Daydream Nation is a total snorefest, no wonder the critics loved it. The plot had too many distractions and meaningless little added tidbits that took away from the main story and added needless minutes to an already too long film. I think it's the most mature performance I've seen from Kat Dennings, although it gets lost in a conventional plot that doesn't go beyond a sardonic tone that hardly leaves an impression.

It's certainly a bit smarter than the average drama

It's certainly a bit smarter than the average drama of this nature, but just enough to distinguish itself a bit, yet not enough to be any better.
