It was really not very good… the actors did great, but the storyline was soooooo disappointing!!!!! There was too much going on, and it had nothing of the classic simplicity of the original.

very campy and very fun, definitely not as good as the original but no one expected it to be, the premise is very genius and underrated and the songs are great

Fell asleep. Takes away all the charm and heart of the first movie. If you liked the first one do yourself a favour and skip this one.

I know it's hard to say but Enchanted was a perfect way to laugh at fairy tale tropes. It worked and laid the foundation that Shrek did very well: making fun of these stories. This belated sequel lives up to its title, it's so disenchanted and lacks that originality, freshness and disruption that made the original such a classic.

If I think about it, Disenchanted has the same problem as Hocus Pocus 2: the low budget is too noticeable and with it the technical limitations and it is only sustained by nostalgia. Personally, I think Hocus Pocus 2 stands out more since it explores a little - just a little - the history of the Sandersons and gave an unexpected twist to the ending. Disenchanted proposed a rather interesting plot twist, but it doesn't work for me

Loved it!! Feels like critics go into sequels just expecting to hate it, with their own biases that sequels are always bad. But I had a GREAT time watching this one. Especially loved the new song “Love Power”

Simply by putting cinema worthy films like Disenchanted straight to streaming. Like both Turning Red and Hulu's Prey, these are great films that are dumped to streaming simply to bolster its membership, leaving potentially hundred of millions of dollars of the table in revenue. This is a worthy successor to the original, returning Adams to the role that made her a star. The rests of the returning and new casts are no slouch either, bringing top notch singing and acting to this film. Along with new songs from maestro Alan Menken (and a dollop of balladering from Idina Menzel), you know that this will be a trip and a top notch Disney's film. Do not miss this flick. Expand

This sequel takes place 15 years later, when they move to suburbia for a more idyllic life. The charms of a fish-out-of-water story are lost in this new installment, delivering a more dramatic storyline. There's still a bit of humor with Maya Rudolph providing some of the best moments. The songs by Alan Menken are tuneful, but rather bland. Overall, without the genre sendups and other satirical elements, this follow-up lack surprises and much genuine humor. Expand

Disenchanted isn’t saved by nostalgia though, like those films. It does pick up though once Giselle (Amy Addams) makes a wish and turns the real world into a fairytale. Addams mostly shines when she is slowly turning into a wicked stepmother and struggles to stay good.
It’s just a decent sequel, not as magical as the first film. With the otherwise talented Alan Tudyk distractingly using his King Candy voice for a talking scroll. It’s unlike him to phone it in but he does here.
Surprisingly enough it’s Patrick Dempsey who steals the show when the spell makes him an overly heroic Prince.

As much as I would love to love the sequel to the iconic first film, it simply does NOT live up to it. It feels like this is where the story HAD to go, but it was just so... bleh.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Undoes the first film in the first few minutes. The music isn't as good this time and feels like padding. Cheaper than the first one despite being years later. Makes the characters unlikable for no reason, and they get really brain dead by the end.
The villian could have been defeated easily, yet wasn't because the character became dumb for the storh and the wish shouldn't have worked since it was too broad and shouldn't have undone everything. Also why does a clock decide when it's midnight? Do digital clocks not exist? This film raises too many questions in regards to the character and plot choices. It's so frustrating.
Just watch the first film. It's smarter and a Disney classic. This is a cheap sequel made years after the fact to cash in on the original film.
P.S. James Marsden (i.e. Donut Lord from the Sonic movies) was the best part for the 2 minutes he got. What a waste of a great character.

Why are people so disconnected from their inner child these days
What is up with people these days, they can't seem to realise that these movies are not meant for the fully grown adults who feel they have to find problems and inaccuracies in everything they come across.
In my family luckily, we are all big kids and can "let it go!" and enjoy these films to the fullest, laughing and crying and feeling everything without worrying what others might think or say.
This sequel has been brilliantly put together with the insane musical talents of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.
The music is rich and very reminiscent of the musicals of old, with very talented singers and dancers.
All of the acting is brilliant and the story is perfectly portrayed by everyone involved.
It has everything required for the 100 years of Disney celebrations, full of magic and heart.
Please don't listen to all the haters, realise that you are allowed to enjoy Disney films without having to overanalyse everything.
Just because you are older in years does mean that you have to grow up and lose magic and imagination.

I would've preferred to see a protagonist that has thoroughly changed and become hardened by the real world on a quest to reignite the child-like innocence and sense of adventure she had in the first film. Instead, we got a story that's thematically not executed clearly, with forgettable characters, and just uninteresting ideas to offer. I was wanting to like the film since I loved the first but every turn the film made was just a missed opportunity for something genuinely great. The first few disappointments in the first hour of the film were sad, and the latter half with more disappointments started to make me angry that such little time and effort was put into the script.
