THE best superhero movie this year. **** Black Panther, it's overrated, sorry. I will admit that I liked, but did not love the first deadpool. I thought alot of the jokes didn't land but in this movie, nearly all of them land with guttural laughter. How this could currently have a 66 from the critics is insanity. With some saying it's more of the same...not even close. It's shocking, gory, funny, heartbreaking and sweet and loving in all the right ways. Now I will admit, some of the jokes don't land and I wished they had more action scenes without as many cuts. But when they don't cut away from the action...its so badass. The 4th wall breaks are top notch and...im sorry but a 66!? Seriously. Youll tongue punched Black Panthers ****. Just go watch this movie. It's is the best movie of the year, so far. Oh and Cable is better than Killmonger and Thanos, @ me Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Every joke works in this movie (except for Brown Panther, as it's offensive), but if you're not a big fan of Mr.Pool, then please avoid the sequel too, because you're not gonna like it either. Otherwise, great fun's ahead and Ryan Reynolds did it again by bringing in youngsters who could take this franchise for the next 10-12 years!! Really amazing!! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It crushes the first movie in everything. Everything was done better in this sequel the ending where he was still making jokes when he was about to die cracked me up and almost made me cry.
the one thing i did not like is that since its a superhero movie. he has to save some people. I would have liked to see Russel become a villain and then kill deadpool himself and then reverse time.

Okay, let me explain. Deadpool 2 is great. It is. It's great. It's funny, it's action-packed, it's got a surprising amount of heart, but it's a mess at some times. The bad first, but before that, go see it, it's worth your money, I swear. Alright...the bad. About a third of the jokes in this movie are recycled from the first one. This works for and against it as some of the jokes are still funny, but other times it feels like they're trying to hard or got lazy. There's actually one joke towards the end that goes on a bit too long and you beg it to end. Think Taserface but somehow more painful. The second part the aspects of the story. The story is not as pure as the first one; while the first one was pretty straightforward, this one was a bit messy and some of the shock of seeing a rated-r superhero movie is lost because of it. But the story is still a pretty solid one. NOW...on to the good parts. The acting is solid all around. Ryan kills it as Deadpool. Brolin is a great Cable. Miller is funny. Peter. The action is well shot and well choreographed, but that's because it's from one of the guys who did John Wick, so don't be shocked. There are plenty of really smart jokes in the movie that will leave you dry heaving, that I can guarantee. Also, this is a sad movie in some parts and you will be caught off-guard, so...yeah, be ready for that. In the end, Deadpool 2 is a solid sequel that does a whole lot better than the first, but does things worse than the first. Two steps forward. Two steps back. In my opinion it is because of this that Deadpool 2 is ironically just as good as the first, but for the right and wrong reasons. I will say this, I do recommend you watch it, then watch it again, because I still love it, despite some of its flaws. I'm glad its here, and I'm glad they pulled it off. Expand

Not only is it a movie sequel that is just as good as, if not better than the original, but it’s a superhero movie sequel that’s just as good as, if not better than the original, and a mature-rated superhero movie at that! It’s a miracle that the first movie did well enough to get a sequel at all! I’m going to say right away that I LOVED the first Deadpool! Not only was it hilarious and action-packed, but it had a lot of drama, emotion and an engaging story with lovable characters! This movie is pretty much the same, just with a bigger budget. You see a lot more locations with a lot more characters in this movie, and the action was improved as well! It was also a little funnier than the original, I think! It had a lot of heart as well. I’m not gonna lie, I got a little choked up at a few parts! I highly recommend this movie for any fan of superhero movies or action-comedies (over the age of 14), but let’s face it, you’ve already seen it. I’m late to the party! Expand

TheLike many sequels, this one isn't as great as the first, but unlike many sequels, it's still pretty damn good! If you saw the original you know what to expect: snarky quips, witty observations and plenty of smart culture references. The off-the-wall superhero is back to fight some bad guys and assemble a spinoff team called X-Force. The action is brutal, but in a comic book style that never lingers on the damage. Even so, the noisy fights become a bit alike. If you're a fan of the original, you won't be disappointed. If you didn't see it, you'll still find yourself entertained. NOTE: Stay thru the early credits for a few gags, but the only thing at the very end is a weird song. Expand

And by being handsome. Mostly the handsome thing. It never won him much critical praise though until he started playing the character of Deadpool. Who, as the comics will tell you, is actually just Ryan Reynolds. So kudos to him for finally finding a way to make that work and getting that superhero franchise he's tried umpteen times for.

