"Dandelion" is a little like Hillary Birmingham's "Tully", but unrelentingly sad. If it wasn't for the filmmaker's predilection for pointing his camera towards nature, this indie weepie would be intolerable. If it wasn't for the filmmaker's predilection for pointing his camera towards nature, this indie weepie would be intolerable. [***SPOILERS***] Early in the film, Mason(Vincent Kartheiser) goes to jail for his old man, and the mystery surrounding this sacrifice is what may very well keep the audience from nodding off for the remaining hour. Kartheiser is still another actor who obviously studied Johnny Depp's early film work, which is in essence, be a sympathetic and likable mute. And sure enough, Mason is sympathetic and likable.… Expand
