly be the type of stories that are continually revised over time, and there's nothing wrong with that. Not all movies should be like this.

A throwback to late 70’s and early 80’s summer camp slasher movies. Fits well as a sequel/companion piece to the first movie, even with slightly better pacing and story structure, it manages to keep a cohesive narrative overall.

By far the best of the 3!

The main character; Ziggy and her sister Cindy really made the film; good tangible characters that carried the story.

In the background you have the merits of a really good story; but the screenplay and scripts often feel un-cohesive and jumpy. At times the contrived approach to progression can leave you feeling irritated and bored.

Overall the nonsensical woke forced messaging was mostly removed and allowed the film to go where it needed.

While dropping the original staples that held the first film together, this second entry in the Fear Street Trilogy wholly embraces it's origins and pays bloody homage to Friday the 13th in classic, stereotypical, gory fashion. Almost the entire cast of characters are nothing more than bloody smears on cabin walls by the end, and the authentic acting on display really makes you feel something for most of them when they do inevitably perish. A great summer slasher film with an awesome set up for an insane part three. Expand

This one however had more interesting characters than part 1. A lot of the characters in part 1 are pretty boring and bland and most of the characters are not that. Ziggy and Nick are really interesting characters that get a lot of screen time to develop. While some of their development is one note, they still have some great scenes and they do feel unique. Some of the other side characters are very bland and are only there to provide exposition. I feel that this film had a better scare factor than the first film. I felt a lot more creeped out by this than the first film especially towards the end. There is a scene at the end that really got me because of how it was shot. I still really enjoyed the use of violence here. It was a little tame at first but became very very brutal around the midpoint. Some of the cinematography was pretty great. It still felt bland most of the time but here and there it looked great. A lot of the lore of this universe is explored more here and while the information is interesting, I wish it was presented in a more visually engaging way. It’s a lot of stationary shots and shots of the camera swinging around the characters and it does for almost 90% of the exposition scenes. The end of the film had an interesting twist but if you analyze the film just a little bit, you can see the twist coming from a mile away. If you liked the first part, then you’ll probably like this even more than the first. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is great, i honestly really like this one more than the first movie. The story and script is way better than "Fear Street: 1994". The music and outfits was great and the acting in this movie made me feel like i was actually watching something from the 70s or early 1980s, the acting felt way more "natural" idk, and it's way more gory, brutal, sad than the first one. The plot twist in the end was good but kinda obvious (i knew bcuz in the 1st movie, when they first called Berman, it sounded like ziggy but like an older version of her and Cindy would have looked older in 1994) the film series might just keep getting better and better. It's about on par with the first one but the characters are a little less annoying and the dialog is a little more believable. Still got that glossy Neflix production to it, still pretty poor writing. The film spoils itself in the first ten minutes and tells you flat out that one of the main characters is going to die, thus removing any suspense and emotion for the final scene. The rest was pretty predictable as well. I didn't dislike it as much as the first one, but still not great. It's probably more of a 3.5/10 for me. Time to suffer through part 3 :/ Expand

On the plus side it has all the same good points. It starts pretty slowly, the characters are slightly less engaging, the writing is incredibly thin and the heavy vignette is back. The violence is quite good. The acting is solid. The direction is fine. It’s just so middle of the road that it’s hard to get excited for the third part. They don’t do anything to expand on the world or the mythology. I’ll watch the final part but I am expecting more of the same again. Expand