Deadpool 2 is more of the same with tons of callbacks to the previous film. I kind of wish they would ditch the sentimentality and just go full on superhero farce already. The cliché emotional stuff with Morena Baccarin is easily the least interesting part of the whole thing. The movie is at it's best when it's delivering more of the crude, irreverent humor and gleefully gratuitous violence of it's predecessor. Luckily, that's what it spends most of it's time doing.

Nearly every bit of pop culture you could think of gets skewered here. Especially other superhero movies. Deadpool once again did a way better job of having the characters operate like the do in the comics than any of the main X-Men films ever have. Even to the point of fixing another tragically mishandled fan-favorite villain. It's also still very refreshing to experience a superhero film make such liberal use of gore, heavy profanity, and killing. Let's hope Disney and Marvel take some notes from what Fox was able to achieve by making R-rated cape and costume flicks now that they've recovered their long absent mutants. Oh, and that they keep Reynolds around.

Deadpool 2 doesn't really take it's title character in any new directions or branch out from what the previous film did much at all. And it didn't really need to. The first Deadpool was such a breath of fresh air (even in spite of sticking close to origin story conventions) that a second helping feels like exactly what we needed. Especially since round two might actually be a bit funnier. Let's also not forget how it's one of the best Fox movies at doing the comics justice. Even the X-Men films I've really liked have managed to butcher a character in one way or another. Deadpool 2 gets them all right and limits it's use of the overexposed Wolverine to a few well-placed jokes.

The plot itself, which I won't spoil here, isn't overly important but does offer enough suitably emotional beats to allow audiences to invest in the plight of the characters. As with the first movie however it’s the humour that really shines. Yes, some might describe things as "childish" or "crude" but Ryan Reynolds was simply born to play Deadpool and I'm happy to admit that I found myself laughing out loud during many scenes. I for one would be happy to see another entry in this series.

DP 2 hits on literally the same notes as the first movie and there's a good amount of 4th wall breaking action to go with a few rehashed jokes from the original. It's still absolutely hilarious to watch and Ryan Reynolds is definitely not afraid to make fun of himself at any moment to garner a laugh or two. I just wish that the one thing the movie wasn't afraid of was making fun of it's super dull, and super boring main plot that barely acts as a way to keep the laughs going. It was the same with the first movie. The writers are clearly not afraid to poke fun at anything, unless that happens to carry anything forward with the plot. It's such an easy setup too since both movies now have been almost the definition of a stereotypical hero growth formula we've seen from hundreds of other movies at this point. Still I'll give them credit for pushing the envelope yet again here with some of the humor subject matter and it makes me wonder what they'll do for future movies since Marvel will prob own the X-Men franchise before a 3rd one can come out. You don't need to see the first film in order for this one to be good. However, I feel like events that take place in this film make the first one irrelevant. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but something that I noticed. The comedy is well placed, for this most part, and works well (again...for the most part). The action is great and the music that accompanies it is as well. Ryan Reynolds kills it yet again, which was expected. You can tell that he loves playing this characters, and that getting it right means a lot to him. As mentioned before, some jokes didn't land the way there were meant to and sometimes ruined the scene. There is a scene near the end of this film that is meant to be completely serious because there is no joke in that scene. The emotional core of that scene just isn't there because the characters don't earn that moment. There is a good balance of comedy and seriousness that a film must have if it wants to achieve an emotional moment. Unfortunately, Deadpool 2 does not have that nor does the story allow the time needed to build that connection. Putting that aside, Josh Brolin is amazing as Cable and is a very good villain. The whole cast is great but some have been sidelined. There are plenty of new characters and many surprises that come along with them that make this an enjoyable film. The cameos are great and the post credit scene is even better. My hope is that for Deadpool 3 they create a better story that isn't as basic as the first two films. It worked great the first time, but if you want to build characters and have the audience connect with them you need to have better motivations and more of an emotional core. Expand

