After having read so much about the movie, I am happy to report that the filmmakers were able to exceed even my extremely high expectations. Who says that an independent movie cannot be a romantic comedy for once?! Fay Ann Lee presents the two faces of Grace Tang in a very charming, believable and lovable way, the successful Wall Street M & A specialist on the one side and the daughter of Chinese immigrants on the other. On the outside, professional success has made her able to take care of her family financially; on the inside, she is still trying to fit in. At one of these occasions she is mistaken as the Hong kong heiress to Shanghai Tang and meets Andrew Barrington, Jr., an assistant attorney general and son of an Upper East Side family. I loved this movie! Set in New York Chinatown, a romantic comedy, with insight concerning class mobility, and second generation immigrant family relationships. An excellent cast Christine, Biranski, Gale Harold, BD Wong and Margaret Cho, in I loved this movie!
