It’s sad when a favorite actor is in a movie this overwrought and melodramatic. None of the kids can act, and the lines they are provided don’t even fit with their characters. Memes are decades out of place, it’s condescending on all levels, and fits strongly in the category of “Did not earn the remake reasoning” And most damning, as they tried to fit in every version of discriminated classes into one family, they made 2-dimensional versions of all. Not even enjoyable as a background movie, because you look up, hoping you might see something interesting , and it turns out to be a black kid dressed as biker goth.… Expand

It didn't go to theaters for a reason.

Quite possibly one of the worst remakes I have ever seen.

Clearly adapted to our current times, and that was to be expected. However it doesn't advance any substantial elements in any way with the exception that this time the lead family is not an extremely white family as in the Steve Martin-ledClearly adapted to our current times, and that was to be expected. Coherent in its systematic style, but as predictable and inconsistent as you would expect from a story like this.… Expand

Mise-en-scene, mise-en-scene is what family movies need, proper camera movement. Being honest with iteself was the best point of this movie, the definition it gives of family, but everything is in its most ideal form.and I don't car fake comments

Unfortunately... rather bad.

'Cheaper by the Dozen' undoubtedly has its heart in the right place but what a mess of an execution, they basically come up with as many messages as possible and cram them together - but there's one problem, theyUnfortunately... rather bad.

'Cheaper by the Dozen' undoubtedly has its heart in the right place but what a mess of an execution, they basically come up with as many messages as possible and cram them together - but there's one problem, they forgot the glue! It's just a sequence of points, as it culminates with a woeful, forced family drama.

The cast make it slightly more watchable than it would've otherwise been, I will say that - they aren't great, but are predominantly hindered by the lame dialogue and yawnful character development. Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union are a solid pairing, while Mykal-Michelle Harris and Leo A. Perry are the pick of the younger lot - I would've liked to have seen more of their characters, as those two definitely had the best comedic timing of the kids. Others I note: 'Talking Dead' favourite Ron Funches and 'White Chicks' alum Brittany Daniel.

The only hero from this 2022 flick? Larry Sims. That dude went ham on Union's hair - I've never noticed a character go through so many hairstyles before! Hope he got paid enough.

I feel a tiny bit bad for disliking something that tries to come out meaningful, but man this is a cringefest. If you want a film adaptation of the 1948 novel, I'd recommend the 2003 remake with Steve Martin.… Expand