Reynolds holds the fort with his on-point portrayal of every fanboy's favourite off the curve comic book hero with a wry, unceasing wit and the explosive energy of a man constantly jacked up on speed. The action is pretty consistent although there are a few dips into the soppier stuff here and there because....the audience has feelings(yawn)! All said, the pace and is excellent and there's more than enough to hold your attention throughout. As a cast, there are some very familiar faces as well as some choice cameos from Hollywoods finest. Josh Brolin is fantastic as the big baddie Cable, Zazie Beetz as Domino does some serious scene-stealing and the film's youngest star, Julian Dennison brilliantly portrays the angst-ridden teenager Russell. On the negative side, I thought the X-men were given too significant a role and took away rather than added to the story. The characters are quite bland and all the humour centred around them had been exhausted the first time around. Some of the VFX could have been better, notably Colossus and Juggernaut. They never looked convincing, and the animation was distractingly stilted at times. Many of the jokes centred around Colussus, in particular, didn't land. All in all pretty minor quibbles in what is otherwise a very satisfying venture with plenty of laughs and gory action. Expand

Deep for a superhero movie - the puns and allusions came so fast you have to watch it twice to hear them all (ok, puns and allusions are not "deep" in the philosophical sense - but they are intellectual). And, unlike most of Marvel's universe, the villains/bad guys can actually and do redeem themselves - ok, some are not allowed to, but at least some do. That is the problem with superhero movies, ~"a great hero requires a great villain", i.e. pure evil, which of course, does not exist - just as superheros do not. Be that as it may, this one was fun to watch, had great humor - ok, here comes the sermon - but too much drug use promotion (and remember, alcohol is the most abused drug in the world, though tobacco kills the most). Sorry for the sermon. At any rate, if your budget is limited, don't see Infinity War, see this one - much more bang for your buck. Also Rampage is better than Infinity Stones and deserves a higher rating. Expand

Like Marvel films better than some do, have never been and never will be part of this ridiculous MCU vs DCU war, and the positive critical reception drew me in to seeing 'Deadpool 2'.

Being someone who really enjoyed 'Deadpool', though not completely loving it, expectations were high for the sequel and they were met. Like 'Deadpool', 'Deadpool 2' was very entertaining, and again credit is due for trying to take more of a comedic edge to a genre that can be taken seriously (sometimes overly so) and for taking risks. It's also a very good film and count me in as another person who found it an even better film than its predecessor (not many superior sequels out there), being funnier and more ambitious with a much better and memorable villain.

'Deadpool 2' for me did have its issues. There are instances where the special effects are rather ropy and artificial-looking.

Also personally found Julian Dennison on the annoying side and parts of the story are disjointed.

However, 'Deadpool 2' is very well made visually. Slick, stylish and brooding with generally typically well crafted effects. The music is haunting and rousing and most of the direction is very assured and sharp, and more in control of the tonal balances. The action is dynamically choreographed and exciting (the parachuting is unforgettable), the scale bigger and bolder, and the romantic and emotional elements just about avoid the mawkish sentimentality trap and instead give 'Deadpool 2' its heart. While not quite as resonant as in the first 'Deadpool' there is more of the man behind the mask.

Most of the humour is very funny and has enough freshness, though its extremely black and sometimes crude comedic nature again has proven to be an acquired taste. The jokes are more consistent and there are less "don't quite land" ones, while there is the vulgarity, the crudeness does not go overboard. As said, that it, like the first 'Deadpool', that tried to incorporate humour into an often taken seriously genre was interesting and refreshing. The story is a pretty lightweight one structurally, while showing more ambition in depth and scale than its predecessor, and is occasionally disjointed, but the hugely energetic pace, emotion, tension and sense of fun elevated it. The final act is much better here, more exciting, less muddled and doesn't feel rushed.

