Charlotte Gray is a film directed by Gillian Armstrong and is about a Scottish women who becomes a Currier for the british government and than is sent to France to help the french underground during WWII. This film has all the makings of a great film, good acting, some decent shots, and some wonderful writing. However it's all brought down by it's message which is that war isn't black and white. Now this message would be fine if it wasn't for the time period in which the film is set. You see I am of the believe that the Nazis were pure evil, so when I see a film state that though yes the Germans were evil the other governments were just as bad, it makes me very upset. Look I get that other government did bad things during WWII but nothing compares to the evil of the Nazis. In conclusion if your looking for good war film than stay far away from this film.… Expand

This is a middle of the road movie. Some nice scenes of the countryside are its best feature. This feels like a high class version of a Lifetime Movie Network offering. The movie doesn't drag but you get the feeling you've seen a story like this 20 times before and 10 of those were better and 10 were worse. I don't think you will be thinking about this movie again 2 hours after it is over. If you see only one movie this year don't make it this one.… Expand
