Solid acting and the premise was very interesting but the painfully long run time as well as a plot that is incredibly unrealistic pretty much ruins it.

And those are its good points. Wait a minute, I see that 14 "citizen reviewers" gave it a positive review, come on, the bad guys might as well have been wearing black hats and the good guys white. I thought Costner was going to try and make some better films, he'd better start reading the screenplays. Some are saying that it's Moneyball without the intelligent thought and realism, I can buy that. Expand

I'm a football fan, and the film fell absolutely flat for me. The story is only believable if you can accept that every single character in the film is an utter moron. All of the trades are absurd and most of the GMs are caricatures of stupidity.

Yeah trades happen but not like this.
~~~Act-1 DUDE SCREWS UP WITH TRADING AWAY blah BLAH
~Act 3 DUDE GETS EVERYTHING AND MORE..
The final act of this story is atrocious..
***They shoulda just made a movie outta Bill Belacheck
trading and somehjow being the best Draft GM ever.
(I admit this as a diehard Bills Fan who hates the Patriots)
~Or the Ricky Williams/Mike Ditka draft story of the Siants/Ditka trading the whoooole draft for Ricky Williams
aka to move up 4-7 spots in 1st round They to get him.
~The Saints do draft him & right away= MIke Ditka lights a cigar and leaves the draft..CLASSIC!!! Even more Odd & iconic weird is Ricky Williams hires Rapper/producer Master P to do his rookie contract and it's a classic for the absolute wrost player contract ever.
Instead of making $+ million a season his 1st year,,Ricky gets league minimum and only gets more if he breaks every record..(i exaggerate but still)
~~Another great draft story is The Cowboys swindling the MInnesota Vikngs into Giving up 2 1st round picks for a almost dead Hershal Walker.
The Cowboys turned those picks & those drafts into The great COwboys of early 19990's with Aikman,Irvin,Emmitt etc...
~So Ricky WIlliams/Dikta/Saints,,,,,,,,,
~Bill Belicheck/Patriots,,,,,,,,,
~Cowboys/HerchelWalker/Vikings,,
Honorable mentions are
~49ers securing Jerry Rice
~The Brady 6(6QB's drafted ahewad of Brady that year)
All of these true stories woulda been 1000X's more ICONIC/EPIC then the nonsense we got with DRAFTDay..
Imagine Kevin Costner playing
JimmyJohnson or BillBelicheck..