Ryan Reynolds brings charismatic charisma, vulnerability and great comic timing to the title role, one he was born to play and he successfully allows one to root for his character. Even better is a brilliant Josh Brolin, bringing all the qualities, but with more gruffness and even more menace, that made Thanos in 'Avengers: Infinity War' such a great character and makes Cable a significant improvement by far over the villain in the first film, being actually memorable.

Zazie Beetz was a fun addition as Domino (don't agree with the criticisms directed against her), Morena Baccarin and her chemistry with Reynolds still has heart and all the cameos from the X-force members sparkle.

Overall, highly entertaining and a sequel and overall film that ticked most of the right boxes. 8/10 Bethany Cox

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie was very entertaining. Matched if not exceeded the first film in terms of cinematography, humor, action, etc... Deadpool is a series that doesn't take itself too seriously and that is never more apparent than at the end scenes were some humorous course correction takes place. Deadpool doesn't set out to tell a large, detailed story but mostly tells a story of an anti-hero who is just making it up as he goes. The breaking of the 4th wall is still Deadpool's signature selling point and he uses it to perfection in this movie. Highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves a good laugh and good action. New director David Leitch (of John Wick fame) makes Deadpool 2 feel like an actual John Wick movie from time to time. Ryan Reynolds is again great in the role of Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool), but this time his character takes a bit of a backseat because there are Cable, Domino, the fat kid, and other characters fighting for screen-time, and even taxi driver Dopinder becomes a bit annoying. Still there is a lot of humor, plenty of situational jokes (some of them targeting the cinematic universes of both DC and Marvel, as well as the X-Men film series and Disney which are about to acquire 20th Century Fox) and many awesome action scenes that can only be found in a Deadpool movie. This time Wade Wilson/Deadpool's character actually develops a bit more, thanks to his girlfriend Vanessa and the quest to save the fat kid. To top it off, there is an awesome mid-credits scene that literally blasts everything off. Just be wary of a few gory scenes in the film though, which are lifted straight from the Deadpool comics. With a noticeably higher budget, the multitude of action sequences are more absorbing than the first (as one could guess with the addition of David Leitch as director). Said action is balanced with an abundance of jokes and fourth-wall breaks, which are as strong as ever, and cement Ryan Reynolds as a comedic master. But what’s more impressive is the ensemble surrounding him, which handles the balance between intensity and hilarity flawlessly. The villain in Cable is a near-perfect representation of the character, and Josh Brolin brings his A-game. Where the film faults, though, is its story, which is seemingly over-convoluted when compared to the genius simplicity of its predecessor. A lack of motivation for the events taking place on screen, besides the fact that they’re funny as hell, is kind of frustrating, and the poor writing choices chosen for these setups serve as through away jokes (as referenced by the merc himself). But in the end, Deadpool 2 knows what it is, and uses that to its advantage when creating some of the funniest sequences ever put to film. Expand

Deadpool 2 has a pretty rocky start, the first 20 minutes were straight up hard to enjoy and made me worried for the rest of the film. After the first act the real plot kicks in and things get into a really good groove. This sequel is not as fresh or in a sense special as the original Deadpool was, but it made up for it in its wonderful action set-pieces and the addition of some pretty great new characters (Cable, Domino and Peter) with the glorious return of Colossus. So all in all I'd say that Deadpool 2 has the same good and bad qualities of its predecessor (fun as balls with humour that's equally hilarious as it is forced wrapped in a pretty conventional plot), but DP 2 has a more interesting story and overall I'd say it's more rewatchable. It's quality entertainment. Expand

Be sure to stick around when the credits start for the mid-credits scene. Trust me. You don't want to miss what happens.

