It's Pinkman's ending. As such, you will get to see more of the unlucky events that always followed the character. It is a "good" epilogue for an otherwise masterpiece.

still, this film serves its purpose wonderfully, and there's nothing wrong with it, it was beautifully shot and acted, it just didn't scratch my itch.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 6 years on and Vince and the team show they can still deliver the badly broken goods :) El Camino serves as part fan service/ part epilogue to the tale of Jesse Pinkman. Intriguing cameos from some of the quirkier supporting roles from throughout the series, some in the form of flashbacks such as the pathos filled moments from jesses time in captivity. There is a great reunion scene with walt towards the end. Overall take away is more high quality tv for true fans to enjoy. Expand

This is the movie I was most nervous about seeing but I can say that it delivers. Aaron Paul is great in this and it is a great closing story for his character. Breaking Bad fans are going to love it.

I was transfixed from beginning to end. I loved the characters and development. I was a huge Breaking Bad fan so that it was perhaps easier for me to follow all the achronus scenes.

I wouldn't call it a complaint, but not much happens over its duration. You see a lot of scenes, especially for the first half of the film, which seem episodic. It comes off feeling like an indie film rather than a drama or action movie. I liked it that way; it doesn't feel like most movies now, and that's mostly why I haven't watched a movie in five months. In any case, by the end of the film I think all the little stories have come together to explain Jesse's motivation and what to feel about him.

I thought it was a very good, motivating movie. It's a fun drama to watch and captivating. Maybe it's more for a Breaking Bad fan and someone who's not expecting some kind of modern movie that's going to mean something to the viewer outside the context of Breaking Bad.

Even though this movie doesn't reach the same level of perfection as Breaking Bad Season 4/5, it's still a very good epilogue in my opinion. I recommend everyone who absolutely loves this universe to watch El Camino. Most of the extreme 0 and 1 downvotes are coming from people who see Breaking Bad as a masterpiece that should never be touched again. They're afraid that the show could be ruined (like what happened Star Wars multiple times). However, I hope that they continue to make shows and movies in this universe because they're not changing anything. They're only giving us new stories and more content. Expand

Expand

El Camino or Jesse the film. Great Breaking Bad experience in film format, which is "only" good not outstanding.

Aaron Paul aka Jesse Pinkman is rightly the protagonist of the film because he delivers a great performance. Acting at a very high level, on the other hand, the narrative structure of the film is unfortunately too simple, sometimes lengthy. Many flashbacks accompany the film, which is a bit annoying in the end.

All in all, it's a worth seeing return to the breaking bad story.

I'm happy we got a definitive ending for Jesse Pinkman and I enjoyed the ride for two hours. I feel this was an appropriate run time and format for this as well. A series would have been too much and a release in theaters would have been gratuitous. I was entertained throughout and it was nice to revisit characters I've enjoyed watching for so long with a story that was engaging and surprising at times. Obviously give this a watch if you're BB fan. Expand

Aaron Paul yet again brings his A-game to the character of Jessie in a new chapter of his life, where he begins to be a lot smarter with his actions and a much calmer and remorseful person. Vince Gilligan also does a great job as a first time director of a feature with interesting cinematography and a good pace and rhythm. None of the actors had really aged since the finale episode of Breaking Bad to the point that it became distracting except maybe for Jesse Plemons whose gained a bit of weight since then so that was a bit confronting (especially after seeing the Breaking Bad Recap Netflix plays before the film).

So yeah, El Camino is certainly a must watch for Breaking Bad fans and could defiantly still be enjoyed by people who haven’t even seen the show although they wouldn’t get the same amount of fulfilment by any means. Check it out gang, it’s on Netflix right now it’s not that hard.

El Camino was neither better nor equal to Breaking Bad as you can't surpass perfection. Breaking Bad is undoubtedly the best or at least one of the best TV series of all time.

This doesn't mean that movie was bad. It shows Jesse's final fate. Everything was same as the show; great cinematography, great acting and great direction. It however has slow pacing and movie could have been shorter. Overall, it has impact on you just like the series and should watch it after you finish the series.
