Cumberbatch perfectly embodies Strange’s arrogant and narcissistic personality but via the script is allowed to go through a nice character arc that lays the groundwork for Strange in future MCU movies. The supporting actors do a great job of helping Strange develop and progress as a character, which gives each of them moments to shine and capitalize on their screen time. The fight sequences are above average and are almost certain to keep viewers’ eyes glued to the screen. One thing I really appreciated about the movie is that Strange isn’t the only character who’s allowed to go through an arc. Mordo also goes through some interesting development, which shows that the writers weren’t afraid to give a character with less screen time some progression that almost certainly lays the foundation for Mordo’s appearances in the future. Lastly, the CGI and special effects are some of the best that we’ve seen in the MCU so far and set a high bar for other movies in the franchise. I do have two main criticisms of the film, though. First, this origin story has the same structural formula as Iron Man: a wealthy, arrogant, brilliant guy gets into an accident that alters his perspective on the world and makes him change. Doctor Strange is just a CGI and special effects enhanced version of this, meaning it’s an origin story we’ve seen before and doesn’t add much to the MCU canon. Also, while all the effects are good, they’re bordering on being overused since the film relies so heavily on them and uses so much of them. Overall, Doctor Strange is a solid entry in the MCU and should keep viewers interested and engaged for the full runtime.… Expand

Was a pretty mediocre Marvel movie for me. I would even say it was bad. Not the train wreck Ant-Man was, but decently not decent enough to call it good. Doctor Strange is likable, but who cares, if we don't have to worry about his character? Because the villain is the biggest dumbass of all time and the literal humiliation of Mikkelsen. And that's the problem. At the end of the day, we have an origin story, a villain who makes no sense at all, and a forgettable story I already don't remember, even though I watched this yesterday. My rating is a purehearted 5, as the sign of being irretrievably mediocre and at times, simply bad. EDIT: changed to a 4. bye-bye… Expand

Doctor Strange is a fairly decent, if not standard, entry in the MCU. This movie is basically Iron Man with magic, but better. Cumberbatch's performance is spot on and the conclusion of the final fight is clever. The effects may be overkill at times. Rating - Good

Mediocre but not a bad Marvel movie liked how they introduced magic into the MCU and had Strange have a hero's journey of sorts learning how to put his ego behind him for the greater good.

A very mediocre film. Feels like a demo for special effects with a forgettable villain. There are a couple cool areas of the film. It's not bad, but it certainty isn't good either.

The story is very good the old characters still have good role acting the action segments still hold up remarkably well and always has funny scenes of strange love the film still I think the first doctor strange is better than multiverse of madness

This movie is the bomb! Visually it's spectacular, I can't believe how Marvel didn't give Scott Derrickson the trust he deserved. If it was "only" for creative differences, it was enough simply to find a compromise that was good for both.

Uno de los mayores logros de Doctor Strange son sus efectos visuales innovadores y deslumbrantes. La película aprovecha al máximo la tecnología cinematográfica moderna para crear secuencias visuales impactantes y sorprendentes. Las escenas en las que Stephen Strange se adentra en el Multiverso y manipula la realidad son una maravilla para los sentidos.