This movie has a better budget than the first one, which results in better action scenes and a lot more places and characters for Deadpool to interact with, which keeps things more interesting. Brolin does a good job as the straight man in Deadpool's world of insanity and kicking butt. However, it's Zazie Beets who really steals the show as Domino. She does a great job as the sassy, sarcastic counterpart to Deadpool and her luck powers work for some really creative fight scenes. No spoilers, but one X-Men character who has never gotten his or her due finally gets his/her cinematic moment to shine.

Now, why do I think the first one is better if this one is funnier? Deadpool 1 was a lot more solid plot-wise. Deadpool 2 is darker and more anarchist than the first. At times, the more serious scenes feel like they conflict with the more humorous ones. I do appreciate the need for an emotional backbone to the film, things could've been smoother. Anyway, if you liked the first you should still really like this.

When Josh Brolin said in an interview that Deadpool 2 was funnier was the first Deadpool I thought it was some promotion BS but was i glad I was wrong Deadpool 2 was funnier and more action packed than the first Movie.

Before I say what I enjoyed about Deadpool I would just like tonsay although DP2 is funnier and more action packed it is not better than the first one and I will talk about that.First off the first act of this movie was weird ot feels like the movie is transitioning from the first movie even thought it uses from jokes from the first movie and surprisingly they work throughout the film.Although something emotional happens in the first act involing Deadpool and Mellisa's character Vanassea it felt like the director or writers did not know how to fully utilize until the later stages of The second act of the movie.
Although I have to say again again Ryan Reynolds Performance as Deadpool is Great and is never boring throughout the movie.
When the movie starts to go into the second act the story felt more clear and focused amd the action and humor are amped up with Cable being added to the mix making jokes about Dubstep and Deadpool with his dry humor.
The kid in the film firefist potrayed by Blah was okay he had a simple story with was the catalist for the entire movie and the performance was fitting.
The second half of the movie is were all the excitinv this happen with all the X-Force stuff amd the do something with X-Force thats hilarious some people may find it dissaponting but for me it was wonder amd Betaz character Domino was kind of badass who had the superpowet of luck with proved to be cinematic
The last act of the film was also well done a bit weird but well executed with very funny humor, explosive action
Now the villains of the story there was a surprise
Villain in the movie that I won't spoil but when whenever tnis villain was onscreen he was awesome and the other viallain which involved firefist and doing these bad experiments was kinda weakni mean you understood why they where villians but it was too generic and weak
And then there was the story arc involved the Cable and the kid which was a bit take it or leave it lod of thing but never riuned the experience of the movie at all.
The story may have felt of in the first act of the movie the sfory became more focused in the second act and again the movie is very funny on certain scenes i was literary crying from laughing even thought this certain basic instinct moment happened with was a bit much the movie was still great and the action was better and more epic. The retirning characters like Colossus were also good in the film so that gets an up.And again Ryan Reynold performance was great the man can do no wrong as Dead pool.

The story of this movie does have some really up moments and some really up down ones. Right at the very beginning one thing is going on, and that thing leads to one big deal that happens, and this happening feels so dislocated of the whole plot of the movie that it is disturbing, and they keeped bringing that back apparently having not to do with the plot, but at the very end that makes sense and it is important, i like to think in this story as two circles, one around the other that first seems to be completely disconnected but in the end of the circle the find eachother, it is good. The other circle would be the Cable one, his motivation wasn't bad, but still there was some moments that didn't felt right, like somethings that was kind of out of place, some things that he did during his journey that aren't really a thing that made sense, but considering that the movie makes joke about everything, incluiding itself, it get a free pass and doesn't bother much. The tone and narrative change from times, but not all of the moments are organic, some felt just threaded there. The chemistry between the characters in some moments works in others not that much.
The comedy in this movie gets fantastic, it started slow, with some common lines, but as the keep goes, the comedy start getting another level, there are a few ways that the movie try to get you to laugh, wich is lines, actions that break the expectation and some really not convenient moments. All of these work ? No, but generally made me laugh the hell out of me in some moments, there are some big things that they did just to make a giant joke, and that killed me completely, was really funny, there at least two moments that i got broke of how much i did laugh. There are some lines that are good, but there are some that just don't work, wich is normal, there are those simple fart jokes, wich i don't find them funny anymore, was so much used in so many different ways, for me that is exhausted already. There are jokes that got repeated from the first one, but most of them get to a new level and can still be fun, jokes with Ryan or with Fox for example, worked out very well for me. The movie also is a machine gun of references, it does reference so many things, musics, movies, events, most of the time it is very cool. The break of the fourth wall is a big differential, always that he spoke to us, it was a nice moment.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool one more time, just proved why he is the perfect one for this role, his voice and comical time are perfect, he convinced me in his physicality and also in the personality, in the dramatic moments he didn't convinced me perfectly, but i can't say that it was bad, surely wasn't as good as the comic ones, but it was functional. Josh Brolin was badass, his dramatic moments wasn't the best of the history, his character didn't seemed to have much expressions, it was pretty simple, he worked more as a ladder for deadpool and for the plot to flow, but in the action moments he was great. Zazie Beetz as Domino was pretty cool, she didn't had much challenge in the acting, i believe, but she fit well in that role. Morena Baccarin have a small role here, but she convinced me in the romantic parts, you could see that she was kind and full of love, really good.
The action here can be dope and at the same time hilarious. It was pretty fun, the choreography of fight wasn't insane, but it was good, there are some sequences with swords and shots that are really nice to see. The powers of Cable were well demonstrated and it was badass. There is one specific moment that the characters used their powers togheter to beat a villain, wich was dope. The way that they show Domino's powers was great, they didn't just said that she was luck and showed a lucky moment, the showed the whole process to make the ending to be that lucky one, also pretty damn cool.
The soundtrack was good, it had some uses of already known songs, in some moments that worked really well, in some not that much, but in general it was different, wich is always nice.
The cgi was better than the first one, but not by far perfect, it had some moments that wasn't really that good, but generally it also worked out very well.
The movie have some switches between drama and comedy that doesn't work everytime, but singularly they both deliver some good moments. The comedy is very nice in general, so as the action.

Everyone’s favourite anti-hero, Deadpool (Reynolds) aka The Merc with a Mouth, is back for more ass-kicking actions and fourth-wall breaking in this highly anticipated sequel and trust me you will not be disappointed. For this review, I will be writing about the Super Duper Cut, instead of the theatrical version.

After attempting to commit suicide due to the death of his girlfriend, Vanessa, at the hands of Deadpool’s target which he failed to kill, Deadpool was recruited by an X-Men member, Colossus, who wants him to join the team to help him move on. During his first mission as a member of the X-Men, Deadpool was arrested along with a mutant named, Russell Collins/Firefist (Dennison), after he killed an orphanage staff when he realise that the staffs have been abusing him.

While in prison, a mutant from the future called Cable (Brolin) arrive to kill Russell for reasons unknown. Wanting to redeem himself for failing to save Vanessa and receiving a vision from her telling him to protect Russell, he made his decision to protect him from Cable. After breaking out of prison, Deadpool organise a new team called X-Force to rescue Russell, who is schedule for prison transfer, and to fight off Cable.

Much like the first movie, Deadpool 2 is a very fun movie to watch and it is funnier than the first one. All the dialogues from Deadpool are all purely comedy which makes you laugh a lot in the cinema. What I really like the most about Deadpool is he made a lot of reference and easter eggs to Marvel Comics and DC Comics without any rights concern. I can tell that Ryan Reynolds really enjoy playing the character a lot and most likely won’t give up the role so soon.

Having watched both the theatrical version and the Super Duper Cut, both of them are really good but the Super Duper Cut has many new and additional scenes. Those new scenes have more character development for supporting characters to make it more interesting and more funny moments. Despite the new scenes, it does not really contribute much to the main plot of the movie.

Despite the positive element for this movie, I was kind of disappointed that Morena Baccarin was reduced to minor role. To me, it was kind of wasting time and she could have played a bigger role. If you are planning to see some post-credits scene, you better forget it because there is none of it. Not even in the Super Duper Cut. But, do wait for mid-credits scenes and even more scenes in the Super Duper Cut.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Such a blast! Being a huge fan of the first film, I was happy to return to the world of Deadpool for a sequel! I was fortunate enough to catch the double feature screening, so the first one was fresh in my mind when I watched the sequel. Though most of the jokes were almost the carbon copy of the first film, there were some that were fresh and had me laughing out loud in my seat. The other element that they introduced was a little more of the humanity of Wade, which was a very warm surprise. Though the first half of the movie was spent trying to figure out how he could kill himself, I felt the weight of his heartache and the loss of purpose through the comedy and action. Domino was just stunning to have as an addition to the X Force!! Zazie Beets was such a joy to watch kick so much ass, while remaining light and fun to balance out Cable's dark story. The only weak link was Firefist. I feel like the jokes about thug life and his inclination for the crime world seemed a little unwarranted. Though Dennison was a good fit for the role, I feel the development of his character was too easy. Also, I love the LGBT representation!! They may be the first openly Lesbian Superhero couple I've seen in a Marvel movie! It made me real excited to see this representation happen in the superhero world. Overall, this was such a fun movie and I'm excited to see how the franchise pans out!! Expand

The story itself is more thrilling. The pacing is impeccable. The script also gave all the characters a fair share of screen time and importance that will make you thoroughly invested in them, specially the old characters.

In contrast to the original, the villains are very compelling and potent; because their motives are way more plausible, but most importantly more clear.

Deadpool 2 is also more heavier in meta jokes, and that's where "bigger" doesn't necessarily mean "better". Honestly, this movie has more creative and funnier jokes that you'd never believe they could exist, but the element of shock and awe can’t be put back into its bottle. The result is a smarter, and quite funny, jokes that don't work as well as the original's.

The action is very good, and that's very frustrating! David Leitch is one of the best action film directors who work today, because he make design action sequences and stunt work that can't be forgotten; some of John Wick and Atomic Blonde's action sequences still stick in my mind. However in this film, Leitch made enjoyable action sequences, but totally forgettable.

What surprised me in this movie is that it has a strong emotional impact that is rare to be in a superhero movie. Some scenes are really touching and emotionally devastating.

All in all, I think Deadpool 2 is a slight improvement upon its predecessor, but it proves again that Ryan Reynolds as Wade WIlson/Deadpool is one of the best superhero casting choices ever along with Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine, and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Also, this mid-credits scene is simply the best and coolest mid-credits scene ever put to film!

And, I had a great time watching it. I do think that the first one is better, but overall I think I may have enjoyed this one more. It's kind of weird. Story: The story of the Deadpool 2 is definitely more complex than the first one (although it does essentially boil down to "Guy from future wants to kill kid, Deadpool no like that"), and as a result I did find myself more invested in it than the first one. It seemed a bit more serious and the stakes did seem higher. It really is a paint by numbers superhero story, but it completely works for Deadpool 2 because you could almost look at it as part of the joke that is Deadpool. He likes to take shots at superhero stuff, but he happens to be in a movie that follows the standard superhero formula. A big thing that didn't work for me story wise, and a big reason why I think that the first one is a tiny bit better, is that the kid who Deadpool wants to protect is straight up not likable. I didn't like his character, wasn't super impressed by the kid portraying the character, and honestly was quite annoyed by him any time he was on screen.

Humor: This is where it gets weird. I found Deadpool 2 to be funnier than Deadpool, but I feel like Deadpool 2 overcooks it a bit with the comedy. There was a point in the movie where it felt like it was just constantly pelting me with jokes, and not all of them landed. So while I found it incredibly funny overall, I think it could have benefited from toning down the number of jokes by just a smidge.

Acting: Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool. That's all that really needs to be said. Overall: Deadpool 2 is a solid movie and a worthy sequel to Deadpool, although it may not be quite as good.

TheDeadpool is back and better than ever! this sequel packs in more raunchy, fourth-wall breaking humor and gut-wrenching action than the first. This film is full of a ton of stellar pop culture references and blink and you miss it cameos. The pacing in this film is a little all over the place but it smoothes out during the second act. the acting in this film is on point, and Julian Denison proves that he can handle his own and shine even through the biggest of action stars. One thing that is very original in a comic book movie and that turned out great is that the film has no physical big bad, instead, Deadpool is forced through a sequence of unfortunate events until he hits rock bottom. Zazzie Beet's Domino is by far one of the coolest characters in the film and her powers are depicted perfectly. the film also does a good job of balancing its budget, although some of the VFX shots are a little wonky. I wasn't very fond of Josh Brolin's Cable, he felt a little too over the top. Overall, Deadpool 2 is a great film that improves on the original with surprisingly a lot of heart. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This bizarre superhero comedy was laugh out loud funny but balanced out the humour with seriousness at certain key points. The sequel was far greater to it's predecessor giving the villain (Cable) a sympathetic view in the eye of the audience when you realise why he wants to stop the child (fire fist). The end credits were very unexpected and hilarious. Expand

This second installment in the sarcastic loud-mouthed superhero’s series is a bit of a surprise, since sequels rarely conjure up the same passion and fandom as the original film. Much like 22 Jump Street, Deadpool 2 succeeds in its self-awareness. Multiple self-deprecating jokes about lazy writing and some surprisingly bold decisions with regard to the story make this sequel, in some ways, more memorable, and certainly more unique in its genre, than the original. Deadpool is a standard superhero film with some R-rated humor baked into its crust whereas Deadpool 2 is a superhero film distancing itself from the formula. Without this distinction, Deadpool 2 would not be worth two hours of anyone’s time.

Little can be discussed with regard to the story without leading to spoilers (not that a film of this nature demands or deserves much analysis). Many of the jokes will not age well, and audiences may soon tire of Ryan Reynolds’s brand of humor in general. While I am certain that I left the theater the same person as before I walked in and had zero of my core beliefs or ideas challenged, I am not sure if I have been more entertained on a base level this year.

Not as risky as the previous film but still interesting, you leave with a smile on the face.

Remember: There are post-credit scenes.

Not only was this very funny w/ Deadpool's (Ryan Reynolds) sarcasm but the story was such a breathe of fresh air as it doesn't follow the your typical good guy save the world from the bad guy plot. It was so much more nuanced as Deadpool is trying to find himself and his purpose while having to deal w/ the "annoying" X-Men that he interns with. The action scenes were also pretty fun as well.

My only issue w/ this is that their are a few bad and immature jokes thrown in that this movie could definitely have done w/out. So overall this movie is highly recommended. It's very fun, funny, and has a well done overall story. Congrats Deadpool 2, you're one of the very, very rare movies that goes on the list of, "Sequels That Are Better Than The First".

Honestamente?

But that doesn't detract from the really good movie, and with Cable a very strong figure has been introduced and thus significantly better than in Part 1 Francis.

This film is an unparalleled parody and it is simply entertaining. Better than Part 1 and worth seeing.

DP2 has many of the same things that made DP great. It is raunchy, R-rated and funny. I don't quite understand why Josh Brolin is the bad guy in two Marvel movies released so close in time to each other. But he is good here. Ryan Reynolds is perfect for the tone of both DP movies. The new character Domino is great. The opening credits are a wonderful homage to the Bond films. The story is a little predictable and somewhat schmaltzy. There is a scene near the end where there is a snarky (albeit funny) comment about the conventions of these movies, then the movie simply follows the convention. Nevertheless, I laughed, was entertained, and had a good time. The other Marvel convention, one that I can't seem to get enough of, is the extra scene during or after the credits and the one in this movie is simply awesome. Do not walk out until it plays out; it's very funny. Expand
